Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

So wait...why did Gabriel's sword just melt from the xenomorph blood? It should be especially resilient against this sort of thing.

And is Gabriel unarmed now, or what?

Also, how did Goddess White manage to get not only subdued so easily from a mere fall (even if there was an ambush afterwards, I'm still shocked she went down to that even under the circumstances), but get restrained so easily? She's been out of it for a while now, despite a shitton of xenomorphs bursting from her chest. How do you remain unconscious through that? And how come she couldn't break free?

Also...what the hell happened to the virus? If Angel WEAPON is dead, doesn't that mean it fell into Nightmare hands? Isn't that instant-bad-end?

This does raise the question of why didn't she manage to kill the Spawn of Mayhem at the start (which was weaker than even a Hell Beast)
My guess? She got caught with her metaphorical pants down. Goddess White's Time Lord Armor can be bypassed by surprise, so why can't other Magical girl's defenses?

Moving on, I've edited my plan so that Rei is called. If we're allowed to control her, then when she arrives she'll use Chains of the Earth to hold Sega still. That should be enough to keep her both alive and from escaping.

As a side note, I'm actually kind of surprised no one's commented on my plan's stupid name yet.

...OK, hold up!

This is starting to go into the realm of bullshit. Sega has been resurrected by Ni? Whatever the hell for?! I mean, clearly we are missing stuff, but why would Ni raise Sega from the dead? She's not powerful enough to be a powerful magical girl, from what we can tell from her sheet that is, we hardly know anything about her, which includes Nepgear herself, so why did Ni raise her and how did she even know who she was if Sega really was a MG?

I mean... Maybe the Unified Darkness has a few human magic users to use the Record to find out about her, but it's not that accurate for a single person. Just... Whaaaaat?

Um, this isn't her as a Magical Girl, if I'm reading things right. This is her human form.

this:
It didn't. reread that bit again, the blood was burned away before it could do damage.
Cite:
Gabriel smacks the first facehugger that manages to escape it's egg from the air in a spray of acidic blood that fails to land on any of you. The magic of her sword burning away the toxin before it can destroy the blade.

I think @SaltyWaffles is confused because of this:
The extra-heavy rounds spark off its carapace as Michael draws his sword and swings it wildly at his would-be murderer. The high-quality steel crunches through it's shell with enough force to bury itself into the creature's skull. Acidic blood sprays across the ground, and the trapped blade melts in place.

Well going by this:
A handful of figures stand in front of you, partially blocking the sight of a small portal of which a pair of Demonic Soldiers are lifting a coffin through, while eight more soldiers stand next to a pile of four more.
"Well. Good thing we're done here... but I'd feel bad if I didn't leave a parting gift."

The Demonic Soldiers pick up the last of the coffins, but one pair carry their burden to rest in front of Goddess Red without a word.

"Desires of The Impure World."

A wave of power so great that you nearly fall to your knees from the weight of it. Team GEAR, being purely normal humans are unable to resist, and do so in your stead. A crack, and the lid of the coffin falls off, revealing a horrifyingly familiar sight.

A young girl climbs from the inside of the coffin, bare skin of her back filling your tunneled vision, and she kneels in front of Goddess Red.
a couple Magical Girls were buried in the same area and Goddess Red decided to just grab them all. This is probably the start of an Evil Army of Resurrected Magical Girls.

I don't think anything Team GEAR has can hurt the control seal without killing Sega. Shooting someone in the neck with a fully automatic weapon is not a precise scalpel. On the other hand, bringing Sega in alive would please the egg-heads who want to look at the seal.

I'd like for the human members of Team GEAR to form a wall to keep Sega away from... come to think of it can she even hurt Goddess White and WEAPON Hero? Anyway, the humans form a line and then Gabriel flies in and chops off a limb. Repeat the limb-slicing until Sega seems pacified. If she's dead by then it's a shame, but we can't bring a competitive Sega and haul three knock-out magical girls at the same time.

A flaw in this plan is that once again we are stuck in an area that limits flying. :( There was the mausoleum (which we could fly out of), the lab basement (which we couldn't), and now the Xenomorph tunnels. Those Flight levels are starting to look like a noob trap. Hopefully Gabriel can charge/fly in without spoiling the aim of the human soldiers.

So - Plan The Gate Is Down? James distracts and tanks, Gabriel swoops in to scoop up Nepgear while one of the other two calls for Rei, and then we hightail it out of there in a fighting retreat?

As far as we can tell, Ni's resurrection isn't particularly costly since she used it on Candy Heart fairly casually.

Also, Sega has to be quite powerful if she's able to dispatch a Greater Nightmare.
From stats alone she's a match for White Knight, if not for WK's ludicrous 15 attacks per turn. The average MG of Carnage and Truth's level would get crushed.
[X] Plan Sega-ing Alive
My concern is that it heavily depends on Rei being around.
Its a golden opportunity for the Unified Darkness to claim a few top 10s in one sweep, I can't imagine them not sending reinforcements. Especially when they've already bagged 5 of them — they just need to stall/deal with Rei.
It's further supported by Sega's appearance and her comment on being surprised that someone else was down here. Unless the commander is really taking his time, there may be trouble on the surface.

