That'll end horribly while the instructors lounge will just be a waste of time
Except two things, the instructors told Anna to drop by the elite lunchroom if she wanted to get away from others, as they'll "understand what she's going through" (paraphrasing of course).

Next is the fact that the quest is based on anime tropes, disappearing after an obviously emotionally difficult episode is totally within the conventions were are assumed to tacitly accept. It provides evidence for the protagonist to mull over either for a heartfelt discussion over her past, or a sudden revelation for later to make him understand what drives Anna and push himself harder.

After all the goal isn't to "fix" Anna, it's to make her into a main character.

Ouch, that was really REALLY bad. Would probably have been a disaster if not for Shuri and Sandra together having enough experience and social skills to just make it bad. As others have pointed out, it was bad enough that we completely suppressed it.

For some reason I thought that scenario would start later, and not at the height of our trauma. I'm not sure what actions to take, but easy social actions sounds good. We DO NOT have the ability to handle detailed discussions about the exercise while keeping discussions away from trauma topics such as our past and what we did during parts of it.

So I would suggest doing something calming that avoids those topics. That means staying avay from parts of the team that don't know when to drop a topic. (especially Setsuna)

Things I would like to do but don't think is a good idea now.
* Try talking to Durga
* Investigate what we need to reconstruct our lost particle guns

Different from the chaotic display of aerial prowess shown by Anna yesterday night, where chance and luck could be blamed for at least some of what happened; this was a silent affirmation of skill and strength by both Aces.
It's interesting how Valkyrie combat has caused the military to revert to more of a Great Man sort of thing. Aces are heroes and champions, looked on with reverence and awe. Even with the same loadout, an Ace could stomp a dozen Valkyrie 3rds into the dirt without even trying.

I bet there's a Valkyrie Ace trading card game down in the Arcology.
Setsuna didn't really think she'd get along with Sandra at all if the foppish flight leader kept the cushy positions for herself.
Setsuna: "Don't think about boobs don't think about boobs don't think about boobs."
It was the boobs wasn't it? Boobs and hair probably. Overdeveloped girls, the true enemy of all other girls.
Setsuna: "Dammit! I thought about her boobs."
No one has ever improved through whinging at others.
Setsuna is so fucking manly. I may swoon.
and smashed into the alien machines, both sides without reason, without pity, without remorse and without fear. Neither side would stop, ever, until the other was destroyed.
Is it just me or did we just go Terminator up in here?
Despite the thick dust, jamming, and radiation from the missiles and other previous passes of the forward Valkyrie Squadrons, there was still an overwhelming number of solid contacts on scope. Anna truly excelled in sensory capability.
Anna: Still on point sensor-wise, despite descending into a (very quiet) psychotic break in the back.

What about getting half dozen extra particle projectors so Durga can convert them to our particular brand of nasty. Also, unlocking heavy particle canon x10 should be cool as fuck, as a mere x4 annihilated those Types.

It was like… it was like Anna was trying to eat the Type Five.
Durga: "... What? I have special dietary needs."
Anna: "At least it's not bread."
/Anna quietly returns to PTSD fugue state
All around the Flight, a strange, black field swirled, encasing the Valkyries. Was this some more Antagonist space magic-?
Space magic, he says!

Koji's narrative is often a kind of hilarious ignorance that contrasts very well with Anna's or Sandra's.
It was people voting to beat out the hard-mode vote and the fuck stupid dooms-day scenario.
That feeling when there are multiple PTSD triggers waiting in the wings, like little scenario landmines.
And Yukari. Honestly, there are exactly two people in this flight who aren't horribly traumatized; one of them is dense as a brick of bloody tungsten
Hey. Setsuna is not that bad.

Typos:
Then, one not that is not familiar.
'one that is not'
"I know this is abrupt, but y'all being shifted under my command.
It's okay as is if you're aiming for 'street', but if it's a southern twang you're looking for, it's parse better with 'y'all are' or possibly 'y'all're'.

