That's fine, and I will.

I didn't know this was a problem until people started flipping their shit about my post for no reason I could understand. Then I was frustrated because I still wanted to push the idea but could tell doing that would just make people even more miserable and against it, which was kind of a shitty Catch-22. At this point I'm just going to PM DragonParadox to figure out the details, although I imagine he's just as sick of it as everyone else. I think the decision will be a lot more clear-cut if he simply explains what will happen.

The core reason I brought this up was because I like Aemon a lot and think he's being wasted as an elderly Maester, when he's one of four people alive who are full Targaryens (leaving out Jon, Rheanys, and Faegon because they're a lot more ambiguous). Seeing as the other three are Viserys, Daenerys, and Rhealla, the waste sickened me. It was good loot just ... languishing. I'm sorry for bringing back something which many people just wanted to let die.

I am 100% in favor of reincarnating Aemon. It's just not an easy topic to broach with someone without sufficient knowledge arcana/planes. When we send more mages to the wall, or a week so they can get settled in, maybe then?

Oh, come on. We always fought dirty here. It's part of the reason why this thread-culture could even emerge.
I... oh fuck. I kinda agree. Fine. We're filthy debaters, and that works for us. Doesn't mean we can't be aware of it. Like, as an adult, I hypocrite all the time. Not proud of it :/. And the filth may work, but I still don't like it...
I wonder if I do it too, but without noticing it.

@Crake 's quote is weird. How did you wrangle that one man?

Personally, I consider the argument about Aemon having to stick to his oath beyond death a pointless one. There will be no Night Watch anymore once the second Long Night has ran it's course.

Because we will use everything we got to eradicate the presence of the Others on Planetos.

And by EVERYTHING, I mean "Get the pie-cutters and a good map, because it's time to calculate blast-zones!".

Sure, if we successfully eradicate the threat of the Others with no chance of return then the Watch is over and so is his oath to it. Until then he has a duty and he should uphold it.

Wait we have scholars coming correct? Have them bring samples of their plants from their planes and offer them to the forge so that we can make the plant monster we all want.

Let me join the ranks of people expressing their distinct and utter hatred for this idea. It is rooted from a complicated mix of issues that unite in one abominable topic.

Personally, for the longest while, I even pointed out every dirty trick I've used right the moment when I used it.

Kinda stopped after a while, since nobody seemed care.

Knowing the details of how it would happen will not change my stance, I will still stand firmly against the idea.

Ehhh, more like accepting or impressed, or feeling nice that you went to the effort of being manipulative. You never did it to fuck around, just to get what you sincerely believe to be the best path forward. I didn't even notice you stop pointing them out. Do you still use them? I remember you were having a bad few days and weren't up to your usual par in arguments, I was actually a bit worried for your RL shit and stuff, due to a change in how you presented online with us.

Though you could well have just been feeling greater levels of frustration-with-thread at that point, I suppose. For me it grows and ebbs :/

Surely Astral Currents Socks Enhance is better. Those socks provided by Yss was very warm indeed.

Or better than that, Updater in beta.

Anyway, since we're going off topic and beating up dead horses, how about my Tor Redemption arc idea :V?

Oh god, how did I miss Socks exchange!?!?! that is Amazing.

Also, any time it's "Update in Beta", my mind immediately goes to a filthy, filthy place. Honestly, there was a bit where DP switched to "Update being Beta'd", and I was all of the dissapoint.

I just don't read the thread except when updates that have votes I'm interested in pop up. It really helps. Although Horde Thief has sabotaged that somewhat.

A mixture of RL shit, thread frustration, tiredness and being quite horribly drunk at the time.

And yes, I still use the whole book of dirty plays.

Personally I don't find the fact it pisses people off a reason to avoid bringing it up.

Especially since people keep bringing it up.

I mean there's certainly enough interest. (Although that would require someone who can write a turn vote to be on board with the idea.)

