Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

You know, I've never actually seen any indications that Ana is seeking revenge.
It's actually just kind of there. Why are we fighting? We've not been overcome with some vast altruistic urge, that I noticed. It's just that we can fight, we've got nothing better to do, and they killed literally everybody we love.

So we fight.

There's another thing I saw here, in this post, that maybe you guys didn't...

Since chocolate was being such a bully to poor Nepgear, I decided that she needed something to balance it out. Then this came out a little sad, too, but I think I like the catharsis of it. Next one will completely lack srsbsns, I promise.

Talking Hugging It Out
Must... Counter... Fluffiness...

Bloodborne don't fail me now...

"...Beasts all over the shop... You'll be one of them, sooner or later..."

Sega dodged frantically as Father Gascoigne's axe tore through the space she'd occupied mere moments ago.

"Stop! I don't want to fight you!" she cried desperately. Gascoigne's only answer was to try to take her head from her shoulders.

She jumped back to avoid the next two swipes, then jabbed at his knee with her cane in an attempt to disable him. He knocked aside her strike and pistol whipped her, making her stumble back, stunned.

Gascoigne took advantage of her opening and charged forward, dragging his axe across the ground in a spray of sparks, leading into an upward swing that met Saga's hastily interposed weapon and tossed her bodily through the air.

She cried in pain as she impacted one of the tombstones littering the area in clusters, and barely manage to roll out of the way before Gascoigne's axe came down like a guillotine.

She fired off a hasty burst from her gun, the quicksilver bullets slamming into Gascoigne like stinging hail. It only made him flinch for half an instant, but it was enough to allow her to scramble to her feet.

She backed away. This was impossible! She couldn't fight him, he was too strong! There was now way she could win. She was going to die here.

-A smile before she headed off to school-

No.

With a flick of her wrist her cane segmented, lashing out across the distance to shred the brim of Gascoigne's hat, forcing him to jerk back lest it shred his face as well.

-A heartfelt apology that a cupcake was all she could manage-

No, she wasn't going to die here.

Another flick of the wrist and a sharp rap against the ground and the cane was back in rigid form. Gascoigne circled her, a bit more wary. Good.

-A smug grin as she lay wrapped in a cocoon of blankets-

She wasn't going to allow herself to die.

Sega and Gascoigne danced, striking back and forth. Carefully timed dodges to allow a quick riposte and blasts of quicksilver to interrupt attacks allowing her to slowly whittle down the stronger man.

Eventually, there was a lull in the fight, Sega huffing and panting from exertion, Gascoigne swaying a bit unsteadily on his feet.

The Hunter sniffed the air, and spoke his first words since the start of the fight. "What's that smell? ...The sweet blood, oh, it sings to me... It's enough to make a man sick."

A guttural growl issued from the man's throat as he bared his teeth in a snarl.

Sega grit her own teeth and jabbed another blood vial into her thigh as Gascoigne roared, his clothes splitting as he transformed into a beast.

She leveled her blunderbuss, firing at just the right moment to interrupt his lunge, leaving him open long enough to dart in and ram a fist into his gut. She snarled as she wrenched it free again, heedless of the spray of blood and viscera that accompanied it.

She would not be stopped here, she would not be stopped ever. She was going to find a way back to Anastasia even if she had to beat Cthulu himself to death with her goddamned pimp cane to do it!

She dashed back, getting some space between herself and the beast that used to be Gascoigne as it staggered to it's feet and growled at her.

She readied her gun and flicked her cane into whip mode, the "come at me" going unspoken. The beast obliged.

On a scale of one to ten, how traumatised is Nepgear right now?
Depending on the ratio of WAFF omakes, silly omakes and embarassing omakes to painful omakes.

As you can see here, we have dedicated omake writers who like to break her, with intermittent omake writers trying to make her feel better.

The conclusion is obvious.
1) Can we have Nepgear take a vacation, see some professional help, meet the children she saved and maybe go to school after this?
Oh god no, vacations means SPECIAL ENEMY CROSSOVER episode!

So we fight.
I've had a different interpretation: she fights because she thinks she must fight. To her, Magical Girls fight. The possibility of not fighting, of living a normal life, doesn't occur to her.

Whether this be ingrained social conditioning, or her instincts taking a more sinister bent, I have no idea. But she fights for the Light, because she thinks that doing so is the right thing.

Remember, joining the Darkness was a possibility for her if she went independent.

Which post is this?

C'mon guys, the real question is, why would we join any faction other than the faction with #1 strongest girl in it?

Because everyone knows most powerful girl is best girl.

Also b/c orbital bombardment when humanity?

More seriously, @Projectile Kaleidoscope dreams are done in the order they we're posted in, and I feel the progression would work better if mine were between choco's and yours. Would you consider deleting yours and reposting it after mine?

