What is our best bet animal wise with Jungle Mind, I'm thinking birds or Burrowers of some kind.

[X] Crimson Mounds. The stone here seems stained with blood, the plants sickly and withered and none of the great jungle trees have caught root here. A tower broken about two thirds of the way up its original two-hundred foot height lies here besides a handful of what might be slow dome roofed (Bloodsilk Spiders and Bellybore Beetles found here)

The staff asking to be paid in kittens still don't make it evil, it just make it carnivorous with unusual tastes.

It's an intelligent magic item made by Lolth worshiping Drow. If it was going to have any dietary requirements, it would be fresh baby blood, or the tears of tortured virgins.

OOC: You are unlikely to finish exploring everything here in a day. Viserys can't even tell how much of the city is hidden by the jungle beyond the fact that there is a lot of it

Speaking of the jungle is there any chance we could summon up a couple of fire Elementals to do a controlled burn the say to a mile or two in diameter around this place and if those Elementals still haven't been killed by something using to torch the blood spiders and those creepy as fuck Beatles?

It's unfortunate that Lya didn't have time to learn that spell before we returned to Sothoryos. Viserys would need to Blood Wish it for now, though some of the same functionality can be had from using his staff to Commune with Nature.

[X] The Broken Temple. A cursory examination of the area where the spiders laired showed no further treasures or lore about the city, but perhaps a more thorough excavation through the mounds of rubble will reveal more

You could but it might wake something up, start a dinosaur stampede or otherwise damage the ruins.

I think it's worth the Bloodwish, every 6 seconds we can hijack the senses of any individual of a chosen species within a mile radius. That's huge, the ground we cover by picking birds or Dinosaur, which count as an animal, is staggering.

[X] Hidden Cenotes. Found by Vee while searching for groundwater, the city may have once used these deep pools of water likely well up from whatever subterranean maze the spiders fled into

...We should have taken those trained bugs of Vee's, the ones that go through earth like through water, with us.
Much better than using earth-moving spells in a wild magic zone.
