@Crystalwatcher
A question for the next time Ana levels up: Compared to other high ranked MG her health looks kind of small (glass cannons excluded). Is there another way of increasing it outside leveling up her frame further? I ask because it is already indistcructable.
I'm not sure about that. Sure if you look at the current Top Ten:
Goddess Gold: 55,000
Goddess Grey: 45,000
Goddess White: 150,000
Goddess Red: 30,750
Hero WEAPON: 77,777
Angel WEAPON: 45,000
???
Maiden of the East: 66,000
Maiden of the West: 65,000
Red Rose: 5,000
Nepgear's 6,000 is the second lowest with only Red Rose below her. However if you look at the Old Guard:
White Soul: 6666
Red Rose: 5,000
Grey Champion: 1,000+ (Ability Weirdness)
Solar Radiance: 1,500
Lunar Radiance: 2,550
Sixth Heaven: 4,800
Silver Hero: 500
Nepgear is only beat by White Soul.
I think the issue is the Old Guard got to the top by being tricky to fight (IE: strong reliance on Abilities) while the current Top Ten reached their positions via raw power (IE: massive numbers). Nepgear, and the other Cores/Gears for that matter, is probably closer to the Old Guard in style then the Top Ten; most her strength comes from her OP Abilities.
Health wise we can't really have better Base Health then we currently have because Segarite Core multiplies it by 1.75x then ICORE and No Longer Human combined multiply that by 200x so that Nepgear's Effective Health is actually 2,100,000 with Segarite Core adding (regardless of her Current Health) another 900,000 Effective Health each Turn.
Yes Nepgear is super weak against enemies who can mess with ICORE (like Solar Radiance) but that is the price we pay for being an Ability based MG rather then a Stat based one. From a mechanical perspective it is kinda necessary since there are very few threats that can actually output enough damage to seriously threaten Nepgear without somehow messing with ICORE.
Part of you can't help but feel as if that is an omen.
"Alright everyone. First thing's first, let's go see if we can get into contact with the other Horsewomen and see what they've found out, if anything..." You take a quick look, and... Yep. War already wandered off somewhere. Should probably see about asking her as well. "Keep in contact over the radios, if any of our quarries show up, try to ask questions first. We don't want to trigger a fight if we can avoid one. If hostilities seem like they're inevitable, attempt to disengage. I'd rather not find us in a brawl here."
"Rodger!"
And with that, you kick off and float above the town as the rest of your team scatters into twos. From the vantage point above the town, you can see how deceptively small it is. Being a 'mere' seven square miles, the town is even smaller than your own before it was destroyed by the Spawn of Mayhem, though not by much. Especially since your hometown had an even smaller population than Hawthorne's 1,500.
"... What is everyone up to here?" you mutter as what looks to be an out of town visitor in a funny looking Tricorn hat glances up to your star in the sky before slipping into a small compact and driving off. "Well, just floating up here isn't doing any good. Time to get to work."

Aquila and Sam are the first to find one of the other Horsewomen. Famine is standing out front of a roadside bar and grill, trying to mediate an argument between what looks like two different biker gangs that you don't recognize at all... and it honestly didn't seem to be going well considering one of the groups were...
"Shut the fuck up and butt out of this little girl. Load back up onto your little magical scooter and go home to mommy while the real men have their talk."
Complete assholes.
Bonus points in the speaker for the other group was a woman who looked a bit older than your mother should be now. Biker Chick and Famine were both looking at the Idiot like he was a two headed chicken while several of his 'buddies' were groaning, likely in embarrassment to be associated with the Idiot.
"Are... are you flirting with me?" ... Not the comeback you thought you'd here from Famine, but the look on the guy's face was priceless. "No offense man, but I'm taken. Also your bike is way smaller than mine so if mine's a scooter, what does that make yours?" Actually, never mind. There was the fusillade you were expecting. "Maybe you should... you know. Shut up before you dig your hole deeper."
Several of Idiot's buddies were silently nodding behind him, but said Idiot turned a rather brilliant shade of spruce... you think. You're not good at subtle colors.
"I'm going to-GhrkaaaAAAARRRGGGGG!" And his stupid just broke. Namely, it broke his hand on Famine's face, who didn't even flinch when he swung at her. Famine's look of pure 'srsly?' grew even more pronounced as the Idiot clutched his broken fingers as several of those present start laughing.
"Is this normal?" Aquila's voice cuts off only a bit of the laughter as Sam just sighs heavily and palms at his face.
"No. Not even remotely. I can feel a few of my brain cells dying from here." Stepping forward, he cleared his throat loud enough to draw the attention of the core group. "Ms. Famine? Samael Balier from the Counter Force. I'm a member of the support team sent to help investigate. Me and my teammate were hoping to speak with you about what you've found so far."
The Magical Girl shares a quick glance with the Biker Chick who simply jerks her head towards him in a clear dismissal. Shrugging, she walks over, leaving the Idiot's buddies to flood into the sudden gap and help him up.
"Nice to meet you." She glances down at his armor. "... Nice outfit. So what did you want to ask?"
"Its not as silly as it looks. Regardless, wanted to ask you if you've discovered anything yet. All my team and I knew coming in was that this was the most likely place our... friends were to show up."
Famine nods, "Understandable. Unfortunately though we've found nothing so far. The Sink Hole could have been it, but all evidence is pointing to nothing new. I've been asking around here, but none of the locals know anything."
"That's alright. Our other teammates are looking for your sisters to see if they stumbled across anything themselves just in case though."
"No problem... hey, no offense, but you guys aren't all they sent... right?"
Aquila simply sighs in understanding.

