Unless it is to pet or hide in her hair. That I fully support.

Hello SV, Anna sure is good at that recruitment thing for her social skills.

I just read the whole thing and .. it kinda ruined silly harem anime for me. Why?
Because Valkyrie Drive anime is actually a thing.
Unsurprisingly, it features boobs, magic battles, lesbians, tits and nothing more.

Understanding people is hard? Let's outsource it! Fortunately we have a party member, who sacrificed optimal combat ability for a legendary skill of Diplomacy. Anna has been dropping a lot of hints, culminating in a major freak out. Sandra implicitly believes she should help, if she can.
So, in Sandra we trust.

We need to get Shuri as a package deal, after we integrate Sandra as a human-to-Anna translation module.
What to say to Shuri?

"Of all my comrades I trust you the most" - Of course! She is least likely to die in a combat situation, so naturally Anna distrusts her the least.
And it's only combat that really matters...
"It's not that I like you.. " No, she doesn't like Shuri

Koji is an acknowledged moron so he can't be the head. Sandra's the team captain and strategist so she's the head. Koji would be like ... the right arm or sword arm. Setsuna and Yukari are clearly the legs. Shuri shield breaks with her impeller so she's the shield arm. That leaves Anna as the impenetrable impeller field chest and woobie center of the team.

I figure the flight's best fighter is gonna be the STRONG ANTAGONIST-CRUSHING RIGHT ARM HOO-RAH ANNA-CHAN. From what I've seen, genre convention is that a not completely fucking useless MC is the heart of the team.
 
Kouji has plot armor and narrative powered luck manipulation.
He doesn't need to actually DO anything, just be there.

If metagaming was allowed, Anna + Kouji could win the war right away. As long as Kouji is close enough, Anna is protected by the plot armor and can freely shoot Wave force.
As long as Kouji is stuck with Anna, any attack that would damage Anna, would definitely kill Kouji. And that can't happen because plot armor. ;)

This is a -1 world. Plot armor won't protect you as much as you think.

You... you want the elite female warrior side character to be put in a life or death situation beyond her capabilities where she'd need to protect the protagonist, while she has access to a self-sacrificial super move?

Are you trying to get Anna killed in a heroic sacrifice to motivate Kouji to become the strongest? :p

Really don't get the talk to Sandra vote. A generic 'hang out' feels much more in character and isn't based around some "she wanted to talk to us?" when she didn't tell us anything of the sort.

Sandra and Shuri happen to be a lot more perceptive than our idiot protagonist and Setsuna.

Sandra has just right personality to go forward and try to help however she can.
Maybe she can't do a thing, but right now she has initiative.
