Just a few more levels and Lya can have a dedicated body for having kids.
Eh, it's just something I view as an immense risk and timesink, while I really don't want to play the absent dad on the other hand.

You see, I believe that being a dedicated parent is basically enough time and work to be a quest in itself, and it should not be this quest.
Our lifetime work does involve being King, Dragon, Sorcerer, Demagogue, Inventor and a dozen more things. That's really enough.

Because it pushes the "next step" forward, having children.
I want that as far away as possible, preferably several human lifetimes and far beyond the scope of this quest.

Better to argue now against marriage than then against kids.

No? Having kids immediately does not follow from marriage. Many people wait. Many people never have children. I'm pretty sure Viserys and Lya are not going to rush things, nor do most voters want to.

I'm aware.
It's just that I prefer a layered defence I guess?
While we are arguing about marriage the topic comes up less than it most likely will afterwards, I'm pretty sure.

Edit: @lancelot 100% against this. Erodes the perception that Viserys trusts the legion, takes too much effort, we don't need perfect loyalty, and you should have faith in what @Azel @Snowfire @Diomedon have achieved with Viserys' Diplo score. The man has a couple of independent low level cults, who probably have gone to the effort to find out their King (Messiah/god in flesh) would not like that he's being worshipped and as such are thoughtfully hiding away.

Not the members we already have but we should use it on those that will be joining from a City we just took, and has a number of Nobles that would love to fuck with our army from within.

I...very much dislike that type of argumentation, but we're already pretty much axiomatically opposed in how we enjoy the quest, so that's an understandable and reasonable way to go about it. I'd personally be more persuaded by you arguing for what you actually want (no kids during the scope of the quest) rather than treating it as some sort of slippery slope.

I for one will not vote for kids until we own at least 1.75 continents.

Hey, let's not be hasty. I think we can afford to wait until we have approximately 2 continents, and extra-planar holdings. :p

Hey, Sothoryos is waiting to be taken. We even have a permanent and free teleport spot there where we can build a panic house.

Make that 2.75 continents.
Eh. With Westeros ours, the Sothoryos colonization continuing as planned, the Mindflayer city a burning crater, the Legions returning from crushing Slavers Bay and the sorry remnants of the Ghiscari Empire and Lya having just personally slaughtered the entire Warlocks of Quarth for their temerity to support them, life will be good. And the only way that it could be better would be the sound of tiny half-dragon claws echoing through the FLYING DOOM-FORTRESS.

Okay, it's not really a slippery slope.

But it will be the next expectation. Both for newcoming questers OOC and for our people IC.

I guess as long as Azel has an iron grip on the hearts and minds of us poor little voters all is good.

After that we have extra-planar campaigns. I want to crush the Fiends and the Efreeti before having children.

I'll consider us in the clear for being relatively safe after we have the skull the Sultan of the City of Brass in our collection.

Of course having children before building a giant mobile DOOMFORTRESS where we can house them is a bad idea. 2 continents sounds about right.

Us not marrying Lya is very good politically, for now, as it keeps Westerosi great houses doubting themselves. "Ah should I declare for the Lannisters?? But Viserys has not yet married... if my daughter could net him then I'd be unstoppable!"

We honestly can do without the delusional nutcases and the gold-diggers.

Keeping them guessing makes them less effective, but eh, not going to die on this hill. My main concern with marrying Lya would be to make it an awesome event, we guests from around the world and a lot of magic. Some may prefer a more quiet ceremony though, probably the couple itself as well...

While I am approving of the notion of marriage I also would like to point out that this is the same couple who, when trying to go on a date, somehow ended up fighting a reaper monster in the North. A marriage would be cause for a apocalypse or at least the burning of a city

Given that it would be a state act, we would definitely need a grand event to celebrate the occasion.

However, I would greatly prefer to have the public wedding be a month or so after the private wedding, where only people we give a fuck about are invited.

...

Though that would also involve a lot of political figures, but at least no hanger-ons. I've got no problem with the Martells, Royces, Uthero, Hermetia and maybe a few others to attend the private ceremony.

As far as I'm concerned he's Lord Velaryon's problem and we can ignore him now that the man knows how much of an utter moron his brother is.

We got a baby PC and a budding dragonlord out of the deal, so all in all good things for us.
I've merely wanted to remind you that not all noble allies are actually useful to have.

...

And now I'm having horror visions of the Tyroshi trying to push their daughters at us.
