@DragonParadox, has Malarys found any promising candidates who can be trained as Concept Clerics of the Law?

I'll roll for that once he does his scholarium action.

Though honestly I don't see a need to get crazy with hiding our ice mage when we can just claim she is basically a toy to us. Dragons do that kinda thing.

Not a ton of changes in either spell loadout, but the changes I made are pretty important. They both have a Mass Planar Adaptation prepared, because it will take two castings of it each day to keep everyone adequately protected from the environment. Rina also has a Life Bubble prepared for emergencies, in case Mass Planar Adaptation gets Dispelled or otherwise suppressed, along with Avoid Planar Effects, which is a nice "oh, shit!" emergency environmental protection spell with a good area that can be cast as an Immediate Action. Dany's got a few Cold-based spells prepared, too, just in case.

@DragonParadox It looks like at some point in the past, we (which likely means me  ) got both Dany and Rina's spells per day for certain levels slightly mixed up. The numbers per day for each level I've listed below are correct. Dany's didn't change much, she just lost a single 1st level spell, but Rina should gain a 2nd, 5th, and 6th level spell. Their regular loadouts need to be adjusted to reflect those changes.

BTW, @Azel, I was just looking at Dany's spell lists, the specialized ones on her character sheet, and saw that she can prepare and cast Reverse Gravity as a 7th level spell. We've been missing out on the anti-gravity research for a while now because of that oversight. Because of that, I've rearranged Naria's research schedule a bit so that she'll do the Darkenbeast research first, then do the anti-gravity research. This will coincide with Dany's time where she will be freely available in SD researching the Black Dragonscale Tablets. During that time there's nothing preventing her from preparing and casting a Reverse Gravity spell once each day for Naria to poke and prod. Is that something that would be helpful for the research, @DragonParadox?

Skyrim dragons are bitches, I tell you they can't even cast anything half way decent. They have to scream it.

Paarthuanax is cool tho

Alright I got to stand up for the Skyrim dragons now.

  1. Firstly theyre pretty much (native) outsiders that cant be killed if youre somekind of demigod or deus ex machina.
  2. While ingame they dont have alot of spells their spoken language literally is reality warping. Frickin' Wishcraft my dude.
  3. Did I mention how theyre immortal agewise and no mortal weapon can do more than inconvenienve them?
Aaaahh :p

They can't be given true death, but they stay normal dead unless literal dragon Jesus speaks to their corpse, everyone and their mothers can learn the Voice, specially if you are not a raging asshole like most dragons and I killed many many dragons with my Sharpened Iron Sword :V

Checkmate Alduinist :p

Wasn't she doing research on that already?

Anyway, greatly appreciated.

She was scheduled to do the anti-gravity research, but was basically going in blind. Hopefully seeing the spell in action once a day will help her make some progress more quickly than she otherwise would.

Part MMCCLXIX: Upon a Sea of Flame Part Two
Upon a Sea of Flame Part Two

Sixth Day of the Fifth Month 293 AC

It is raining as you fly into the nearest of the ports Baella spoke of, not any common substance though, even vitriol or boiling salt, but quicksilver splashing against your scales with a hiss. You idly wonder if it ever rains gold or silver here and what the laws must be for collecting such rare treasures. That there are laws you have little doubt.

Emberhold seems a remarkably orderly sort of town to find out here in the wilds beyond the reach of the Brazen Throne. Ships seemingly molded of dragon glass with sails spun of as much of sorcery as silk cast anchor at long straight docks which stretch out from the star-shaped island which to your eyes seems far too regular to have been a natural creation.

Most of the inhabitants seem to be true spirits of fire drifting across the blasted stone like specters of crimson and gold, though you catch sight of a few establishments run for and usually by 'fleshlings'. Alas that you do not have much time to ponder the town at its ease. The approach of a dragon, even a relatively young one you must seem to be, is quite enough to set the inhabitants running for cover or in the case of the bolder ones reaching for their weapons. You take particular note of a pair of ballista as wide as one of your wings set to fire bolts longer than a man is tall.

Before anyone can misinterpret your approach you call out as loudly as you can: "I come in peace to share tales, perhaps to trade!"

The war machines remain motionless, but two of the fire spirits, elders from their brightness, form wings from their flickering substance and rise up to meet you and escort you down.

If there is one advantage to playing the part of a crimson wyrm and elder child of Tiamat, it is that few people ask 'Scalathrax Ashbringer' too much of his past. A few growls to the effect of having been cast into a long slumber by cowardly Efreeti are enough for most people to merely follow you with wary gazes as you seek out the hub of the local rumor mill, not a tavern oddly enough, but what seems to be an amphitheater dedicated to poetry and song.

In spite of the initial wariness to get within easy reach of a dragon, most of the rumormongers in town are easy enough to draw in with the promise of gold you brought with you. No one dares to question why you are paying in gold bars rather than something more convenient such as coins. "Melt it down yourself," you hiss, keeping to your part.

You lose 400 Gold

Thus you discover that there are two Efreeti military convoys set to sail through these parts soon, the first carrying routine supplies to a subjugated salamander tribe, and the second and much stronger one moving towards the front with the Shaitans forming the core of a incursion into the Endless Delve. While few bother to keep track of particular whalers, their hunting grounds are easy enough to mark and find.

Just as you are about to leave, your task here well fulfilled, one of the locals surprises you by approaching: a powerfully built Azer bearing an enchanted brass hammer of far more than common make: "Heard you're thinking of going after the Brass Bastard's fleet," he says without preamble, almost challengingly.

"Who's asking?" you rumble.

"Name's Yrten, some call me Sword-Sunder on account of the fools who try to block a hammer with a sword," he replies. "I'm the captain of the Golden Wind, fastest ship in port, and by my reckon the toughest too."

"Are you looking for a job?" you ask, allowing some of the curiosity to show in your voice. Azer are oft slaves of the Efreeti, so it would hardly be surprising if he holds a grudge.

"Looking for a share," he replies lowering his voice to just above a whisper, showing some skill in subterfuge, for all the good that does him talking to the only dragon in the stands. "I've got news of a treasure ship sailing straight from Dis on the Grand Vizier's own business. You want the Brass Bastard to curse your name there's no better way to do it than taking that, and I reckon with a dragon on our side me and lads can take it. Call it an even split of everything, slaves and treasures, the ship if we can take it whole, and we'll lead you right to it."

What do you reply?

[] Take Yrten's deal

[] Give a counter-offer
-[] Write in

[] Refuse the deal
-[] Hunt whalers
-[] Attack the less well-defended supply convoy
-[] Intercept the future incursion

OOC: Well you rolled a nat 20 on your diplomacy roll (in the place of gather information). Make of that what you will.

@DragonParadox, is this a one-or-the-other kind of deal? Can we go after the Grand Vizier's ship as well as hunt whalers?

Also, just to clarify, is the Grand Vizier one of the Grand Sultan's lackeys?