The second found is Pestilence by James and Michael.
At a park with a bunch of kids.
"Haha! Tag, you're it!"
"Oh nooo! I got migititis! I must spread!"
"No! Aaaahhhhhahahahaha!"
"Looks like someone is having fun." And she honestly does. The red-clad Horsewoman is chasing kids back and forth around a large jungle gym as several of the tyke's parents all watch on. Soft flashes from cameras showing that this day would be going into numerous scrap books. "Magical Girl Horseman of Pestilence?" James' call gets the attention of everyone in the playground. "Pardon for the interrupt, but me and my team just arrived to help you and your sisters. I was hoping to gather what you know so far to see how we can help out."
"It's okay," she chuckles as some of the kids all run up and gather behind her like she's some kind of bush. "Haven't found much of anything myself so far. None of the kids or their parents have seen anything, and no one's been hurt or gone missing either."
"That's actually good to know. Where have you looked so far?"
"Pretty much this entire side of town." Pestilence shrugs. "Me and my sisters have been here since yesterday poking our noses about. So far though, there's been no signs of the Maidens or the WEAPONs... though I gotta ask, you're not all they sent. Right?"

Gabriel and Lucky are the ones to find War again. The black clad Horsewoman is standing next to four... radically different customized Harley Davidson motorcycles, the one she's leaning against specifically looking like it came off the set of a Ghost Rider film.
"Hm? Oh, its you two. You have some more questions?"
"Yes ma'am-" Lucky starts—
"Please, don't call me ma'am. It makes me feel old." War cuts the fairy off with a wiry chuckle. "Anyway, I assume you want to know what I've learned myself so far?" When the two inhumans nod together, the Horsewoman continues, "Pretty much nothing. Me and my sisters all arrived yesterday and have been poking around and asking questions of those who actually want to answer. There's been no sign of the Maidens or the WEAPONs at all since we've arrived, and the last time anyone saw any of them was Sin WEAPON about a month ago."
"Sin WEAPON?" Gabriel asks awkwardly.
War sighs. "Yeah, the weakest of the WEAPONs. She came through and stopped for a steak a couple weeks back. After that, nothing." She shuffles a hand through her coat, pulling out a bag of beef jerky. "All we've been doing today is mostly just poking around physically and trying to be friendly with the locals. So just burning time and waiting for some backup that's better at this stuff then we are." Popping open a bag she takes a piece out and holds it up, "Jerky?"
"Yes please!" Gabriel takes the offer immediately.

