You want to go right. Your everything is screaming at you to go right.
"We're going left." Everyone that is conscious looks at you in surprise. "Basic maze logic: stick to one side and you'll eventually find your way out. So if we keep left we shouldn't get lost."
Gabriel nods to your logic and stands. Sam and Mike simply share a look and shrug before doing the same. Wasn't like they had any better ideas and you knew it.
Michael still winds up carrying Hero WEAPON over his shoulder though.
You take point and lead you
r team down the left tunnel towards the next chamber, Gabriel blabbering along about miscellaneous things you paid little attention to. Everything from comic books and manga to recent movie releases pass through your ears. After a while though she moves onto the politics of the Unified Light.
"Well... we're technically run by a council. Three representatives of each sub-faction gather in an undisclosed location and they work together to decide what the next action to take should be. Once they decide on the next action, they send the general instructions of what they want to the different leaders and let them do with it as they will. The self-interest of each faction tends towards us all going with it most of the time."
Not exactly something you cared all that much for. Interesting, but not enough to keep your attention. What she goes into next though does draw your attention.
"The reason Heaven and Hell hate each
-other as much as we do is attributed towards how we're both born. Demons are born from broken promises, which goes against Angels since we're born from prayers. It leads to a natural hate existing between out species. The more important the promise, the stronger the demon that is born from it."
You blink in surprise, "Really? I did not know that. Do the broken promises have any sway in what demon is spawned?"
"Only the significance of the promise. The little things, like telling someone you'll be along in only a moment, spawn what the Akashic Pillar have dubbed 'Class Zero' demons. The harmless prankster types like Imps and the like. Bigger promises, like promising someone you'll take them on a trip or something, can spawn Class One demons. The big ones though, the promises and agreements between nations can spawn Class Five demons. So while Heaven won't ever run out of angels because everyone prays in one way or another, Hell won't ever run out of Demons because promises are broken all the time. It's simply the way it is."
Endless demons. You hoped like hell that didn't lead to this war raging for eternity.

The next chamber you come across is different from the last two. Instead of a magical circle, you find eggs.
A lot of eggs.
"Fuck me with an evergreen."
Crucified in the middle is none other than Goddess White. And to your horror she had a facehugger wrapped around her head. Of the eggs in the room, four were open, and three more facehuggers lay on the ground at White's feet.
"They're using her as a baby farm." You nearly vomit at the thought... but then Samael makes it worse. "Wait... we've only killed one xenomorph. Where are the other two?"
The thought barely finishes possessing
before you spin in place and lung to the side, slamming into Gabriel and knocking the Angel aside. Your instincts prove their worth as a xenomorph's tail spears through right where the Angel had been standing not a moment before. You and Gabriel hit the ground, and Samael is already firing into the creature, emptying his clip.
Michael jumps to the side himself, dodging the second xenomorph as it tries to tackle him but just barely fails.
Then you have your gun up and firing at the same xenomorph yourself in a blaze of bullets. The extra-heavy rounds spark off its carapace as Michael draws his sword and swings it wildly at his would-be murderer. The high-quality steel crunches through it's shell with enough force to bury itself into the creature's skull. Acidic blood sprays across the ground, and the trapped blade melts in place.
Michael dances away from the dead nightmare as Samael finally manages to blow the other one's brains all over the place in another spray of gore. As
its corpse falls to the ground you scramble to your feet. "Is everyone alright?" A whimper reaches your ears
and you turn and find Gabriel clutching at her face. "Gabriel! What happened?"
"I think I got sprayed when Mike lobotomized that thing... it hurts
really bad
,"
is her whimpered reply. You move to kneel next to her, ignoring the veritable fountain of shining blood that is dripping to the floor. Carefully, you draw her hand away from her face.
It's ruined. By sheer luck her mouth, nose, and eye are all unharmed, but the damage from the acid trails up from just above her top lip, across her cheek and the side of her eye to her forehead. Her blood gives you more than enough light to see the horrible wound in all of its grizzly glory.
"How bad is it?" Her voice is fearful, and you can't blame her. Had she been even a little less lucky, and she could have gotten a crippling injury... and this was only her first mission.
"Could be worse..." Is all you can think of to say. She tries to grin at you, but the pain causes her to flinch. You grimace.
"Um... guys? I think now might be a good time to make a plan!" Michael's voice brings both you and Gabriel back to reality, and you turn: The entire hatchery seemed to be coming alive. "What are we going to do?"
