Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

I have a feeling that a lot of top tier combat ends in stalemates since both sides cant really kill the other. Insight's seems a bit too squishy for when AoE starts getting thrown around.
 
Can't Interrupt spells normally. This has been mentioned in the thread already.

There must be some kind of response to this then, or Red Rose wouldn't be taking Insight into battle against someone who can casually throw out AoEs that'll kill her for sure.

I mean, Echo of Peace certainly helps, but not to the point where you can casually survive even a single "5K damage hit", let alone "This is the minimum, it gets higher, and they spam this" hits.

Michael would be fine. James is... Debatable. (The reading of his rule says that even if it's not an attack aimed at him, if he'd take it, it's "Automatically block and counter). Gabriel is fine, Lucky and Aquila are fucking dead, Samael might be able to survive if he has Shell active by riding Echo of Peace.)

With Core Purge... (50m radius)

Which means as long as Nepgear knows to target just the Seals with her IFF we can basically instagib them turn 1 IIRC.

5% of current hp * 75 so uh 4200-> 210 = 5% of current hp * 75 = 15750

Which actually is enough to totally one shot the seals IIRC. They're like 4k? or something.

All known or otherwise possible combatants involved lack a spell that Insight can't just duck behind a pillar and avoid getting hit by.

Insight knows when to just shut up and hide, so don't be surprised it she seemingly vanishes at the start of a fight.

Red Rose knows this, and I can promise none of them have one. Unless you count Nepgear's "smite all'yall bitches" mode.

With Core Purge... (50m radius)

Which means as long as Nepgear knows to target just the Seals with her IFF we can basically instagib them turn 1 IIRC.

5% of current hp * 75 so uh 4200-> 210 = 5% of current hp * 75 = 15750

Which actually is enough to totally one shot the seals IIRC. They're like 4k? or something.
Dont forget that Segarite Core triggers at the start of turn, so Core Purge starts at 7.2k hp or so, dealing like 21k dmg
 
Alright, here's a sample plan.

[X] Plan Be Prepared
-[X] Samael will take a few minutes to boost everyone present with every boost spell he has. He will also ask if he can grab some spells off the present Magical Girls, and if he can, he will proceed to use any boosting spells he gets off them. Before you leave, you will ask Rei to use her Chains of the Earth spell to shut down any hostile Magical Girls that show up until whether or not the possess a Control Seal can be verified, and to adjust her Overwhelming Presence so that it doesn't affect Juggernaut Core if she shows up, as she would probably instantly die, and you want to save her.
-[X] All the members of Team GEAR other than yourself and Sega will all stay outside with the barricades and aid them in destroying any Skeletal Soldiers. If any hostile Magical Girls show up, they are to slow them down until Rei can catch them with Chains of the Earth, after which they will be checked for Control Seals. If they possess Control Seals and did not work for the Unified Darkness before their death, Gabriel will activate her Presence of Light ability after designating the Girl friendly and her seal as hostile. If they do not possess Control Seals or worked for the Unified Darkness before their death, kill them or take them to interrogation as appropriate. Soldiers will keep a close eye on any captured Girls until the Control Seal has been destroyed.
-[X] You, Brilliant Key, Red Rose, Insight, and Solid Core will then proceed inside the mausoleum. Core Purge is not to be activated until you meet a Magical Girl who might be amenable to working for the Light. So if you meet another Dark MG like Sixth Heaven, blast them into smithereens. Kill any Skeletal Soldiers you come across.
-[X] If/when you meet a Magical Girl who worked for the Light, get the others to hold her down and/or knock her unconscious if they can. If they can't, activate Core Purge after designating the Girl as friendly and any Control Seals on her as hostile.

Ok, this plan gives everyone the ability to permanently kill any Skeletal Soldiers we come across, possibly nets Samael some new spells, and removes Team GEAR from the collateral damage radius, while having a basic plan of engagement for the enemy. The tidbit about trying to knock any resurrected Magical Girls we meet is because I don't know if our allies can do that, while possibly saving Core Purge uses for when we can hit multiple people at a time with it.

Okay, that's not too bad then. Especially if Samael takes cover, that plus Echo of Peace and Shell means that he can take a few stray shots enough that he can probably snipe from cover. (3K damage resistance is reasonably good, even if the overflow damage from a completely uncovered attack might still gib him if he leaves cover or somehow gets overrun)

"Pretty much. Insight's power here can tell her everything she needs to know of an enemy given enough time." The girl in question was now staring at you rather intently. "The idea is for me to engage any new girls and buy time for her to find the traps they might have. Then put them down."
"Indestructible... what?!"
"Umm..." You're unsure of interrupting Red Rose, but your noise draws her attention. Insight is looking a little pale now. "I... might have a way of freeing any of the resurrected girls."
"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL IS THIS SHIT?!"
Insight suddenly slumps against you as soon as the words leave your mouth, punctuating your statement with the moan. You blink and look down at her.

Also, this will be so much easier if Sam can grab a weaker version of Chains of the Earth :V

You might want to reword it to explicitly say where Sega is going.

Also, @crystalwatcher can Juggernaut's spell that bypasses Indestructible Core also bypass the magic immunity of Michael and Gabriel?

Chains of the Earth makes that extremely easy.

......Wasn't Gore the one who said, 'She's only going 2.7% of Light Speed you big baby?' If Gore is telling you your numbers are too big crystalwatcher then WE ALL KNOW you've gone to far.
 
Is it wrong that I kinda want to buy an upgrade right now just to fuck with Insight's head? Make her doubt the accuracy of her own powers?

We're currently capable of leveling up a spell or our weapon 3 times.

How's Empower work? Does it raise Samael's damage output, or all of his stats?

Also, Drive Boost, how's that work again? Does it let him multicast?
It gives him a Damage boost based on the MM roll. It also gives his attacks the Faith Affinity, which is positive.

She'll try, but you'll have to request it of her.

I admit it wasn't my brightest maneuver ever :V
 
Hmm, so if Samael starts popping his roids and buffs, then takes cover and snipes at the Control Seal, he could probably pop one in around three turns of combat. Possibly as few as two depending on how Faith + Purity + Hostile Divinity interacts with a Control Seal.

Of course, this means that we need to do a good job containing the AoE monsters without killing them first.

Right guys. So mandatory part of every plan. Ask Rei to try and use Chains Of The Earth and keep Juggernaut Drive contained until we return.
