[X] Destroy the Hellfire Belchers before they can fire
-[X] Cast another Quickned Searing, Agonizing Firebrand, this time targeting each Hellfire Belcher with one of the explosions, then using the remaining twelve to bombard as many groups of Steel Devils as we can manage, then sacrifice an 8th level spell slot using our Robes of Mysterious Conjuration to Summon an Elder Earth Elemental. Place it above the Hellfire Belchers if they have not yet been destroyed, which instructions to disable them, or if Firebrand dealt with them, drop it on a group of Steel Devils.

This is just a vote for the companions.Your turn is not up yet.

Isn't chanting trivially negated by dropping couple of Silences on the formations?

...Or firebrands. Those also work.
Those silences also impede us from casting spells in their areas, tho. They are melee monsters, they can just move up to the caster and now you've silenced yourself. Either that, or move out of the area.

In any case, we might even perhaps use a Shadow of the Doom here, if the Big Bad shows up.

So, I could not help but notice how when Viserys met this wizard lady his eye was immediately drawn to her... assets. I kept waiting for her to go "my eyes are up here you know".

Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny, so I swapped the words of a certain song around to be a bit more... appropriate.

The the tune of Sir mix a lots I like big butts

You other wizards can't deny!
When a good book walks in with
A good spell base
And a big spine in your face
You get sprung!
Wanna get out your notepads
'Cause you noticed that book
Was dense.
Deep in the book I'm reading,
I'm hooked and I can't stop
Speeding, through Baby
I wanna get that literature,
And make a copy of that picture,
My teachers try to restrain me!
But that book you've got
Makes me so brainy!
(Baby got books!)

Perfect!

You know, I'm kind of glad we can just sell our part of the ship off to the Captain, this thing is not something we'd really want to own.
Yeah, I was under the impression that it was one of the Sultan's ships. It clearly isn't. Still, we should check with the Grand Vizier if he'd give us a bounty for it anyway since we did take out a ship that was on official Efreeti business.

But agreed overall, I don't want this ship anymore. If we took it we would have just ended up trying to sell it to the Shaitan.

You know what would be a neat demesne / outpost / colony in PoF: A floating / flying fortress with docks, and warehouses. Add a fire proof weirwood grove, Adept support from Mantarys, and legionnaries. Then fill it up with liberated slaves and A parties passing through... :drevil:

Not worth the time to make useable, but we could just sell it to the shiatans to reclaim whatever value they can, so it has value in that regard. So that's something to keep in mind we considering its value to us: resale :D

In unrelated news, I have finally gotten past the worst of my very real insomnia, and am no longer living, and this isn't exaggeration, a tortured wraithlike half-existence. So that means not only can I work on editing information tabs for DP tonight, but I should be able to post another Omake.

You doing ok man? See a doctor? Drugs?

Man, a friend of mine, who started us on D&D actually, is finally reading this thread, if only the story posts.

He is where we were lv 3 and really slumming it out as the Bloodhound. This is before Lya discovered we are a Targaryen.

Brings back memories, of that so distant part of the quest where we did not have any fire to throw around.

Can you even imagine?

@edit: Also, I found the mofo guilty of us spending our 4th level stat boost on Dexterity.

And thank you DP:
Otherwise known as taking a nerf bat to your magic.
On someone suggesting taking a Rogue levle and going Arcane Trickster.

And then disabusing the fellow of the notion of going Dragon Disciple, which gives zero spellcasting progression.

Truly, those were some dark days.

Haggling wastes valuable OOC time and writing-space.
Any proper haggling would take more than one extra-update, which is innaceptable.
@DragonParadox this is definitely part of the problem, I am not sure how to fix thread lazyness but maybe not putting negotiation at the end of the chapter and having a break off point, Negotiation vote and then you can write in the negotiations and pre-written second half of chapter.

I expected them to be better than they are, and to not have a plan consisting of "you go and act as bait against an entire warship".

That is exactly the plan I expected them to have, though out of malice.

For what it's worth I'm sorry I did not spell out 'slavers'.

I figured pirates of the Plane of Fire looking for a slave transport would be enough, but I guess with all the stuff happening in an update it's easy to miss.

It was obvious to me they were slavers DP, you shouldn't feel bad about this.

"I've got news of a treasure ship sailing straight from Dis on the Grand Vizier's own business. You want the Brass Bastard to curse your name there's no better way to do it than taking that, and I reckon with a dragon on our side me and lads can take it. Call it an even split of everything, slaves and treasures, the ship if we can take it

It was a shitty deal, but a clear one.

About that... let's just say this fight would be a lot easier of you had a ship raining bolts and arrows on the enemy crew instead of trying to mop it up fully with your party.

Then he should have devised a plan to get within range that wasn't entirely unworkable.
I believe Twine Double might have worked but his Wizard didn't offer to cast it and it's a bit of a gamble to assume your contracted ally will have duplication abilities.

In my efforts to sift through the archive of this quest for omake purposes, I too have been reading the earliest parts. One thing that's been bothering me lately is why we haven't resurrected Ser Darry like we have Rhealla. Viserys and Daenerys owe the man so much, and to an extent he was a replacement father figure for the prince. I finally found out that in one of the earliest parts we sent his body back to his family instead of holding on to him for resurrection, which at the time was in the distant future. I suppose it makes sense, the voters had zero emotional connection to him seeing as the poor guy hasn't had a single concept screen moment in the quest, and was rarely mentioned even at the start.

Still, I'm willing to campaign to bring him back. Viserys owes it to him, and he'll undoubtly become another unbreakably loyal PC.

I for one want this ship.

We can research how it works, then melt it down and forge VS from the genuine hell-iron.
