...Anna is badass. Really, really badass. Did she seriously break the MC's super sword attack by flicking the blade into bits as he was swinging it?

But on a meta perspective it is kinda bad, all the omph of making Anna the one to beat has lessen and her bragging meant nothing in the end. Might be the start of using Anna as the Worf or the downward spiral to mediocrity that usually happens to the strong pilot archetype in these kind of settings.
Ranked provisionally #1 out of the 300. I highly doubt Worf Effect will be an issue.

Yay for protagonist powers and plot shields, i guess?

You feel the heat suffusing through your frame, through Kandakara, and gather it.

Expelling the energy gathered in your frame into Ame no Murakumo, you contain it with your Impeller Field.
Is he doing what I think he is?

He managed to lose his entire Impeller Field? Did he use it all up into that strike at the end there?
He invented a melee version of our Impeller explosion strike.
On pure instinct. Holy shit.
Both shoulders dislocated, pelvis fracture, bruises up the entire length of both arms- you cut the information feed and scan his head.
Ow.
She faces you, looking up straight at you again, staying silent for a moment, "Koujirou will be fine Valkyrie, but you need to fix your eyes. Don't greet him with that kind of face. Make sure to get some sleep."

She turns away at that and you wonder briefly what she was talking-

Oh, right. You quickly set Durga to repairing your eyeballs, then retract your frame when you are done.
I think she meant to wipe our eyes, but Anna....

Well damn. Koujirou may be a generic idiot harem lead, but the boy's got some grit in his gut.

My "extensive" research indicates that the name of our hero's frame is a reference to Japan's Three Sacred Treasures.
Ame no Murakumo? The world shakes as distant amusement that threatens to shatter your emptiness. Seriously?
And Ame no Murakumo is the sword, better known as Kusanagi. Presumably he's also going to get stuff named after the mirror and jewel before the season ends. The mirror sounds like something sensor-related, but I have no idea what the jewel could be.

So, I'm just gonna sit here and laugh for just about ever, 'cause the alternative is crawling to the nearest corner and crying like a little girl.

Soooo, I take it I'm not the only one creeped out by the fact that after the whole thing, Anna's simply standing there? I mean, guys, the older sister, the ELITE Valk just about shut down and the junior Valk FAINTED!

Where the FUCK is Anna from?!

...so, did she lose her eyes, or was it a matter of having cybernetics in the place of her eyes?

Edit: Liked Veekie's stuff better.

Nice fight, but damn that ending. Goddammit Koujirou protagonist to the max. Making everyone worry and all that.

On one hand I can agree with Anna that him getting a "hit" is good on an IC perspective. But on a meta perspective it is kinda bad, all the omph of making Anna the one to beat has lessen and her bragging meant nothing in the end. Might be the start of using Anna as the Worf or the downward spiral to mediocrity that usually happens to the strong pilot archetype in these kind of settings.

Eh. I doubt it. According to the Simulator Anna (Group Two) won and from Koujirou's reaction:
Anna glances down at her raised arm then back up at you thoughtfully, before raising her other arm to mirror the gesture, giving you a double thumbs up. "…That one counts. You won. Good job."

Bullshit.

You pass out.

He agrees with the Simulator. Despite how far he pushed himself Koujirou knows he didn't win. He didn't hit her and he didn't even, as far as we know, damage her.

So it's really just Anna going "Wow. You've really impressed me so I'll let you have that win." when in reality she was very much the winner.

On the bright side that will definitely push Koujirou to train hard, probably too hard, in an attempt to catch up with Anna so he can truly win.

Man, fauxchan's really gonna have a hard time deciding whether Anna or Koujirou is best girl after both of them got to show off their badassery like that.

The jewel is the sensory one. The mirror that reflects the sun seems more like shield material. The magatama is the awareness of the soul.

Protag OP.
Aforesaid "extensive" research said that mirror was associated with wisdom and mirrors in general with reflecting the truth, which sounded pretty damn sensory to me, but that makes sense as well.

Shonen protags being OP is pretty standard. At least this motherfucker earned it with blood.

Mhhh, the viewers dont know yet that Anna is the Number One, so they propably think that the stuff Anna did is just the regular bread and butter for Valkyries and the ones at the top are even crazier.
I am sort of sorry for them. I am salivating at the thought of whole armies of this bullshit clashing in animated form. They are going to be disappointed when they learn that Anna is just an outlier.

I think she was crying but misinterpreted the request to 'fix' her eyes.
Yeah. Oh Anna...so dysfunctional you don't even recognize when you're crying, and just runs a system restore on your eyes.

She needs a hug.

Actually, by the terms of the match he did win. She had to have taken Impeller damage blocking that, even for Anna.