I feel bad for you that you felt bad and am happy that you are still being you in terms of debate tactics :).
I remember posing some embarrassing shit in thread when I was drunk. Stupid stuff. I appreciate you calling me out on my bs back then.

Anyway, aSWaH topic! We have spells to discuss:
Renewal Pact – Spell – D&D Tools 100 IM to cast per person, permanet untill triggered* or dispelled. Cast it on all party members and government officials we care about.
*Save-or-sucks/save-or dies. Level 7 cleric spell

Stalwart Pact – Spell – D&D Tools 50 IM per person
perm until triggered (1/2 hp) or dispelled. Cast on all party members and government officials, and then, every time it is used up, just charge us 50 IM at the end of the current adventure. level 5 cleric spell

So. I await your (@thread's) reasons for, and against?

Honestly, I want it cast them on all of our level 3+ mages if we can, (first one's free ;) ), but people like alinor and gerold and our inquisition should get them paid on crown's expanse always imo.
Although Horde Thief has sabotaged that somewhat.

AHHH! I've remembered another of your weak points! :D
Now, I'm not extorting/treating you for Horde Thief updates because I'm a story addict, but I'm not, not doing that either. You get me? ;)

Pretty much nobody is against the idea. We just haven't had the time to sit down and vote to do it. Make sure to bring it up during the next Turn Vote and we'll be sure to stick it in as a minor action.

Another thing, we've got the following things to do with Viserys next turn:
- take over Lys and Myr
- visit the Ironborn
- (optional) visit Qohor

Lya:
- make rituals for Scry and Divination
- once this is done, erect the House of Mirrors and begin a regular Divination schedule

Tyene / Kira / escorts:
- spread propaganda in Westeros
- rile up the peasants against the Faith in Driftmark to aid Velaryon

Strategic:
- set up Scholarium branches in Tyrosh and Naath
- finish clean-up of the Disputed Lands
- build a ton of braziers to expand ACSEC and improve contact within our realm
- build the coin-press proposed by Goldfish and start minting
- look into finding a mercury lake in the PoE we can exploit

We can foist the ritual-making onto Dany. I'd like Lya to quickly study the Runelore from Bloodraven.

Get a list of every person we want those spells on. Divide them into two groups: Those we pay for (our peeps), those that pay for themselves (bravos, relath, mantarys (unless Yarel has that done already, I dunno his cleric spell level))

Multiply each person we want by 150 IM and say they have those two spells on them... spread it out over a few weeks, like 2-3 per day max and say "group a done" by date such and such to keep down on book keeping, but also acknowledging that fifth and seventh level slots are a limited resource. <- Just an idea on how to implement it that is simple but fair. Unless we go for the even simpler route and just assume that it is done and deduct the money, but ehh, that seems too much abstraction considering the hard limit on spell slots. *

I don;t care either way, as long as waymar makes some concentrated dawnfruit consumables in the next four months** the pacts are cast on people. We should have bothered ages ago :/
* Then again, this has been metntioed a few times in the past few months, so maybe fluff the "all at once" as it being done IC, as this is the most IC action of IC actions.

**oh, did that slip in again? silly me. :p

unrelated, what about a "Sudden Chain" feat? Would that be balanceable?

The rituals are arcane magic and needs someone capable of casting the arcane spell.
Dany doesn't qualify. This needs to be done by Lya, since she is the only one who can cast Divination as a 4th level arcane spell.

Let Dany dig into the runelore instead. She needs it to finally process the Tiamat Avatar anyway and Lya can learn it faster from her.

Well, I certainly wouldn't say no to Dany also picking up the Runecrafter feat...

Personally I wouldn't mind a whole month of mostly down-time to catch up a bit on research and get all those niggling things in our realm in order. So Lya spending the whole month on research is peachy for me.

Look at your avatar.

Now look back at your quoted text.

Anyone who doesn't know what you're all about at this point is in denial.
I'm not quite sure why you think my avatar is in any way implying that I'm dishonest or manipulative. It is quite clearly showing the epitome of trustworthiness that is me.
