Talk about a cliffhanger. Lex down, Sara hurt, Wasp kind of a heavily armed eggshell (they made trade offs to have that big an air group on that small a displacement). Counterstrike on the way, but that's FIVE IJN fleet carriers over there. They need to recover their birds and regroup until the York sisters can get there *
* Small note: until they plank over Sara's forward flight deck they will be limited to having to go backwards to launch aircraft. But as long as the rear deck/arrestor gear is intact they can land aircraft over the stern while getting out of dodge at flank speed
Bigger problem will be aircraft handling. If the forward elevator was knocked out Sara only has one other elevator—and using that elevator is, um, not recommended while landing aircraft!
Even with combat losses Wasp is going to get mighty crowded. I wonder how long it takes a ship girl to "link" (be able to see what the pilot/aircraft can see)? How long Wasp will take to link to a Lexington bird, say?
Not to mention the emotions involved when Sara links to an airplane/crew that launched from Lex…
