The way I'd love to see the hypothetical Valkyrie Core tie-in game go:

...

(That game mode still does not pull the anime's story punch, though. There really isn't a win condition. Every time you die, the game lingers on your broken frame, and every time you survive but fail a defense round, it lingers on you alone in front of a grave marker. Those are the only endings, and the second one is canon.)
I really like your ideas. It's kinda a shame this is just a forum thread on the internet, I'd actually love to play such a game.

all of this wants me to run a Valk game as an RP either with the Official RPG rules that got made up or tweak Fate (since that's what I use to run most of my forum RPs)

And maybe... if you get far enough in that mode, level up and git gud and learn to play flawlessly to the point where you can eat numbered Types for breakfast, where you're ridiculous enough to solo bosses that your whole squadron couldn't take in campaign mode... you might notice the nameless little girl's gotten bigger. And maybe, though you can't see her face anymore, her frame is starting to look a bit familiar somehow.

And eventually some bright spark on the internet finally puts it together, ideally right around the time the reveal hits in anime: Infinite Battle Girl is just as canon as the rest of the game, and holy shit Bread-chan is Infinite Battle Girl.
I like this, and it is a good idea for a game.

That said, someone's going to hack the files to what a valkyrie with the full skill tree is like rather quickly, so it would ruin the surprise for the more savvy people on the internet.

Still, there would be a certain level of lack of confidence and it would help people get invested into something that could very well be a coincidence and spark many debates. Is it really Anna? Or is Anna just supposed to be that good that she represents a fully specked out Valkyrie? *Insert more crazy theories here.*

I'm reasonably certain that most of the internet that paid attention to the debate would hone in on something at least close to the truth, but people would be talking a lot about it and trying to prove or disprove the theory, which would be good not only for Anna's character, but the show in general. Meanwhile the game provides a nice level of depth to Shuri and Sandra, the two I think are the other most interesting characters along side Anna, which makes me even more happy. I can easily see people becoming more interested in the series through the game than the tv show in such a case.

Database_Master: Guys I think Anna is the nameless girl from the endless wave modes o the game.
Landside: .. .... wouldn't that mean she soled endless waves of monsters long enough to finish the skill tree?
Database_Master:Yes
Landside: ... oh .... ok that explains a lot actually.

Keep the surprise up by making all the internal files of the game refer to the endless wave girl by some of the callsigns she eventually gets but aren't revealed in the anime until much later due to security clearance.

Names like "Coroner".

I was more thinking about someone managing to find the art asset of Anna in the game's files rather than simply looking up text. Then figure out where it goes, and start connecting the dots there.

I don't know how easy that would be to hide, mind, but I can see people trying to find it and if various shows that have mysteries in them have taught me anything, it's that there are people out there that are willing to go the extra mile to do that sort of thing and put the pieces together earlier than expected. Of course those same fandoms have also taught me that while the leading theory will usually be mostly correct, there will be plenty of people offering lots of competing theories to keep it in check of most people being sure.

Ultimately, it would depend on how fast the series became popular to how likely people were to figure it out before the anime reveal.

I 100% love Looking Glass' idea for the game.

Hell, why not have the anime be a spinoff of the game? People latch on to Shuri and complain about her becoming a haremette for this no name dude, then when Anna shows off Durga someone twigs onto the similarity and finds out what a maxed skill tree EMM-Chan (Endless Mission Mode - Chan) looks like by going into the code and then the fanbase loses their shit that Endless Mission Mode was actually canon.

If the directors want to get really cheeky they could name the mode ANtagonist Annihilation and have a chibi of the main character of that mode, that be spoiling the joke however.

That was my original idea, and that the fight scenes in the anime would actually reuse assets from the game, albeit doing things they would only ever do in cutscenes originally.

When the talk of Valkyrie Core game originally came up, it was brought forward to make a VC mod to already existing game.

It could be a game.

...It could be a game.

...I seriously want to make this a thing.

People who are gamedevvy/especially game art people, meet in the Discord???
Err, hmm...

Good luck with the art assets, decent ai, about 3-4 different game types (Let's see here, with have the air combat simulator mechanics, the rpg mechanics, strategic scale combat simulation, the social mechanics), and the debugging.

Like, this game can totally be made, but if you hope to actually get it made you'll probably need a rather large and diverse team, or to start reeling in your expectations and drop some components.

Sadly I only talk to a singular 'game devvy' type person and am not one myself, so I would not be of much help. At best I would be a good wall to talk to that offers very little input. Not to mention I don't know what my free time would realistically look like to allow me to help even on that level...

Good luck though?
