Wait, that's a minus? thought it was a dash.
Yes. That was me as well. I was just unaware that demons, too, understood the basic concept of the moeblob. This actually came up a while ago when someone asked about how the different races viewed humanity and it ended with someone else declaring us the Moe Blob of Doom or something like that.
Really? Linky plz! I want to re-read them then.
Then link it tot he front page for creditz.
The purple part is the best bit.
Soooooooooooo... What was the reaction of everybody else on her level when she pulled this out?
I'm imagining her cackling because she made us so that when we discovered magic we'd immediately go out of our way to make our personal brand as conceptual and overpowered as possible.
Like, Gaia is a power-gaming, Epic Level D&D Wizard in the game of life for interstellar bodies and godstm, and we're her self-power-gaming, sorcerous Von Neumann swarm army.
And the other players mocked her for spending so much GP on her incredibly inferior life forms whose only advantage was endurance, and who only rarely even manifested magical abilities, and who needed so much babying in the beginning because they couldn't even walk without things around their feet and needed decades to become self sufficient, and who couldn't even duplicate without dying half the time, but Gaia planned for the long term! Where those prissy elves were messing about with their swords and fairies were relying on magic to do everything, we focused on cumulative effort! Our tools helped our children build more tools! Our knowledge advanced itself! EXPONENTIAL GROWTH, WIELDED BY HEROIC WILLPOWER AND RESOLVE! WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, HUH?!?!? WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!?!?!?!? ME, THAT'S WHO!!!!!!!! Uhh... *ahem* Right, done now.
Hah, say that again after a visit to three thousand feet above the ground in a light sport aircraft. Puts things in perspective. Really, I think she doesn't much care because she knows how little we're actually doing... Or because maybe she likes playing with plastic, like George Carlin postulated. Either or.
"Hi! I'm the being who created humans! I'm not even actively helping them out, this is just their autonomous capabilities. Goodbye, and have a nice day!"
*walks off, covered in the exploded heads of the people she just talked too*
@crystalwatcher, So... I'm going to try and guess why she's neutral: Is it because she doesn't really care about which side wins, as long as her favorite things survive?
Also, if a country were to just set aside a day to literally do some earth hugging, would her reaction involve more laughing or dawwing?
"Hey? You know that Construct Army I've been building for a while, GM?"
"Yeah, what about them-"According to these rules right here they all have character levels."
"..."
Congratulations! Up until this point you've been living a pretty average life. Literally. You'd get up, go to school, hang out with friends, and then head home to repeat the next day. That is, until a giant demon of unknown origin spawns in the middle of your neighborhood and slaughters everyone you've ever known and loved.
The mutherfucker had literally dropped onto your damn house in broad daylight.
The good news? You are saved by a magical girl! For a few seconds anyway.
For you see - the monster that spawned is a post-season-five super-boss. That poor little girl operating off shoddy season two magic is slaughtered like cattle, and promptly consumed whole.
Your everyone is dead, and the girl that was supposed to save you is a smear on the ground and a rumbly in the tumbly.
But wait! Turn out the reason this thing is here is you! You are a magical girl!
Are you a...
--Select Difficulty (Different character depending on choice)
[]Veteran - You've been fighting baddies like this for years. Well-known in the magical community you already have the heads of about a dozen Kings of Darkness under your belt. You eat bitches like this for breakfast. (Easy Mode... -ish. You start at high stats and abilities, but your growth is going to be slow going.)
[]Experienced - You've already been through a couple fights already! Your at least a third-season survivor with a good grasp of your abilities! Though... running might be a good idea here. (Medium - Good starting stats, decent growth potential, but there's a good chance you might bite off more than you can chew.)
[]Newbie - You're not even done with Season One yet. Your magic is paper thin to this thing, and you barely have any idea whats going on. (Hard - Low stats, weak spells... but your likely going to grow to be a real power house if you can survive this.)
[]FRESH MEAT - This is your first magical fight and your powers just woke up. Yeah, you're fucked. Hard. (Ohmygodwhy - You're the poor bastard that has literally just started the game and got their poor ass level warped to the secret boss chamber that only the Uber Pros even attempt to take on. If you manage to even just survive this, your name is going to be legendary. Somehow manage to kill this sonuvabitch? Your name is going to be synonymous with 'Hard to Kill'.)
Sadly though that's not all that's happening right now. Because the universe decided to make your day today the worst one you've ever awoken to the world gets in on this. And boy is it going to have a fucking blast with it!
--Select one (Determines Background Setting)
[]Masquerade? What masquerade? (Magic is a common thing. Very common. So the baddies invading Earth don't feel the need to hold back. Sure, it'll cause a ton of damage to what they're trying to rule, but the weaponry of a fully nuclear-armed planet are ready for them. So shit like this happens regularly, and the Normal Human Military has a good idea of what to do in this situation: bring in the tanks. They work closely with Magical Girls the world over as well as Good-Aligned factions like Light Fairies and Angels and so on, so you got tanks in the area and your town is a warzone.)
[]United Front! (Magical Communities are well-connected. If one comes under attack the others scramble to help. This means their enemies have a habit of banding together, but they are far better off together than alone. Similar to above, but no muggles joining in or backup from government sponsorship.)
[]Eternal Darkness... (A baddie won. Quite a while ago at that. Humanity are little more than slaves, and other baddies are trying to knock him off his throne. Magical Girls like you are few and far between. Hunted ruthlessly, the girl that had just jumped passed you was on a timer already. The Darkness is coming for you, and there's little you can do about it.)
