Would it even technically be cosplay?
She would be a guest of honor, at the very least? They are serving aboard her, after all.Wonder if Zuikaku would end up sitting on a pedestal or something?

She's the boat so it is impossible for her to be her own guest at her own home. She would be a guest of honor, at the very least? They are serving aboard her, after all.

In the Zuizui video clip, she's seen doing the zui on top of a warship mast and on the head of an Abyssal. A pedestal is not that farfetched.
They would definitely give her one of the better officer's quarters and add a shrine considering she's basically the ships' kami, I'd expect the crewmen to also leave offerings and pray at her for good fortune.Um... What I meant was that her crew would enshrine her or something. Basically, something like her own royal room.
A Smol. In WWII. On Halsey's desk. Ow my ribs! This is a bit late but set before Pearl Harbour. This is an idea based on a few pictures that have been on Sky's discord.
Admiral Halsey was fuming. Being sent to reinforce Wake Island's airfield was something that needed to be done, but not by a fleet Carrier! His mood wasn't helped by the fact that his orderly was late with his morning coffee.
"Sorry, sorry! A new crewman saw me and thought I was a stowaw-" Began Enterprise as she barged into the Admiral's Quarters.
Halsey interrupted her "I gave you a simple mission. Get me some coffee in five minutes. How long has it been?"
Halsey hated to yell at Enterprise, but he was determined to instill the importance of being on time to Enterprise.
"Seven minutes, sir." She said as she put the seven-minute old coffee on Halsey's desk. She looked sufficiently down by the rebuke that he decided to change the topic. Raising a young girl was something he hadn't expected when he joined the Navy.
"Who was the new crewman? We're still trying to figure out how it is that people can see you, so it's important to ask him about it."
Enterprise paused, thinking about the incident.
"I was so busy trying to make it here on time that I didn't ask, but I know that the Chief who helped me out knows who he is. Do you want me to go ask him?"
Halsey nodded and grabbed his coffee. "After that, I want you to walk around and see if anyone else notices you. Find out who they are, and then report back to my cabin at 1100 sharp. No excuses."
"Yes sir!" said the carrier, happy that she wasn't going to get yelled at for fifteen minutes, quickly leaving the room in case the admiral changed his mind.
Halsey sighed, and took a sip of his coffee, then started looking at the reports on his desk from last night. Finding nothing of interest, Halsey's thoughts turned back to Enterprise. Halsey had been impressed with her efforts to expand the knowledge about … Spirits? Ship's souls? Nymphs? "We really need to come up with a name for them." He muttered and finished his coffee. Leaning forward, he began to look at the list that he had compiled about the crewmembers that had seen Lil' E. as he studied the report, his mind began to wander, thinking up theories about these shipgirls, wondering if they could survive the destruction of their hull. He didn't want to think about sending a ship to the breakers, or sinking one as a target if it meant killing those girls, but knew that keeping them all around would be impossible. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice a small tug at his sleeve. Looking down, was the most baffling sight he had seen since meeting the young female spirit of his ship.
A small version of the young female spirit of his ship that shied away from his gaze.
"Prise!" it said, chancing a glance up at Halsey.
Halsey closed his mouth and leaned back. As the miniature Enterprise looked at him. Slowly, he reached out with his hand to touch the small being, just to make sure it was solid and not his imagination. When his hand failed to pass through it, nearly knocking it down with an indignant shout of "Prise!" he decided that he wasn't seeing things. Now he wanted an explanation.
"ENTERPRISE!!!! GET IN HERE RIGHT NOW!"

Heh. Min-E Prise is hilarious. I suspect Halsey would tell Thompson about this, whose likely response might be a flat "What." Nice omake!"Prise!" it said, chancing a glance up at Halsey.

In Japan maybe, but that would be on the nice side of things. Imperial Japan was not a nice place to be, and could easily go in a much darker direction.
<sigh>That would be where the 'ship's kami' would be housed logically once the captain determines that she is an actual spirit and not a stowaway.
Something something such misfortune.
True. But the IJN thought of the Fusos as obsolete, even after their modernization, and used them for punishment assignments. Personnel preferred to be assigned to a destroyer before going to the Fusos, even if they were battleships, which a priori is a more prestigious assignment.
Not too likely. They would have more exposure to stories about stuff like that than the Americans. Disrespecting even minor kami is a great way to get yourself and your entire family fucked up really bad.True. The only remarkable thing they did was to assist with rescue after Mutsu's turret exploded. But all the missions they got assigned were second or third rate, which implied that the brass didn't trust the Fusos to do anything useful in important missions. This had to have an impact on the crew's morale, and on how they would view the Fuso shipgirls if they manifested.
"Hi! I'm the kami of this ship, Fuso!"
"Oh, goodie. You're assigned to room... North-23. Put your things there, and come back to report for duty."
"But that's the latrine! Why do I get that as my room?"
"We thought of assigning you Maintenance room 2, but it's full of important things, like brooms and mops. You'd have no place there."

It does, however, make for an amusing image.if they can see her then she can touch them
that mean throwing them overboard for that kind of disrespect
having the ship literally throwing you out is a very bad rep to have
