Can... anyone actually cite the WoG where we know about whats up with our missing HPPs?
Yes, use the search interface; search "Only This Thread" for the phrase "Heavy Particle Projector", for posts only by "Avalanche". You'll get his WoG somewhere in that listing. I have the next 5 hours to sleep before a 12 hour shift at a construction site, so I can't do it myself.

Also, you guys are thinking too damn hard aboout how to make more Heavy Particle Projectors. The UN gives every valk, as standard issue, a Particle Projector. Scaling something that has the same basic function into our Heavy Particle Projectors should be infinitely easier than dicking around with random scraps and salvage hoping to convert it into tools that took Anna years to develop previously from those aforementioned scrap and salvage.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand lets not forget that wave force is a win condition, people. Finishing GGAP and flying the lunar defense mission for it is a good end path.

That's EXACTLY why we need other options matured. It's the finishing move, the win condition if it succeeds, and game over if it fails. It's zero range, so getting into position to use it is a full mission in it's own right.

We need to be able to save it for the one enemy that is immune to all other approaches, which is why we need to expand our conventional options so that the self sacrifice last resort actually can be used as the final resort.

Calling it 'zero range' while (possibly?) accurate, is also slightly misleading, because A) 'zero range' covers everything within a hundred meter radius, and B) It's an AoE EverythingDies sort of technique. I'm also fairly certain it's how Anna destroyed Saskatoon Breach.

Also, does anyone have an actual quote or something, telling us that Wave Force inflicts actual damage to us? I know it drains the Impeller, which is almost the same, but I don't recall mention of doing actual harm? Is it in the character sheet, and I've just been overlooking that one phrase?

You need to be point blank, remember our engagement ranges are in MILES. 100 meters is basically snuggling next to it.

It was mentioned at some point outside an update. Wave Force attack currently blows off the limb we fire it from.

Our fundamental problem is that there's far more than one Type Zero.

While it's possible to kill them without Wave Force, not even Anna is able to do that reliably.

We're closer to modifying Transcendent Offence to not be a suicide move than we are to being able to take down Type Zeros without it.

The thing is Transcendent Offence isn't even usable without supporting skills to get into position for it, and things hadn't escalated to multiple Type Zeroes in one fight yet.

Well, unless Coke Zero turns out to be one :p

My guess is that other types of wave will have range and higher levels will be less suicide. Conjecture, yes, but this move is based off of the equivalent in Knight Run, those red and blue spiral waves the Anne and Pray can shoot.

Given the speeds we're training at, if we want Transcendent Offence up and running before said escalation occurs, we need to start now.
Timeskip is upcoming, so not really a concern.

The reason it's progressing so slowly is because we're literally passing day by day.

Wave Force is in fact the only thing training at 'normal' speed, in that it takes you months to get far. Anna with almost any other training type masters a skill in days. Which is why not developing them doesn't make a lot of sense. They'd be needed before Wave Force need rolls around.

Right. Search. I'm dumb.

You had 10 heavy particle projectors, you lost 5 through your assault on Saskatoon, donated one to the UN for study so you still have four of them. They used to be different weapon systems, but you turned all 10 into Particle Projectors, it was very much a 1 kick 10000 times thing, though they do have variable firing modes.

KAY.

Yeahhhhh its in the sheet...

Static Wave:
Level 1: Upon success roll, remove all available Impeller Field, all available Higgs and take minimal frame damage to deal enormous damage at Zero range.
80/350 to level 2

WHO'S THAT VALKYRIE?

Still the lights and details to do. It'll probably be finished in 1-2 days, depending on how motivated I am.
It looks great, but the halberds in use by Valkyries don't actually work like actual halberds do. They aren't contact weapons, they emit plasma which increases their range and damage.
Also, melee weapons are rarely actual physical contact weapons. You might hit someone with a plasma blade connected to your melee halberd, but actually trying to whack them with the halberd itself? Generally not a thing.
(If you remembered this and chose to portray it differently for stylistic reasons, sorry.)

Anna's in particular started out as a welding torch that has since become super high-tech after sufficient time in the Impeller field. So I'm assuming a beamsword look.

Melee Halberd, Plasma Lance (Handheld or emitters on fingertips)
Melee combat, zero range, moderate power weapon. Output of blade is continuous. Cuts through high temperature and can overcharge to add mass/energy negation principle to blade.

Halberd it might be called, but it's also specified to be a Lance of some sort, which might explain the inclination towards something more spiked as opposed to a flat blade of some sort.

We actually saw Anna's melee halberd for a couple frames:

With a slight flex of her wrist, she is holding a blue spear, four and a half meters long, that rips right through Yukari's Impeller whips. A melee halberd of some type.

So, yeah, plasma lance -> burning spear.

That said, the image is awesome. I do think that the spear you've illustrated works great with the rest of Durga's aesthetic; she definitely has that kind of graceful curvy pointiness everywhere, and I can see the inspirations when I go googling.

Yeah, for the halberd, I was hesitating to put some plasma blade, with the physical bits only being guides, though for now, this wasn't that great visually.

So... yeah, I'll see.

Maybe.

Speaking of which, Avalanche, did you ever expect your little quest to become so big?
Nope. Literally wrote the OP to this as the RP I was taking part in was too slow in going anywhere. Thought I might get 20 readers with maybe half that many voters and that would be it. Honestly for the most of the first 5 or six updates, that was correct then something happened. Dunno what that something was really and more and more people suddenly started reading.

Speaking as someone who popped up after the first 5 or six updates...

The head-line reminded me a bit of another quest where the MC didn't want to be the Anime Protagonist.
And it also had like 50+ Pages at the time, so I was like, well, looks like this is long enough to be worth checking out.

I read the first update or two, and was like 'wow this is good stuff' and ta-da, +1 to Player base.

And then I guess word of mouth?

Yeah, I thought the title was pretty hilarious (it still makes me chuckle every time I say it, actually), and because I was currently also reading the one about a girl desperately trying not to be an anime protagonist and the one about an anime antagonist that reincarnated in another anime as a side character, I figured this one would even out the mix.

Then I read into this, and it was friggin amazing, so I've been avidly following ever since. You're incredibly good at worldbuilding and character development, @Avalanche.

It's possible a bunch of people waited to see if you'd stick with it. Maybe not consciously, but quests have inertia - they pick up players just by dint of not dying.