Setsuna sighed slightly as land came into sight after about two minutes of flight. The rain was finally abating, the Valkyries having outrun the stormfront.
For this line and a few paragraphs further, Setsuna lapses into past tense again. And actually, most of the rest of the update is primarily (but not entirely) past tense, until around when Setsuna engages with the Type.
stripped away heavily armoured hull
'the heavily armoured hull'. Olivebirdy might have gotten this one already.

Sandra at least knew well of Shuri's story.
Were you going for something like 'Sandra knew that well, from Shuri's story'?
The majority race began climbing
'Race to begin climbing' maybe, or just 'The majority began climbing'?

Amazed we didn't question this sooner. You know how Yukari is an Elite, and how all Elites are supposed to spend hours and hours practicing with their flights to improve themselves, and how Yukari has somehow found time to spend her evenings dedicated to helping her brother and his friend from home?

She doesn't have a flight in her year anymore, does she? I mean, that seems obvious from just this update, but all the clues were there before.

honestly, i just want to see the Elite Cafeteria.

Sides, not all of them are bad. At least we know a few that can be trusted.

[X]Breakfast: Bath and clean. Eat breakfast. Do other normal things. Apologies to your Flight for so rudely leaving last night.
[X]Morning: Continue as is. (Transcendent Offense)
[X]Lunch: Hang out with flight.

IIRC correctly, we had 10, a couple were destroyed in the Sekhmet fight, and we donated some for research purposes. We could maybe get those ones back after they're done getting everything useful they can out of them, and the onium battery we donated as well. Depends on how long it takes to get the data they need, or if they use destructive testing.

I meant in regards of having someone to talk to about this crap as at this point it's a miracle she's even functional; at this point Anna is retreating so far into her shell that it will take a miracle to pull her out.

Having a normal conversation with her friends will do more wonders than anything else at this point but for the love of all that is holy she needs to talk about what happened; unfortunately that's going to take a while.

Just because it's a trope doesn't make it a good trope.

Look a normal conversation is better than no conversation at all so can we please at least hang out with the flight?

Hey GM, did Anna do anything that could have increased her Character Relevance score in that battle?

Well, okay, if Koujiro is the viewpoint character, then he likely didn't even notice most of what Anna was up to, so that's....

Never mind me, this breakfast will be awesome enough as it is.

Can't wait for the week to finish, and the Timeskips to begin occurring.
Koujiro didn't notice anything unusual about Anna during that simulation, but I'd be very surprised if the audience didn't notice, which should raise our relevance.

The only thing they would notice is perhaps the initial deviation, the constant shifting pointing to a certain direction and Anna moving out of the sim quickly.

Unless Sandra or Shuri POV was shown to the audience, i doubt Koujirou would notice it at all.

It's better that we hang out with the flight then going off on our own.

Disagree. At least insofar as one opposes the other.

Though 'fix' is probably the wrong word. Anna's issues aren't really something that goes away. More like 'move on and learn to live with'.

Well, unless Durga just wipes everything, but that's effectively death as far as I'm concerned.

Still thinking on vote.

A-Anna...

Its ok guys, now that Anna's trauma is more visible, we can hopefully rely on the other characters to help her with it.

Also, You know what the most surprising thing is @Avalanche? People managed to keep this thread bumped the entire two months you were writing. I actually started the habit of checking your posting history for updates rather than relying on the thread.

You know what, I'll just not include 'still to come' sections in the future.
No-no-no, please do include them. They provide important context (that's been lost over the past gazillion updateless pages) to those of us who don't vote emotionally.

Thank you, it wasn't easy but we did it. I'd like to say that I did most of the work for frequently adding random topics to get us through that last dark period. Truthfully however we must all thank @Kaizuki for his omakes which carried the intrest as well as everyone who touched on plot points such as: Anna does not go to the toilet, Anna is shrinking, the eleventh hour Durga/Kail discovery as well as all the others we don't have time to mention.