You find yourself looking alone for Death. Your flight over the southernmost parts of the town a leisurely float between structures and off the main roads. "Haven't found Death yet... but from what you guys are saying I don't think she'll have anything to add." Sighing heavily, you set down next to what looks like an antique store. "Hey, Lucky? How reliable do Fairy Seekers tend to be? Not to be an ass or anything... it's just this is starting to feel like a wild goose chase."
"... No offense." Lucky mutters over the radio. "They tend to be spot on most of the time, with a small miss rate. Having the necessary talent to be a Seeker is rare, and even then it's not an obvious thing unless you know exactly what to look for. So we don't have many at any given time. Regardless though, even the few times they've been off mark it was nominally because Chronos was involved somehow. Considering they literally look through time."
"That doesn't sound like a healthy thing to do."
"It's not. Which is why there's so few Seekers. Overuse of the time watch ability can lead to insanity at the best of times. So we have to be careful with how we use them. Regardless though, this is strange. Are we sure we've found everything?"
"No clue," you reply. "I still haven't found Death yet, and she might have stumbled into something since yesterday." Huffing in frustration, you turn around the corner of the antique shop and down into the side alley beside it, "Once I find her, lets all gather back-"

It takes several moments to realize someone is screaming.
It takes several more moments to realize that someone is you.
"Shit! What happened?!" James?
"She just dropped as I came around the corner!" Who is... Death?
"Sit still, we're on our way!" War?
Slowly the feeling of worms in your brain fades to a blissful numbness, "W... what?"
"Solid Core! Are you alright?!" James' helmet blocks out the light from the setting sun as he kneels over you, "What happened?"
"I... lines... on the wall." It's hard to think. As if someone had taken a knife to your brain and stuck a live wire into the cuts.
"Lines on the wall—?" Miachael's voice trails off before a sudden shout of pain blasts your ears. "FUCK! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! WHAT THE EVER GAIA LOVING SHIT—?!" The human male stumbles backwards through the edges of your peripheral vision. "SHIT! No one look! God... No one fucking look!" Samael catches him before he falls over, very visibly ignoring the wall that both you and Michael had looked at. "God dammit it feels like someone shoved a fire poker into my brain, SHIT!"
"No one look at the wall, out of the alley!" James' orders manage to shake everyone out of the sudden stupor that had dropped on them, his broad arms lifting your petite form from the ground easily even as your wings and weapon fade into sparkling motes of light, as if sensing his desire to help you. Gabriel in turn also helps Samael pull Michael out of the alley.
Sadly though Lucky... isn't so lucky. On her own way out, her subconscious curiosity wins out and glances at the wall as she turns. Her own burst of swearing sounds remarkably like someone took a sports whistle and plugged one end into a vacuum before turning it on full blast. Thankfully though, the fairy doesn't crash, Aquilla catching her before such, and carries her out of the alley.
"The fuck was that?" The mentioned elf growls. "I've never even heard of something that could lay a magical girl out just by looking at it."
"Lines..." You mutter through the fading numbness. Thankfully the pain doesn't come back, though you're still reeling enough that your thoughts are jumbled. "Red lines on the wall. Something... felt like worms in my brain crawling up my nose."
"You're all damned lucky that's all that happened."
The sudden new voice draws everyone's attention immediately.
She's not one of the tallest girls you've ever personally met, but she's one of the most... filled out. The long braid of hair is just short enough that it brushes her ankles but not the ground, while the half skirt attached to her hip sways in a very distracting manner. "Had any of you a weaker mental constitution then I'd probably be filling you full of holes right now instead of talking."
"Not really something you want to open with there." The Horsewoman you recognize as Death returns. "What the hell was it they saw anyway?"
"It was a Sign." Sin replies simply. Everyone looks at her waiting for elaboration. "... From the blank looks you're all giving me, I get the feeling none of you know what a Cosmic Sign is?"
Lucky mumbles something that has Aquila adjusting her grip on the fairy. "Care to share for the class, Lucky?"
"Signs of the Cosmos," the Fairy utters softly, before grunting. A swift tap on Aquila's arm has the elf put her down before she continues stronger. "More commonly known as Cosmic Signs, or simply Signs. They're a kind of language that's... sentient in a way. Or at least that's the best explanation anyone has ever managed for them."
"A sentient language? That's new." Michael mutters from where he's sitting on the edge of a potted plant, rubbing at his face while holding his helmet in an off hand. "How the fuck does a language become sentient?"
