Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Something bad happens? And no, that's just so if the enemy manages to drop her below her max health, Sega will fix that up.

What is this "something bad happens" that you speak of?
What exactly are you talking about?

It's been hinted by...I can't quite remember at the moment, but someone knowledgeable of behind-the-scene workings that if we use Core Purge too many times in a short enough time period, then something bad will happen, even if we have Segarite Core. Actually, thinking back...wasn't that you dropping the hints about that crystalwatcher?

I don't remember. And I don't think so.

When you guys activate Core Purge you are literally dropping whatever containment barriers there are between the ???? Core and the rest of the world. That means your defenses drop dramatically, but not completely, and in return you literally blast the surrounding area with pure Divine power.

Hmm...Alright, one final question. After Core Purge is finished, are our defenses restored to full power? Or do they suffer a slight drop because we lowered them?

"I know... how painful it is... It doesn't get easier, if anything it gets harder... Harder to connect, harder to feel... I have so little left that I'm too scared to let anything else in. Don't become like that, don't drown in your fears... Revel in the softness of your heart, for as long as you can."
Anyway, now that I've cast my vote, and have cleared things up, I'm just going to comment this is really sad. :(

Hang in there Nepgear, you'll become bubbly, friendly and caring again someday! ...I hope.

You can totally be bubbly, friendly and caring while also being a mess of PTSD and other assorted disorders.

And besides, if we can be sure of anything it's that Nepgear can accept the pain of the past and move on. She's made of stronger stuff than most people. Literally.

[X]Are you leaving anyone of Team GEAR behind?
-[X] Samael, James, and Aquila will stay at the barricades.

[X] Gone Fishin'
-[X] Spilt into two groups.
--[X] Solid Core will have Gabriel and Solid Drive follow her as they rush ahead, looking for rezz'd Magical Girls.
--[X] Red Rose will lead the rest (Shining Key, Insight, Lucky, Michael) as she sees fit.
-[X] If Nepgear's group encounters a Magical Girl charge her and try to disable her (lop off arms or something). If successful have Gabriel carry them back to the barricade to get de-sealed by Samael while Goddess Gold hold her down. Nepgear's group is all quick flyers to facilitate this.
-[X] If Red Rose runs into trouble fly to her and assist. Try to disable Magical Girls if possible, but follow Red Rose's commands.

Lets spilt up, we can do more damage that way :V. The tried and true method for fixing sealed people is to have Sam blast it while Goddess Gold chains the marked person up. Solid Core's team is mostly capable of tanking a heavy spell to the face before retaliating. Micheal is immune to spells and Lucky is quite likely to resist with her absurd Magic Modifier, they can support Red Rose by crushing skeletons while still being able to take a hit. In case of trouble we send Gabriel to help them get their Health back (Lucky has a Nepgear sized case of "unscathed or dead" in this plan, roll wisely glass cannon).

As an aside: When Michael got punched for hitting on White Knight, was he punched by White Knight or by her fiancé?

Is it bad, that my first thought on reading this was:

"Alright chumps, lets do this! Nep- GEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!"

"Oh god she just ran in."

"Save her!"

Well, at least nobody is tormenting her dreams with XP laden omakes lately.
+5xp Met Insight
+20xp Broke Insight
+30xp Traumatized Insight without ever doing anything to her
Man, we should do this more often. It's lucrative.
This Mustn't Register On An Emotional Level
-Magical Girl Insight is resistant to most harmful mental effects, and nearly immune to emotion-based ones.
...
We broke her through her defenses lol
Rei is hanging around closeby anyway. And why is the use of Core Purge limited?
Well, I imagine the main issue is the small radius. It's absolutely tiny unless we already have an unsurpassed mobility advantage to pin them down and expose our Core to them. Anyone fast could bug out. Anyone hard hitting has Nepgear in melee range of them with lowered defenses.
This is Nepgear now:
I think it's Insight feeling violated there. She's supposed to be the one giving out the mindfucks!
Holy crap. How the hell did she survive as long as she did?
Fights like a D&D ubercharger PC. When you enter battle, SOMEONE DIES IMMEDIATELY. Then you zoom out of the engagement area, loop around and pop the second one.

They can't kill you if they are dead(unless they are Solid Core)
I don't see how? Red has to have a largish piece of someone to revive them and it has to be from After they've died. If JD died here, we would cremate the body, and UD is down Divine MG. So I think she's going to be played very close to the chest and close Red so she can revive her on site.
Not a largish piece I think?