They're not, last time I checked.
They are. I've gone through and looked at post numbers, they're sequential.
Judging by certain comments Crys has made, that's intentional.
It's also a big part of why we made the Omake planning convo, so we could collaborate to get which comes first in optimal order.

crystalwatcher a question, why would Children of Nightmare join Unified Dark?
Even if they have some common grounds, I would think in general they're chaotic aligned since their motive are varies.
Would make a great third party attacking both sides and everyone.

The general self-imposed insanity that they suffer from collectively. Their actual goals are separate from the rest of the Unified Darkness, but its more efficient to them if they ally with them and split off later.

Meanwhile on the moon:

"I said I'm working on it!" screamed Magical Girl Limitless Horizon.

Behind her a towering structure stretched from the lunar surface. An edifice that reached so high that it was more hanging from the spin of the moon than supported by its own strength. The final piece of a factory that would soon burn the meaning of the word "Ortillery" into the hearts of any group that dared set foot on Earth.

About the order, I think it's alright the way it is. Doesn't seem worth having to repost.

Bubble Trouble

Gaia was a very busy person; there were always disasters happening left and right, of course, and some of them she couldn't ignore. There was the not nearly occasional enough occasion of stupid people being stupid, and then there were the issues of being the personification of a planet that less weighty existences probably couldn't comprehend.

Still, though, she set aside plenty of time to watch anime, hang out with her WEAPONs, or just curl up in a nice hammock. She understood the importance of people, and she understood the importance of relaxation.

Magical Girl had helped to save the world, or close enough as to make no difference.

As the world, Gaia tended to appreciate that kind of thing.

Rest well, child. No more nightmares will disturb you this night.

XXXXX

Before Magical Girl Solid Core even opened her eyes, she knew that she was safe. She felt as if she were on a bed of clouds. This was probably because, she determined, she was actually on a bed of clouds. Looking above herself, she saw that the clarity blue sky was interrupted only by the occasional beautiful rainbow. She stood up, giggling at the bounciness beneath her feet. She saw bubbles erupting from a hole in the ground a few feet away, and she made her way towards them. The clouds beneath her acted as a trampoline. She would have liked to share the experience with Sega, she thought, but her mind gently turned away as she caught a bubble between her hands. It burbled at her happily before it popped, reappearing in the distance.

Nepgear paused, looking around. There was probably something that needed to be done, something necessary or productive, but no. She immediately realized that there was nothing more important than doing exactly what she wanted; chasing that bubble. It made a taunting loop in the air as it dashed away.

Glitter erupted from her feet as she dashed after it, the clouds solidifying in accordance with her will. She looked ahead at the bubble's most probably path. The candy corn mountains were in the distance, and the soda streams slithered down to where she ran. She could probably trap it against the Wall Made of Really Cool Swords, where it couldn't escape without fear of popping itself.

An instant later, both she and the bubble were near the Wall, though Nepgear paid the translocation no heed at all. Then, of course, the bubble floated right into a sword and popped.

Nepgear gasped.

Hearing a tinkling sound, she turned to see the bubble turn pink and blue and yellow mockingly.

"I'll get you yet!" she shouted. It was mostly bravado, though. How could she catch something that could escape at any time? She took to the air, not noticing that she was flying at a much greater speed than usual, but the bubble simply whizzed away.

The bubble blinked at her.

Of course! She had to make it come to her of its own volition. But what did she have that it wanted? Further study of bubbles would be required.

She was back at the bubble geyser. Bubbles erupted from the cloud, rose a few dozen feet, changing color and sparkling all the while, dancing with each other, and eventually popping to start all over.

It gave her an idea.

"Hey, guys!" she said. "Want to help me catch that troublemaker?"

One of the bubbles broke off from the rest, and Nepgear noticed that it was very pretty. All the boy bubbles were probably floating all over themselves to get her attention- was it a she?

"I'm sorry," Nepgear said. "I don't know what pronoun to refer to bubbles by."

The bubble winked at her that it was okay.

"Right. Then let's go!"

Putting on her most determined face, she rocketed back to where the rogue bubble was, her newest companion orbiting her happily. There it was; right on the other side of the soda stream. It was hovering more cautiously now. Ha!

"Hey," she called. "This lovely lady can't go on a date with you if you stay over there, you know."

The girl bubble blinked in protest, then consideration, then acceptance. The rogue bubble crossed the river, and then they were back at the geyser.

All of the bubbles shone in happiness that their companion had reunited with them, and Nepgear nodded with pride.

"Right," she said. "Magical Girl Solid Core, away!" Then she flew into the sky in a Superman pose.

And it was good.
