Oh, no, i'm still down for some sabotage, don't get me wrong. My refusal to call him a villain is out of a refusal to associate our most (ig)noble profession with him. We didn't get nominated for villain of the year at the Villain's Choice Awards to let some two-bit reality TV host claim a spot among our ranks.
[X] Plan T.S.P.W.A.C.A.B.A.W.H.C (The Second Plan Without A Cool Acronym, But Atleast We Have Coffee)
Late to the game but ill put myself behind this one for now. Though gods, I really do want to sort out Gems sooner rather than later and absolutely do not care about the ice cream men.

They're our army. And, frankly, we have the Gems pretty sorted.
Anyway, we all know relying on cards is stupid and will get us bodied 100 times out of a hundred. That said...Let's check out some of the competition, shall we?
Checking them out, Mandy has the most well-rounded stat block of the Kings who aren't us that we've seen, with no actual bad stats. Decent Learning, Good in everything else, except her speciality, Occult which is decent without (I assume) Grim's scythe...And ABSURD with it. Mandark, as expected, is a Learning King, although also with great Stewardship as well. His Intrigue is decent, and his Diplo and Martial are both below-average...Except, notably, with a bonus, bringing him up to our level under that situation. I assume he has a bonus that lets him amp up his Martial when working on/with "applied science" IE death rays, giant robots, that sorta thing. He lacks an Occult. Eddy, contrary to what I was expecting, is actually a DIPLO specialized King as well as Intrigue. He also has shockingly good Stewardship, but his Martial and Learning are, unsurprisingly, weak points. Makes sense, as Ed usually handles the heavy lifting and Double D the tech...God, picture that hero ball. Also lacks Occult.
Also, Jasper. Surprising no one, she is Martial focused. On par with our own power, a worthy foe. She also has good Intrigue, Learning oddly (I suppose she is from a technologically-advanced society: I wouldn't be surprised if the Gem equivalent of a high schooler would have technological knowledge on par with Earth's PHD scientists through that tech gap. Imagine trying to explain the workings of a ham radio to, say, a "natural philosopher" of Voltaire's day, and that's just a couple hundred years tech difference), and Stewardship. She also has an actual, albeit low, Occult score. Interesting. I wonder how Gems handle magic. Shocking no one, her weak point is her Diplo. I might make a follow-up post covering some of the non-King major players we've met so far.

Honestly I don't think Mandy has Grim's Scythe, mostly since another character has it in the base setting. I thinK Mandy's massive Occult is kind of like Skips Occult. As long as Mandy herself isn't casting she get's a bonus; but she struggles when actually trying to use magic (this is just a guess though, it could be an underworld focus bonus). As for Eddy, it makes complete sense for him to be a Diplo/Intrigue King. He is a con artist at his core, tricking and swindling people.
The Gems are interesting, since Peridot is a Hero tier Hero Unit rather then an On a Roll King like she is in Cruel Network proper (Probably for the best since otherwise they got 2 kings which I don't think the system could handle). She is basically just a Learning Steward, though her Limb Enhancers gives her decent martial. Hunter Gather's and Timothy Treister are also hero tier units; with Treister possibly being post Space Radiation do to his martial having radioactive symbols.

Just to comment on this a bit, if I remember right back in early Steven Universe, Gem abilities and artifacts were sometimes referred to as 'magical'. While nothing ever really came of that in the show, given this mega-crossover involves magic to a much higher degree, it's possible that some gems abilities and/or tech have been fluffed as magic here, thus explaining why Jasper has an Occult score. It's possible that they're just a magic-using race of aliens like the Annodites are.
And something that could explain her high Learning and Stewardship could be if her and Peridot have kind of Hero-Balled themselves into a singular unit. Not sure if there's something I'm forgetting that could refute this, but it'd seem to make sense, I think?
I don't think she actually has Deaths Scythe since that'd be a pretty big deal, instead I think she's just got Grims head feeding her his occult knowledge.
Mildly surprising but Gems were vaguely magical at points. Could also be her personally researching as to be prepared for more magical threats, of which earth has many.

Nah, Peridot got her own card. My guess was that the Learning is...Well, ya know how even a relatively uneducated adult citizen of the year 2000 knows a lot of stuff that someone 1000 years ago wouldn't, just by the osmosis of living in a technologically-advanced society (IE Stuff is made of atoms, light has a speed, magnets attract and repel each other?) Same deal here. Jasper has grown up in a society where spaceships, holograms, and teleporters are commonplace tech. So my guess is the technological know-how picked up as a result is on-par with an Earth scientist, by virtue of being several tech levels ahead. Same way that, even if I couldn't build a computer, I still know way more about how it operates then a guy from the 1700s would, and that's just a couple hundred years of development.
Man's a talker, and more over can normally convince people who really should know better to follow him. The Cul D Sac kids know better but he can still convince em to listen to him.

Hope Toiletnator doesn't job on unhypnotizing the ice cream men we need our mooks to protect our stuff.
Also hope we visit spankula next go around and hopefully recruit him dude seems like he would be great on stealth missions that one episode where the knd was turning into vamps was scary as a kid.
Think we could Hyper Charge our Coffee into giving us an extra action or buff our rolls? Probably would need some research for that.

I'd like to eventually visit him, but not for a while. Part of it's a desire to at least get his POW Card but also just a sort of... Father seeing the world moving on in a sense?
Spankulot was a recurring Adult Sooper Villain, and seeing the guy in jail might have an effect on him.

I suppose that could be good. But gods do I just get the feeling he'd be a half decent unit (occult/Intrigue style) that just comes with so much pain. Almost every faction would just hit him, and Father in turn, with a "What the actual hell is wrong with you".

He's legitimately probably one of the stronger KND villains when he isnt holding back if I'm remembering his showings well enough. But he's also a weirdo spanking vampire that legitimately desires (and may even actually need) to spank people, and he specifically targets children for this. Children that he breaks into the houses of.
Dudes a walking case and mere association with him is a bad look.