Any piece from after they died. Hence giving intact burials, because that gives you one corpse to secure rather than easily missed bits of ash.
Well, it's also pretty likely that Sam will gain a healing spell if he's allowed to scan Brilliant Key.
Well, Sam should scan everyone.

I wonder if we could Synchronize his scan spell with Starfall.
At the time of their appearance, the Three Dives were following on the coattails of the tragedy that was the Fall of Hope.
Not sure about Juggernaut, but I think only Sega would qualify as a Dive :p
This all reminds me of Nepgear.
Leader of a bullshit team? An All-rounder? A Female CREEEEEEEEEED?! That's Nepgear.
The Team's Heart? Super Bullshit Defenses? That's Nepgear too.
The Teams Rolemodel? Always trying to improve? An expert at fucking enemies up? There a Wild Nepgear there!

She's like all three Drives but better!
Nepgear is not quite an expert at fucking enemies up. She's just got a giant hose that goes everywhere.
Need more practice to be an expert.

Huh, interesting. Beacon for all sorts I imagine.

Also, @crystalwatcher can Juggernaut's spell that bypasses Indestructible Core also bypass the magic immunity of Michael and Gabriel?
Since people are apparently terrible at searching here is Juggernaut's The Unstoppable Spear:
Lemme expand on this real quick:
crystalwatcher said:
The Unstoppable Spear

Level N/A
Base Damage: Target's Health
Magic Modifier: N/A
Affinity: Purity | Faith | Divinity
Ability: Unstoppable | Scale To Target | Overwhelm
crystalwatcher said:
The Unstoppable Spear
-If Juggernaut Drive engages in an Intercept Conflict, she automatically casts The Unstoppable Spear, regardless of who triggers the Intercept.

For reference those abilities are:
Unstoppable: Negate all resistances.
Scale to Target: Allows the Damage of a weapon/spell to use multiples of the Target's HP as it's damage counter.
Overwhelm: Allows the spell/weapon to utilize the Overwhelm version of the Intercept ability, even if the user doesn't have it themselves. If it's on the spell, it allows the spell to trigger the Intercept.

Here is the Overwhelm Intercept ability:
Overwhelm (Demon King)
-If an incoming attack is caught, intercept the attack with one of Demon King's. When intercepting an attack, increase Demon King's damage by 75% of his opponent's Base Damage. If Demon King's damage is higher, negate the attack, and deal the difference in unblockable damage. If Demon King's damage is exceeded, reduce incoming damage by yours before calculation.

That spell doesn't bypass Indestructible Core.

Juggernaut got her reputation due to dishing out damage on such an immense scale, combined with a large number of attacks per turn, a situational bonus to damage and a spell that insta-kills most enemies. She doesn't need conceptual bullshit when she can hit you so hard, anything short of Red Rose, San or Nepgear dies instantly, and even those tend to do so in a turn or two.
Well it depends. If Scale-To-Target is simply what let's the damage be "Target's Health" then no the spear is actually useless against Nepgear since it can only deal 4,200 damage, although this bypasses Base Resilience, which thanks to ICORE and No Longer Human only does 21 Health damage. If it lets her adjust the damage to be some multiple of Nepgear's Health then we might be screwed depending upon how high that multiple gets.

If we Intercept one of Juggernaut Drive's the damage goes to like 43 which again is nothing.

So, she's at a big disadvantage against people who either go first, can prevent her from going, or can autoparry her alpha strike.
Pretty much.

Basically, the only way we have a chance at retrieving her is revealing Core Purge in a clash against her. Because they'll never let her within 50 meters of Ana afterwards.
Or Aura of Light, or Purge, or any other ability that can specifically target the Control Seal without harming Juggernaut Drive.

Red Rose on the defensive (Inhuman Skill gives her two autoparries while still being allowed to attack. She is particularly exceptional in how many attacks she gets
Actually she's not. The average number of APTs of the 125 characters I've logged the data for so far is 3 and there are 22 characters with 5 or more APT.[/quote]

Oh and a reminder to people: Samael has Drive-Boost which, at it's current level, lets him cast two spells per turn. So he can cast Purge twice per turn. If he gets average rolls for Empower and Shell (+500 each) then in a single turn he can easily deal 3,500 to the Control Seal.

"Alright chumps, lets do this! Nep- GEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!"