Plan Mercy
[x] "It would break Nepgear's heart if we killed each other, so...if you behave yourself, then when we win, we'll see about just disabling you and taking you along with us."
-[x] Have Gabriel target the magic symbol on her collar, whilst James Tanks, the others support and aim to disable.

Others with more time to examine the math can determine whether there's a more optimal way to plan this.

Well, Gabriel has that Presence of light ability, It might do something. Team Gear can always shoot to disable too. Shoot the legs, arms, that kind of thing.

Also, from the Fatal Gear update:
Control Seal: 500 Base Resilience, no dice, +2,500 Epic Existence, -5,000 Hostile Divinity Exposure = 2,000 Extra Damage

That's the Control Seal getting hit by Core Purge, which did 1500 damage at the time.

We can't be sure until we get a look at Sega's resilience and Damage reduction abilities, but considering she's a Boss encounter or a group that does around 15.000 damage a turn, she probably has loads of resilience.

So, here's what we need to do. Focus on slowing her down by hitting her legs and arms, discover her resilience, if its higher than the Seal's then we shoot it until it goes away, if it isn't then we simply take Nepgear and get the fuck out of dodge. The next time they meet, Team Gear will have their new armors and Anastasia will have an INDESTRUCTIBLE CORE and loads of offensive power to wipe out that Control Seal.

I say we just call in Rei to sort this shit out and delay Sega for her to come down and chain her in place so we can deal with the seal more easily. That and grab Nepgear and run and meet Rei halfway.

And how would they know about Nepgear's identity and dead sister? It hasn't even been a month since we joined up with Rei! Either some bullshit is going down, or the Unified Light has a serious information leak to the Unified Darkness that sent over Nepgear's personal details. Which would kinda make sense, now that I would think about it.

... I'm eyeing up the commander, personally. It fits really well. He's in charge so he gets a lot of information to access, he can order Rei around to mislead her, he can mislead teams with false information and send the wrong people to the wrong places. I mean, he DID send Team GEAR to this lab after all, and held Rei back from coming too. And he also stopped anyone from going into the underground nest, which 'coincidentally' bought time for the Nightmares to multiply and get ready to infiltrate the city through the sewers, and did this despite Rei being right there and perfect for the job. He didn't say ANYTHING about what the lab was researching and said that he was classifying the mission as a minor job due to lack of information from command, which should be bullshit in and of itself given how seemingly important and devastating this virus was.

He's a traitor and a mole. Plain and simple. I bet that if we look back through the quest we can find even more shonky stuff involving him.

And good point about Sega slicing the Nightmare apart. I totally missed that a Greater Nightmare would take an epic level or Divinity level MG to dispatch that quickly. Yeah, she's totally holding back. Shit.

[X]"It would break Nepgear's heart if we killed each other, so. . ."
-[X]James tanks while the rest of the team collect Nepgear and run.

Because the other side has access to Crystalwatcher's notes, and doesn't feel the need to hide this.

That's the only excuse I really have for this.

Consider, as well, that Sega isn't seeing our guys as monsters--but as exactly who they are and she's trying to kill them anyway.

In other words? She's not being mindfucked, she's doing this of her own free will.

That, or she was so fucked up of a person to begin with that she had absolutely nothing wrong with murdering people who just happened to show up at a somewhat embarassing time.

Either way, I suspect the only non-zero chance of victory here is Rei showing up--and that'll probably lead to "Okay, now I just need to transform into Solid Drive--and what's that? I've had enough time to power level thanks to Ni that I can kill you? Sounds like a plan!"

No, she's still being mindfucked. That's what the seal does. Same way Gray does what she does without seeing anything wrong with the fact that she's helping the ones she fought against.

Candy Heart didn't see our people as people--she saw them as horrible monsters attacking her family.

Sega? She's identified our PCs exactly as who they are.

She's not being mindfucked. She knows full well that we're friends of her sister's. she doesn't care. It's "Let me go with her or we fight"

She's been raised from the dead, but she's not being mindcontrolled or mindfucked, she knows exactly what she's doing. And the last we saw of her body was being spirited off by Ni.

And considering that Ni can easily control a Top Four level agent, unless Sega is secretly the most powerful being in the world with axiomatic immunity to mindfuck, she's willingly helping someone who's willingly working with the Unified Darkness even after getting what she allegedly wants.

I actually tried to make it so Rei showing up would be more like an insta-win condition for us. My plan focuses on limiting Sega's mobility and slowly whittling her down to the point where she's no longer a threat so we can take her in alive. If Rei shows up, it'll just make things way easier for us.
Sorry, misread the last bit of the plan.

focus on preventing her from attacking too often by sniping her weapon.
Is this through Snipe shot? otherwise Samael's ability complements the plan nicely. We could also get Samael to save it for when Sega tries to pull of an ability.
Snipe Shot
-Allows Full Auto to sacrifice 3 hits to cancel an enemy action.

I said Gray, not Candy. Gray is fully aware who and what she's fighting, and she does it anyway despite it being a literal reversal of what she used to stand for.
And cite that Candy thought we were monsters? I know there was an omake to that effect, but I don't know of a WOG.

You're making rather big assumption: that she's seeing Team GEAR as humans and/or the "good guys.

Knowing what we do, she probably things that Nepgear has fallen in with the Unified Darkness, or if we consider the presence of the Maidens, some sort of cult. In which case, getting her away from Team GEAR is a good thing.