So 'yall ready for this? Lets see if you survive!

The whole "Red ones go faster" thing has been going on for a while:Okay, Char Anazble is the "Red Comet" in the Universal Century Gundam timeline (Original, Z, ZZ, CCA, Unicorn, Victory, Crossbone, ...am I missing any?)
He pilots a red mech that is three times as fast as the standard mech, and the only difference is that it's painted red (okay, the thrusters are probably better, but that's the joke )
Now, in Gundam Unicorn, we have Full Frontal (Actually the dude's name) piloting a red mobile suit that's three times the speed and wearing the same mask as Char did, and he's referred to as "The Second Coming of the Red Comet."
So that's where Charlotte's name, MG name, and those two abilities came from.
Don't post it? I don't like it? It's terrible? Don't post it?So. I THINK I finished Magical Girl Silent Murder's sheet. I just have no idea how to align the text in the slides to the left hand side without mucking up the whole thing. Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms? Suggestions?
Oh, she's totally useless, probably because my desperate plea shaved a few zeroes off of her stats. Thank goodness.[accordion=bright|800]

If you could expand that to add in the abilities you would be a angel I swear it.ftfy
you had accordion beginning and end tags in the middle of the abilities slide
It was meant to be. I loved all the MG's that people made, but I noticed that they were all support or front-line characters. Nothing rouge based at all.
Should have the abilities. If you could expand that to add in the abilities you would be a angel I swear it.
You over-nerfed her, though. It was meant to be. I loved all the MG's that people made, but I noticed that they were all support or front-line characters.
Nothing rouge based at all. We haven't seen any rouge style MG's at all really, and I was curious as to how a character as potentially broken as some MG's, with their city breaking-country annihilating power, would be altered to fit a stealth or assassin combat style.
Silent Death was the result.
Huh....My parent's always used to say me not going to church would result in me giving my soul to the devil. I just didn't think they were right. Here have it as your just reward. *Holds out the glowing white orb of soul stuff*
I will use her for nothing more than an example of why girls like her wouldn't last long in this setting.
May I? PLEASE?!
I understand that. Even so, there's some execution errors. As for me over-nerfing her? This is Silent Murder the first time she's transformed into a MG. I followed the format for a Legendary MG that crystalwatcher linked me Original - Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest! | Page 196 so it should be right.
Fair points. I'm about to go to bed so I'll make my replies quick. We can continue discussing this in the morning if you want?I understand that. Even so, there's some execution errors.
You stripped the fog of two of its three properties, one of them being the most useful property. You also gave it the unstoppable ability for... no apparent reason. You also neglected to give her the Presence Concealment which is literally one of her most basic abilities, and utterly vital to her staying alive.
A more general error, you gave her weapon Judgement as an Ability, while it's an Affinity, and not one that she has either.
...I honestly forgot about that. I was talking about the DoT and massive speed debuff it applies. You are referring to the fog's ability to be easily manipulated and distort the sense of direction of anyone inside it I assume? If you believe that they would be part of her level one ability then I will agree with you. I just didn't want to overpower it since this is Silent Murder's first transformation.
I think that would be something like omnipresent.I gave it the unstoppable ability as I want it to be that. No matter the walls you hide behind, the shields you protect yourself with, or defenses you prepare, the fog will pass through them all without fail. That's where I was trying to go with it, but I guess the idea didn't transition well.
Well, in this case, I think it would be best to treat it as more of a guideline than a hard rule.I would have given her Presence Concealment, but the limit was two abilities, and to be honest Presence Concealment of Jack's level would be insanely high leveled. Sure she could start with a E or F version of Presence Concealment, but I ran into the ability limit again.
Fair points. In the morning I will make a new sheet for Jackie. Any other ideas or critisims you could offer? Also. How do you get that nice left/right side aligment without distorting the rest of that shelf?...I honestly forgot about that. I was talking about the DoT and massive speed debuff it applies.
I think that would be something like omnipresent.
Well, in this case, I think it would be best to treat it as more of a guideline than a hard rule.
See, Jackie has three skills that are really... inherent. You can't have Jackie be Jackie without.
Presence Concealment, she's sneaky AF.
Murder of the Mist Night, she's really good at sneak attacks at night. compensates for the hole in PC where it drops if she prepares an attack.
And Info Erasure, no one knows shit about Jackie-chan.
A lower level of PC because she's brand new, yeah, sure, but leaving it off entirely just seems... wrong.
Essentially, you just do everything in the default left enlightenment, then go back to highlight the pic and name and shift them to center.Fair points. In the morning I will make a new sheet for Jackie. Any other ideas or critisims you could offer? Also. How do you get that nice left/right side aligment without distorting the rest of that shelf?
Considering that 90% of all the magical girls we've seen have some manner of health restoration... maybe you nerfed it a bit far.
That makes sense. That does seem to nerf it a bit far.
Any active healing ability (including something like putting a bandage on a wound) or exiting combat work to break it, perhaps?
Er, the QM appreciates them.
So who wants to talk about the concepts behind their characters? I mean, it's all well and good to see other people making potential MGs, but I'd like to see something of the thought processes that went into making them.
There's been pages and pages of them. A few were fine, but it was flood of them, and the associated discussion. Is it wrong to want a break from them for a bit?
Yes, yes it is.There's been pages and pages of them. A few were fine, but it was flood of them, and the associated discussion. Is it wrong to want a break from them for a bit?