"It doesn't." Lucky replies simply. "Cosmic Signs are more ideas and concepts than actual words or phrases. The difference to regular concepts or ideas though is that they're... kind of like universal constants? Something like that, it's hard to explain." Grunting in frustration, the fairy crosses her arms and taps a foot against the ground. "Every now and then you'll come across an idea that is shared perfectly between different species without a need for jumping through translation hoops. Each of these... 'super ideas' gain traction in every species capable of complex thought. Divides of time and distance meaning nothing to them."
"Ideas that all species share? Like what?" Gabriel asks innocently.
Actually... that's one you can answer. "Gabriel." The Angel looks to you. "What is a Hunter?"
"Someone that Hunts?" She... asks more than states.
"What thought leads to that conclusion? Does it come from what the children were taught?"
Gabriel frowns in confusion for a moment, before her face suddenly spasms into a frightful understanding.
"A Hunter Must Hunt." Lucky's words carry a kind of weight to them that is impossible to miss. Especially with the symbol you saw earlier. "This is one of the many truths that all species share, no matter how far apart they are."
"Cosmic Sign," James mutters. "Signs that the universe is interwoven with itself via thought."
"Or signs of Cosmos' consciousness." Lucky 'confirms'. "These Signs are powerful. In a way they're not all that different from Divine Beings."
"But aren't there Divine Beings that represent concepts though?" Pestilence asks. "Are those Cosmic Signs?"
"No." Lucky shoots her theory down immediately. "Conceptual Divine Beings are representations of concepts. Think living ideas. Cosmic Signs are more the bridges that these Concepts create between themselves into greater ideas. The primordial Concepts are powerful beyond measure, but it is difficult for them to interact with us because they're too pure. Signs though don't have that limit and are capable of interacting directly with us via thought constructs or physical bridges."
"... That doesn't sound good." War grumbles. "What happens if a Sign interacts with a mortal?"
"Identity Death." Sin WEAPON replies. "At best." She leans against a car parked along the road, arms crossed under her breasts as one of her boots softly taps at the ground. "Anything short of a Divine Being of interstellar scale runs the risk of too much information being downloaded directly into their minds. Strong Wills, such as these three, are capable of resisting the download and keeping themselves together, but damage still occurs. Other ways around it also exist, but none of them are pretty, and none are a hundred percent without risk."
"And those risks are far more severe than just having your mind annihilated on contact." Lucky states with all the finality of a gunshot. "Physical mutations would be the least of your worries. Spiritual degeneration, or even rampant spiritual mutation are also possible. The more Signs you understand, the more your soul and mind are twisted into new ways of thinking and operating. Eventually it can lead to death, or being twisted into a monster far worse than you can imagine."
"The God of the Unrivaled Sun, and the Beautiful Monster of the Moon are both prime examples of that." Sin comments. "When they fought the original Hunter Sign, the battle left them twisted into the Abyssal Horror. Forever fused into one being that exists in such pain it has no higher thought. Nyarlathotep mercy killed them some time afterwards."
So it's a good thing you... what? Had a strong will? Or was it something else that allowed you to see the Sign and not get driven into a gibbering wreck, doomed to froth at the mouth for the rest of your life? If one of these things could drive a pair of gods insane and mutate them into... something else just by knowing, then what chance did you have?
"I still have one question though." Samael's mutter draws everyone's attention. "This Sign... why the fuck is it here?"
Silence as everyone mulls it over.
"That's... actually kind of why I'm here," Sin answers. "Gaia says there's been rumors of the Moon Presence being active. Add in the fact Magmos recently relayed to her that Sil told him that she's been in contact with Oedon, we've all come to the conclusion that something fishy is going on. Gaia sensed an... absence in this town for a few weeks. I'm here to find it, and if possible, kill it. Or at least I was."
"Was?" You ask.
"Yeah. Only a few minutes ago, the absence vanished. As if it knew I was coming... which should be impossible but..."
"If it was one of the Signs, then it's likely because you were hunting it that it knew," Lucky states, drawing attention again. It's only now though that you realize her eyes are looking a little bloodshot... Do yours look like that? "If your action falls under a certain purview, then the Sign can and will know about it. Especially if it directly relates to them or something they're paying close attention to."
"... That makes a depressing amount of sense," Sin grumbles. "Dammit—! Since the Sign ran I guess there's no more point in sticking around, is there?" Sighing, she stands up, pushing off the car she had been leaning against hard enough to make it rock, but just as she turns to make her own leave she pauses. "Actually..."
Then turns to you.
"Since we're both here already... Angel had a lot of praise you for you. Or at least as much as she can praise anyone." Dread fills your gullet as the Horsemen all suddenly take interest. "Wanna spar? I don't know when we'll have another chance, but after Angel said a whole five sentences on you, I can't help but wonder."
... Well. Shit.

