@DragonParadox, regarding the Fiendish Monstrous Spiders sitting in The Larder:

1. How many days would Tyene need to harvest all the venom she can from them? There are 3 Colossal, 5 Gigantic, and 14 Huge spiders in storage.
2. How many barrels would we get?
3. Can we harvest the venom sacks, especially from the colossal ones, and make something out of the Fungus Forge to combine the venom sacks to so we have a steady supply of potent venom?

Or we feed Yss enough HD to subvert the staff, why listen to the Lolth aligned CE staff.

Staff is an untrustworthy person. Get it processed by a friendly power so we can make use of it securely. And have its powers altered away from the usual demon shit.

Edit: like "eat tree kittens a week or the staff will no longer work for you" bullshit.

  1. About two weeks
  2. I'll have to run some calculations, most canon sources have it so you guys would get only a handful of doses, but I think that's a case of balance over common sense, which I strongly dislike
  3. You can try though you would need something at most one size category smaller to graft them onto

@Duesal, can we then throw Naria at the AG-Engine?
Yeah, spending 4 days on Valyrian Steel this month combined with the Lich's library is plenty, and since she won't be much help at all for the Dedicated Wrights action then that leaves her more or less exclusive for the engine next month.

Ah, so wonderful. That is a lot of venom. :D

There's nothing wrong with eating kittens, they might be cute but they aren't sapient, so it's no more wrong to eat kittens, than it is to eat piglets.

The only issue I have with this is that Naria has no reasonable way to poke at gravity in order to study it. Even Lya doesn't really have any of the necessary magic to justifiably conduct gravity/anti-gravity research. That's why I wanted to buy a couple scrolls of Create Demiplane on the Plane of Air so that we could set up a dedicated gravity testing area. We should have bought a Reverse Gravity scroll while we were there, too.

We made the magebane venom from these spiders no? Or is that for something else?
The spiders are reserved for the Tree of the First Age (petrified weirwood). To make magebane venom you basically need to drain all the blood of an outsider (killing them) and mix it with the blood of an outsider of an opposing alignment. This can either be Good vs Evil (but for obvious PR reasons we're not going to butcher Good outsiders), or the far more convenient Lawful vs Chaotic.

Magebane Poison

Type: Injury
Save: Fortitude DC 20
Frequency: 1/round
Effect: Caster loses access to his highest level of spells known/prepared
Cure: 1 save (access to magic returns at a rate of one spell level/minute or instantly if cured by magic)
Creation: The vital fluids from 2 or more outsiders of at least 6 HD with opposing alignment sub-types (Good/Evil or Law/Chaos). 1d3+1 doses are created for every two HD over the minimum are used.
Skill to Create: DC 32

Fortunately DP said we can stack HD, so in the future we could totally get a bunch of the escaped fiendish spiders and stack them for this.

Wait. We didn't? I thought those were on the shopping list?

That's a nasty poison holy hell. Losing access to the highest spell levels? Oh god yeah we are monopolizing this.

Normally kitten eating is discussed in the context of well to do, as far as I know kitten doesn't have much going for it as a meat, eating a piglet may be morally the same but it's much tastier and fuller bodied which has the effect that people of means eating kittens are doing it for the social effect and therefore evil for the sake of evil is their intent.

[X] The Broken Temple. A cursory examination of the area where the spiders laired showed no further treasures or lore about the city, but perhaps a more thorough excavation through the mounds of rubble will reveal more

There's this neat thing going on.

It's called a vote :V

Also, fuck yes, adventure!

Any objections to my level up plan for Tyene that Duesal has included in his vote?

@TotallyNotEvil, mind consolidating with me? DP is letting us retroactively take care of Tyene's levelup, and we're also getting Glyra out of the way. I'm voting to explore the same place that you are.

The staff asking to be paid in kittens still don't make it evil, it just make it carnivorous with unusual tastes.

It's fantastic, isn't it? :D Imagine what Tyene could do with Magebane poison. :o

I already have.

Each time, it involves her using the Toxic Spell Metamagic feat to apply Magebane Poison to a Boneshaker spell.

Then again, that's also how I imagine the application of a dose of Colossal Monstrous Spider Venom.

Really, it's a fantastic poison delivery spell. Currently does 9d6 damage at Medium range (230 feet at the moment) and it's only 2nd level, so she can use it with Toxic Spell without eating up a ton of higher level spell slots.
