I have to admit that Azel's work on actually making a sheet for his character got me a bit nervous, if the time comes for me to actually make him a proper character i'm either asking for your help or just emancipating the guy, i'm useless there.

I'll help you out, if you give me the broad details I can put it together.

Thanks, its still a few updates away, and i dont want to spoil too much, so i will send you the details as we get closer to the end.
A bit of a warning tho
He is kinda too powerful to just hand him to us as a free minion, as i figure a man Who survives practically alone in Sothoryos has to be at least level 10, so i plan to hand him to Yss, to execute his plans and aid his people.
Edit: i figure Yss having an extra mid-low level adventurer is really just a small extra drop of power compared to his CR 21 self
Which may or may not make the sheet unnecesary.
I guess i'll ask the thread at the end of the story.

Making sheets can be great fun! And I always learn a lot about the game when I do, did you have a class in mind? Variant ranger perhaps?

Edit:
Also nice work, it was thrilling and I really want to know just who the heck this guy is.

I was leaning more towards Rogue, he is an ambush predator, going for the quick kill and relaying on poisons and tricks when that is not possible.
But he does have a prefered environment (jungles, or thick forests) so Ranger could work, but my knowledge of both is límited beyond this quest and OotS.

Oof, so many omakes lately.

...Any chance you guys will write some crossovers any time soon?
Pretty please?
:3

I disagree.
Abstraction is all fine and well, before a moment comes and you realise you have no actual idea how the fuck the city looks.

Statistics don't help much in imagining the city, you know?

I am absolutely in favor of having at least such rudumentary map as Azel's, because it helps me actually understand how things work in there.

The fantasy of the place is nonexistent if I can't imagine the look of said place.

:/
What you want is illustration of a few streets, or if the city seen from the sea.
An MS Paint map won't be enough for that, and does nothing but demand stupid levels of detail and constrain us.
Ambiguity is good here.

Again, I disagree.

For me understanding "how city looks" (I.e. being able to imagine it and stuff hsppening in it, based on few descriptions that are scattered around the thread) takes more looking at how well its streets are placed, where key points are located, than looking at illustrations.

I mean, sure, illustrations can do the job, but personally, ill need more than a few to get a feel for the city :/

Finally remembered to look into the Cloak of Mammon price matter. Seeing as you are making an artifact here's what I consider the price should be:
  1. The Orphne Cloak
  2. The Bracers of Avarice
  3. 20.000 Gold in reagents
In terms of time it would cost 3 days each from:
  1. Lya for her skill at crafting
  2. Viserys for his searing breath weapon to shape the enchanted scales
  3. Ser Richard, as Oathkeeper both struck the final blow and contains the spirit of a mage smith thus gaining a unique understanding into how the metal must be worked

@das_slash, I demand that we get our own smug lizards now. Those bastards are too cool not to have.

Okay, we'll need to redo the schedule now, @DragonParadox. Lya time is one thing since we have Dedicated Wright's there, but Viserys time is something else entirely, and we all wanted this artifact cloak to be done before the Planar Conference. I'm going to take a look to see what can be tweaked.

EDIT: Alright, best I can see is Viserys, Lya, and Ser Richard all personally working on it on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of this month, shaving off two days of the Upon the Sea of Flame action for which shouldn't be too detrimental, but unfortunately cutting off three spells-to-be-learned for Lya is what it's going to turn out to be.

It does look like the best option, though, especially since I'm assuming this is something Lya would need to be doing in person. And having that Artifact cloak worn and ready before the Planar Conference begins is non-negotiable as far as I'm concerned, since that's one of our single best symbols that we're a kingdom capable of standing on its own.

Quite pricey in total, though at least it doesn't take half a year to enchant.

Will we be able to afford the additional 20,000 IM in reagents to... what was it Goldfish said we needed... ah. ~41,000 IM in crafting reagents simply to keep up with our regular crafting.

So that would be an expenditure of 61,000 IM now.

DP said it was fine, and I like @Deliste's, so it's probably what I'll vote for.

If we were doing ranked choice, for me it would be:

1) Deliste's
2) Goldfish's
3) TotallyNotEvil's

Though that's because TNE didn't include the SR portion.

If he had, he would be even with Goldfish I would say.

I thought TNE included the SR portion after he realized most of us wouldn't be voting for his version without it?

@TotallyNotEvil
Cheers, made it +5 rather than +6, also somehow the reflex DC got made 1/2 spell level when it should have been spell level so that was changed back too.

Mammon's Folly

Stolen from the hide of the Avatar of Mammon, Lord of Greed and Archduke of Minauros, this fine-scaled cloak shimmers like polished gold and its golden clasps, though cool to the touch, glow as if freshly poured from the crucible. If one looks closely, rather than scales, the cloak actually appears to be formed of overlapping and interlocking coins which seem to slowly flow, as if part of a river of never ending gold.

DC 25 Spot Check to notice the coins occasionally shift to reveal a
Devil Faced Coin in Surprise.

Owing to its unique origins, the cloak retains some minor aspect of its former owner's avaricious nature. An insatiable hunger and a sliver of infinite plane.
  • When worn by one responsible for the death of an Avatar of Mammon, the Cloak's hunger reacts to attacks upon it's wearer, at one half of Charisma bonus uses per day, drawing from the same pool as spell absorption.
Ranged attacks do not draw from this pool.
  • When struck by a Melee weapon resolve a Disarm attempt without triggering AoO, if successful the weapon is subsumed by the cascade of golden coins to be retrieved by it's new owner.
  • Ranged Attacks trigger a DC 20 Reflex saving throw, the errant projectiles subsumed by a cascade of golden coins to be retrieved by their new owner, and Ranged Spell Attacks as defined by Friendly Fire trigger a DC 20+ Spell Level Reflex saving throw when hit. If successful the attack is also subsumed by the crushing weight of golden coins with no ill effects to the wearer or it's contents. Spell Attacks are negated at one half of Charisma bonus uses per day.
  • The interior of the cloak retains a sliver of Infinite Plane continuously growing to meet the needs of it's contents, acting as a Handy Haversackwith storage capacity equivalent to Genesis and growing at 1 inch per year, allowing the wearer to reach within its folds to store and retrieve items, the folds parting no further than the dimensions of their first "wearer", Mammon (4 X Dimensions of the physical cloak). If the wearer was not one responsible for the death of an Avatar of Mammon, however, any objects stored within the cloak for more than 2d4+4 hours is consumed and lost forever, with the exception of Artifacts and enchanted items with a caster level higher than that of the cloak itself, which are merely shunted to a random location on the Astral Plane. Regardless of what is stored within the cloak, its weight never increases above ten pounds.
  • The wearer gains a +5 Enhancement bonus to their Natural Armor and benefits from Spell Resistance equal to 5 plus their total HD. If they already possess Natural Armor, it instead increases by +4, and if they possess Spell Resistance, it instead increases by +2.

I think this is the most recent version.