...So. I can't help but notice the only two people negatively effected by this Sign are the two with abilities that no-sell Sin* and that those are the two abilities they lose.
*Sin can't fly from her sheet, and that seems basic enough that we'd know it, so Supremacy Zone no-sells her ability to damage Nepgear and the auto-intercept combos with Sin's 20 APT to let us crush her with stupid amounts of damage.
Memory of Light is a little more questionable but given her build and what little I know of her inspiration it seems reasonable to assume her gun shoots magic bullets and thus is no-sold by MoL's immunity to magical damage.
Didn't you say before that the ability was called "Greater Summoning"?
Also, (for the sake of the ability bible) could we please get an actual description for it beyond 'better than Summoning and worse than Grand Summoning'?
...well this turned weird pretty quickly. Are the God of the Unrivalled Sun and the Beautiful Monster of the Moon the ones responsible for the Solar and Lunar Exalt expy pair? And who's Oedon?
This is definitely an interesting opportunity. I think we should take it, but if we do, I think we should upgrade our defenses again. Sin has a LOT of Attacks Per Turn, and she has two mystery abilities n her sheet. Combined with how she has a Death Affinity, and she might be able to pose a threat to us.

So; thus gun is scary and yet not. Danmaku gives +0.25x10 damage for 3,500 Damage per attack. 20 APT means 70,000 Damage per Turn. Against most anything that would be devastating. Team GEAR facetanks it. Nepgear is flat out immune to any damage less then 5,940 (10,395 if Segarite Core goes first which it normally does). Echo of Peace drops it down to 1,225 Damage for her teammates which is within the Base Resilience of Gabriel and the human trio. Lucky's MM adds enough to her Resilience that she basically always blocks it and that is without factoring in that her MM is doubled due to her headache. The only person who can't tank these hits all day is Aquila the least OP member of our team.
That said two blank abilities that we know of mean that everything can change. No idea what Yunalesca may involve but Hail of Lead probably further increases her attack damage. Possibly a 2x bonus since the 2x synchronization bonus for human soldiers is called Hail of Lead. Could just be a case of repeating names though.
Defensively speaking we know nothing. Well not nothing; we know she has some bullshit defensive ability (probably Yunalesca) since Sin's Base Resilience is N/A. The details of that though are completely unknown so nothing we can really do other then throw stuff at her and see what sticks.

Part of me wants to Intercept her weapon with Starshine just for all the beamspam, but it's pretty poor form to open a spar with a Spell.
The most normal opening move would probably be to retract our barrel and Intercept her gun with our gun.
In that form, our gun has Unstoppable, so it should tear through her attack even if she has some hidden way to make it way stronger (like using the huge difference in APT to sync together multiple of her actions).

Oedon's namesake, along with the Moon Presence and all the stuff surrounding them, are based on/come from Blood Borne. Oedon is a formless god of blood who starts a werewolf apocalypse as a result of wanting a baby.
The Moon Presence... not much is known about it in bloodborne. It's the final boss, and seems to be a God that hunts Gods. The Moon Presence's prey in Bloodborne(which the PC aka The Good Hunter, being their hunting hound/weapon basically), is Oedon's unborn child, Mergo.
Hmmm... a question for Sin WEAPON while she's here, probably after the spar. And at a fair distance from our team and anyone else. We've encountered something kind of similar in the past, so I'm curious how these signs relate to what we know of [Peace], and the language of Communion.
Its hard to explain but the Signs in-universe are complex ideas that are shared across all species without contact being necessary. They're nowhere near as strong as proper Conceptual Divine beings, but its easier for them to interact with lesser existences without requiring dozens of filters or jumping through more hoops than the Olympics.
Oedon in this setting is the idea of Form. Shapes and geometries. The Moon Presense is the idea of the moon's... Presence.
Edit: Also, yes the Sun and Moon were the Beings responsible for Solar and Lunar.
@Crystalwatcher - Just to be clear (for future plans) who exactly is going to be involved in this spar with Sin? Just Nepgear? Team GEAR as a whole? GEAR + Horse(wo)men? At first I thought it was just a straight Nepgear vs. Sin fight but the status descriptions at the end make me think more people are involved.
Well, I for one am in favor of fighting Sin, since it'll give us a good way to see how we're holding up compared to the Modern Top 10.
