-[X] Place an initial order for 50 Large-sized (1000 IM) and 50 Medium-sized (800 IM) Masterwork Double Crossbows.
--[X] The Large weapons will only be given to those Minotaurs Richard is convinced have the discipline to properly care for them and the necessary skill to use them effectively. The Medium weapons will first be used by Sorcerer's Deep guards, but may eventually be issued for use on certain ships. A number of them will be used for training our future Legionnaires in their use.
-[X] Inquire of the Tinker Fey what it would cost to produce a Huge-sized variant for use as a mobile artillery or siege weapon, or possibly to mount on our ships and Small-sized and Hand Cross-bow sized variants for easier concealment or for use by our less massive citizens.

@DragonParadox, we just sold 15 pounds of Mithral for 300 IM. Going from a 20 pound chainmail, that's a material value of 306 IM.

Special material pricing is weird. FInished goods almost never cost what they should, given the stuff's per pound value. Mithral, for example, is 500 gold (100 IM) per pound. 15 pounds should have cost 1500 IM, before markup, @DragonParadox.

We only have 17 actually competent and loyal Minotaurs capable of wielding such weapons in large, sure you want to give them to the ones who might break them while bashing enemies heads in with the crossbow?

My vote isn't to assign the weapons to the Minotaurs. It's just to have them produced while we have the funds and the opportunity. That way we'll have one ready for each Minotaur who crosses into PC level territory. I'll clarify my plan.

Actually, @Crake and Duesal, this is the text of Alter Self, which Polymorph refers to:

So yes, Amulets and rings and belts should work without a problem.

Anything short of capes should work, or be made to work with Wildling Clasps.

Our every Grand Speech is more or less "be the flame against the darkness" yes.

I was just about to comment it.

In fact, since the Spinagon debacle, I've said that. We need to sit down and talk.

First, read the "Lonmouth Style" entry on Paragon Knight. I more or less took DP's explanation of how he learned Spell Turning (he learned it from training with the Seeker, who has anti-magic hardwired into his being, and copying it to an extent) and ran away with it.

I was just thinking about a 6~10 level long base class that's a White Raven-only initiator, as a dedicated commander.
Oh I did read the Loudmouth Style and I liked it. I just proposed a alternate crazy theory for the hell of it.

Here's something I posted last month, with some very minor edits;

For the trip beyond the Wall to see Bloodraven, I think we need to plan on optimizing Dany's spell loadout and template, since it will just be Viserys, Richard, and her, unless we can get Malarys to come, too @DragonParadox? She's not normally a very good healer due to her inability to spontaneously cast Cure spells.

If she uses the Half-Celestial template, it will give her enough Cold resistance to be completely comfortable in the North, several useful SLAs, and the Wisdom boost will give her additional spell slots that will come in handy. Her spells will be more difficult to resist as well, and she'll have more Turnings/Day due to the Charisma boost which could be useful against Wights or for more Divine Metamagic shenanigans.

Here's what I'm thinking for her temporary Bloodraven mission-specific loadout, with the additional 2nd, 3rd, and 6th level bonus spells.

Level 0 (6/day): Cure Minor Wounds, Detect Poison, Detect Magic, Mending, Message x2
Level 1 (6+D/day): Blessed Aim, Endure Elements x2, Ice Slick, Moment of Greatness, Sign, Detect Secret Doors(D)
Level 2 (6+D/day): Alter Self, Close Wounds x2, Cure Moderate Wounds, Sound Burst x2, Resist Energy(D)
Level 3 (6+D/day): Alter Fortunex2, Blindness/Deafness, Cure Serious Wounds, Dispel Magic, Searing Light, Greater Magic Fang(D)
Level 4 (4+D/day): Heart of the Earth, Panacea x2, Venom Bolt, Divination (D)
Level 5 (3+D/day): Boneshatter, Break Enchantment, Life's Grace, Revivify, True Seeing(D)
Level 6 (2+D/day): Harm, Heal, Wind Walk, Find the Path(D)

Dimensional Anchor and Plane Shift are both going to be useless North of the Wall, so we can swap them out without question. I've used most of the freed up or new slots for healing magic. Break Enchantment is there to undo something serious being inflicted on Viserys or Richard, and Wind Walk is there for travel purposes and a hasty escape that doesn't rely on Teleportation of any sort. Also swapped in Divination in place of Voice of the Dragon. We end up using Divination quite often, while Dany very rarely uses VotD. If we need it on the trip, I would rather her not need to use Ideas to cast it.

Any recommendation or suggestions?

Well he is not exactly thrilled at vising the frozen howling wilderness filled with barbarians, but he did swear himself to you so if you really want him to hell come.

My main concern was that he really only respects Viserys and Dany right now, so leaving him in SD might not be for the best. He hasn't had very long to acclimate to the rest of the party.

Well, that and I don't think any of us would mind having another Cleric available, just in case.

Just ask him to review our laws and offer an opinion on them while writing down the core parts of Valyrian law.

That keeps him busy and happy.

But there's so much going on in SD that he could get lost doing stuff for over a week without ever really needing to be called upon by anyone for basically the rest of the month. Everyone else is busy with something, too.

@DragonParadox Speaking of Malarys, an interlude with his reaction to Lya whipping up life in her laboratory, without making any pacts with the Infernal powers or sacrificing the unborn, would be neat. Dany wanted to see it, too! :p

"Come on," Dany called tugging at her hand. "I want to see Malarys' face when he sees you."

Though she knew at least part of the childish excitement was an act Mercy let herself be dragged along, after all it did sound like fun.

@Goldfish @DragonParadox

In the earlier Malarys interlude, he was musing a lot about some of the predilections of Old Valyria and the Dragonlords in particular who guided policy over the ages, mainly the making of pacts with fiends and the mass sacrifices and other dark deeds.

I would indeed think it interesting for someone who thinks greatness on par with Valyria can only be forged in the blood of countless innocents starting to see why people are hopeful of what good magic can do, rather than what terrible, horrible darkness can be wrought with it that he knows in detail, now also what good can be gleaned if bent to purpose by the right people.

In hindsight, we lucked out allying with an awakening colonial dragonlord rather than a member of the Forty. They would have been more contemptuous of our associates and our regard for our lessers.

@DragonParadox I just reread the latest chapter and noticed that Oberyn chose not to purchase an Amulet of PfE, while Nymeria did? Is he stupid, or does he already have such an item?
