Yes, septic tanks can last an entire year.
Some systems require pumping every few years or sooner, while others may be able to go 10–20 years between pumpings. An older system with an undersize tank that is being used by a large family will require much more frequent pumping than a new system used by only a few people.

Since Anna doesn't skimp on doing things, it'll probably be one of the better ones; she's in the future, they ought to have a good design available.

Ultimately, you shouldn't focus much on it. Focusing on architecture will bog you down with a lot of research that doesn't answer your questions. Maybe make the questers build them and just leave it in the background afterwards? Heck, it's the owner's responsibility to keep those clean, not the builder's.

But why did you decide to make it a quest? I'm... not really sure it would work out well. We know what's going to happen; Anna's terribly depressing background. It doesn't seem like an appealing premise that would draw in questers; they usually aim for good ends, not breaking the main character. It just seems like something that would require a lot of GM railroading.

Research is never a bad thing, especially when you want to create a believable setting. So yes, it would be a good idea for you to study that.

I also suggest you study stuff like the effect of war on civillians and places that where under siege (Fun fact, I actually did some minor research on PTSD for an omake I haven't gotten around to writing yet)

It was originally one of the ideas Avalanche mentioned in the thread long time ago, long before I was part of this thread, and Kaizuki decided to pick it up. Our favorite kitty started it, but then had to drop it, most likely due to RL-reasons. And now, Kaizuki is aiming to restart it from the beginning, sometime in the future.

Here's a link to it, and you can find the link also on the first page. Kaizuki explains in the second post of the quest how it works. Anna Gaiden [BAHHSCQ Spinoff]
 
Like bombings are pretty awesome. Excellent ego-boosting for authors, and just as good for involved contributors. Always good to see. :) Just not often that we see someone go through and like 12k posts. :p

This is both a pair of posts made using the the one table, and also making the user name and avatar bit via a table instead of as a single picture. For those curious as to why I put these into a [size=1] tag, then changed the size of the fonts back to being larger in the tables, it was to reduce the height of the lines in the tables for the names and ranks.

Also there is a second of the latter post to show it with a table made quote for a more consistent look, this also benefits from the size 1 tags, as without the line noting who was quoted would be rather thicker and less appealing visually.

It also occurs to me that using tables, the signature and post time/number/quote/reply parts could be put in separate cell rows with borders rather than using the [hr][/hr] tags.

Well, the contents of that post were directly copied from this post. The issue seems to be not just quoting the future, but having one's post occur in line for that quote rather than being where it should be for the time period posted. More likely, it's a typo on Familiar's part, though I've now corrected it in my post.

I am going to learn so much from studying this. You solved so many issues that I was running into.

About the table cells instead of [hr][/hr] lines for the signature– I was messing around with that but I was having spacing issues. Perhaps you'll be able to solve that one as well.

Well, here's what I got by just changing it over. Mind as I noted before, setting the font size to 1 outside the table seems to help with the spacing of certain things, so that might be where you were having issues if you hadn't thought to do that. Also, made the signature cell slightly darker, since that is the case with the theme I use on SV.

Edit: Added some dots as an example of an easy online/offline indicator.

So, I went ahead and made a spreadsheet to simplify making fake forum threads. It lets you set up multiple users, each with their own avatar, title, signature, etc. then assign them to posts you can make (for which you assign a time of posting, and the contents of the post). As an added bonus, it even lets you add thread titles and page buttons. A sample of the output currently in the thing is below. At present the sheet should be set to view only, but that should not prevent downloading it or copying it onto one's own drive.

Edit: Also, if someone wanted to be really fancy with the fake forum thing, they could simulate multiple pages on separate tab slides and make the page numbers direct you to the different slides.

Now then, I wonder if anyone is up to the challenge of trying to do the whole forum bit from earlier using fake posts like this.

Edit: Also, if someone wanted to be really fancy with the fake forum thing, they could simulate multiple pages on separate tab slides and make the page numbers direct you to the different slides.

God dang, that thread generator spreadsheet is well beyond me. The coding, that is – the tables you set up are pretty user-friendly. This is amazing.