"Oh god she just ran in."

"Save her!"
Red Rose (Guild Leader): Nepgear is the puller and Shining Key is the main tank, everyone got that?

Insight (Trial Member): What if Nep gets stunned while pulling?

Red Rose (Guild Leader): That's what Every Man for Himself is for.

Solid Core (Will Nep You Up!): Um... I lost my racial ability when I took this class.

Red Rose (Guild Leader): Ugh. New plan, hit it until it dies. I'm pretty sure I can clear this instance in my sleep, just don't stand in the bad stuff.

... And now I'm trying no to die.

At Twilight's Divide, The Four Goddesses Kings stand before each other, separated by desire, insanity and loss, wishing to stand united once more.
Among the ruins of Hope, The Three Drives of the Divine stood against the endless war to protect what they love and believe.
Upon the road to Elysium, The Two Cores of Unyielding Retribution search for Peace as darkness closes in.
From the Goddess's Core Drives, The One Lost shall be reborn at the Light's End.

That was hard to write and i'm not sure about the end, i could not get it to sound right and the lines to look balanced.

-[X] Samael will take a few minutes to boost everyone present with every boost spell he has. He will also ask if he can grab some spells off the present Magical Girls, and if he can, he will proceed to use any boosting spells he gets off them. Before you leave, you will ask Rei to use her Chains of the Earth spell to shut down any hostile Magical Girls that show up until whether or not the possess a Control Seal can be verified, and to adjust her Overwhelming Presence so that it doesn't affect Juggernaut Core if she shows up, as she would probably instantly die, and you want to save her.
Should make that any hostile Magical Girls rather then just Juggernaut Core, which should be Drive anyway, we don't want any of the girls popping, and have no IC reason to believe Juggernaut Drive has been resurrected.

Might also mention trying to see if she can get it to target the Control Seals; just imagine how happy Rei would be if she could save Ichi herself.

-[X] All the members of Team GEAR other than yourself and Sega will all stay outside with the barricades and aid them in destroying any Skeletal Soldiers. If any hostile Magical Girls show up, they are to slow them down until Rei can catch them with Chains of the Earth, after which they will be checked for Control Seals. If they possess Control Seals and did not work for the Unified Darkness before their death, Gabriel will activate her Presence of Light ability after designating the Girl friendly and her seal as hostile. If they do not possess Control Seals or worked for the Unified Darkness before their death, kill them or take them to interrogation as appropriate. Soldiers will keep a close eye on any captured Girls until the Control Seal has been destroyed.
There are multiple issues here.

First off Gabirel should always have her Presence of Light going. It heals her allies and destroys the Control Seals. Even if they are evil there isn't any disadvantage in destroying their seals.

Secondly I'm not so sure about leaving our entire team outside, Sega doesn't count since she'll always go with Nepgear if possible. We should bring Samael in since he gives our team a way of destroying Control Seals without relying on Core Purge, which as a reminder may trigger Progenitor Frame which could cause issues, to avoid harming the victim. The outside team already have Gabriel and possibly Rei to do that. Plus Michael and James have already demonstrated an ability to attack Command Seals, with minimal spill over, so long as they know where they are.

-[X] If/when you meet a Magical Girl who worked for the Light, get the others to hold her down and/or knock her unconscious if they can. If they can't, activate Core Purge after designating the Girl as friendly and any Control Seals on her as hostile.
Seems easier to just either have Samael take them down or go straight to Core Purge. Remember Core Purge instantly takes down a Control Seal.

[X] Deployment
-[X] Gabriel, Michael and Samael will be going with the Assault Team.
-[X] James, Lucky and Aquila will be joining the Barricade with Goddess Gold.
Wouldn't it make sense to have Gabriel, and by extension Michael since he makes her more effective, outside to heal the allied mooks? Also why bring Lucky inside? Nepgear is already damaging enough I'm afraid of her bringing down the building on us and Lucky is just as collateral damage friendly as Nepgear.

-[X] Samael will pair with Insight and aid her, while Gabriel and Michael will team-up to deal with spell-casters.
--[X] They're to focus on rescuing/subduing these girls. Gabriel should focus her aura on destroying the seals, and keeping the girls alive.
As I just posted Samael can do some serious damage against seals with his Purge spell. It's honestly his best duty here, outside all the buffs.

My plan to come shortly, chapter review will wait since @crystalwatcher is staying awake for me.