You think fast. "If these things make it into the city's pipe systems, then we can kiss it goodbye. We need to stop them here. We can't leave Goddess White either or they'll just spawn drones to dig their way out. We blow the chamber entrances and take White with us. Then hope like hell we can let Command know before the facehuggers can dig their way out or something." And with that you charge into the chamber. The rest of Team GEAR behind you, with Michael quickly picking Hero up from where he dropped her, somehow untouched by the acid sprays
, unlike Gabriel.
You all manage to somehow make it to White before the eggs around you open fully. It's a simply matter to cut her down, and lug her over your own shoulder before Samael starts chucking what C4 your team had around the chamber from where he's standing. Wait.
"We had C4 this entire time?" Sam blinks and looks at you.
"... Yes?" You had nothing to say about that. You shrug, and Team GEAR makes a break for the last exit. Gabriel smacks the first facehugger that manages to escape it's egg from the air in a spray of acidic blood that fails to land on any of you
, the magic of her sword burning away the toxin before it can destroy the blade.
Just outside the chamber, Samael turns around and thrusts a hand forward, "
Armageddon Pulse!" A wave of force sweeps back into the room, and facehuggers running across the ground are reduced to scattered particles in an instant.
Then he drops the last of the C4 at his feet and you all sprint down the tunnel right before the explosives go off.

"That was anticlimactic. I was kind of expecting some super dramatic fight or something when we found the egg chamber like in the movies."
"She's mine! I won't let anyone else have her!"
"Hey, don't dis it. We're alive
, if a little messed up."
"You really think you have that right? You're garbage!"
Gabriel whimpers her agreement through her own pain. With Hero WEAPON and Goddess White in tow Team GEAR trudges to the next chamber in a bit of a slump. Gabriel's injury had stopped bleeding, but the fact th
at a chest burster
that was currently inside White had you all on edge.
"I don't care! If I have to kill her to make sure no one else takes her then I will!"
Didn't help that you were also hearing what sounded like yelling coming from up ahead.
"If you touch her, then I'll kill you myself!"
"Well... sorry. It just gives me a bad feeling that the dramatic fight is still coming and I'd rather just have this all done and over with."
The sound of a blade sliding through flesh.
"Dude, say something like that and you'll-" Something small comes flying our of the darkness, but it falls short of your group and hits the ground with a wet 'plop'. You all jump but none of you make a move as it rolls to a stop at Michael's feet.
"Is that..." Gabriel doesn't finish her question because you all know the answer to it: its a head. More specifically, it's the head of a young girl with short, strangely purple hair. Her eyes are frozen wide open in surprise.
Team GEAR says nothing. Hell, you don't even share a look, before your all charging down the tunnel at full tilt. The sound of your greaves echoes across the stone tunnel as you race forward.
The chamber that you come out into is the same as all the other ones you've come across. The difference this time though, is Nepgear is not strung up off to one side. The magic circle that had dominated the scene was dead an unresponsive, light instead given off by several wisps of unknown origin.
On the ground next to your unconscious magical girl is the headless corpse belonging to the head that had flew through the tunnel you had just come from, it's blood splattered across the ground in a massive spray. And right over Anastasia Boheart is a near identical copy of the same corpse.
Her resemblance to Nepgear is striking, and you feel your muscles freeze.
"Ah... sorry about that. Didn't think anyone else was down here really. Came to fetch my little sis, you know how it is."
Her voice is lyrical. Her eyes bright. The girl radiates a charisma that almost has you believing that she was the embodiment of everything good in the world simply from laying eyes on her. You stand, stunned.
"Wait... you guys must be the Team GEAR that she was talking about before Crazy-Me went... well... crazy." She smiles sheepishly, and scratches at her cheek. "Don't think it'll fly but... would you guys let me out of here without a fight?"
The question snaps you out of your awe, and your eyes trace over her swiftly. It takes only a moment but you can instantly identify what she means.
You recognize the seal for what it is from Nepgear's description of her fight with Candy Heart. You feel your heart drop to your gut. "Depends... you willing to come back with us and Nepgear?"
The girl's expression turns sad, and you know her answer. You sigh and lower Goddess White to the ground, as Michael puts Hero WEAPON down. As Gabriel readies her blade, and you lift your gun, the girl lifts from her side a huge sword.
"The name's Sega Dreamcast Boheart. I'm the reason Dad wasn't ever allowed to name anything
ever."
"Nice to meet you. I'm James Richard. These are Michael Rodriguez, Samael Balier, and Gabriel. We're Team GEAR."
She smiles at you and readies her blade.
