The dogs are a family—parents and children. I really don't want to split them up.

This is part of the reason I'm going to have Stannis fund the expedition when the time comes. Part of that funding is going to be to get some more Blink Dogs from the Orphne Court so that Renly has a good guide. Maybe one or two to go with him, and the rest to stay with us since we know for a fact they prefer Prime Material.
Damn, i really want an agent with him, and this was the Perfect opportunity to look for more dogs.
Do we have anything we can send? Constructs?

We could possibly have Lya either build a Clockwork Servitor/other construct to go with Renly or build an Arcanum to go with Renly, but since the Arcanums are basically Lya's daughters it puts a bad taste in my mouth to send any on missions as risky as this. As for the regular construct idea, if that happens Stannis is paying for every bit of it.

Baby adventurers are a flat no from me. We ease them into adventuring, we don't freaking throw them into another plane much less the Feywyld. That's a great way to lose baby adventurers.

The Minotaurs are also a no from me because they're stupid, and the fey would easily dance circles around them and trick them into horrible fates.

I think it's unlikely that we will get her right now, since Paladins don't run away with the first pretty face that offers them something. However, we can prime her to consider us an ally and safe haven when she inevitably runs away to fight Evil.

Fenly is gone soon and so we can make sure that we are the first ally she can think of.

[X] Plan Foundations
-[X] Speak with her about her faith and, if she is willing, the revelation that gave her her powers. Don't judge or offer opinions, just listen carefully and take her serious.
-[X] Ask her what she wishes to do now. You have seen few who awoke to such power that where content or able to live a quiet life afterwards.
--[X] If she expresses that she will do what her father says or thinks best: "And yet you prayed for the strength to battle fiends, which your father certainly would have not approved of. I myself made common cause with a Baratheon, my sworn enemy, to fight them. To honor family and oaths is a important thing and yet they are not all made equal. If the darkness comes to Tarth, will you truly stand back and watch others fight?"
--[X] "We have only known the wars of men for so long that we forgot what else lurks outside our homes. The same tide that brought us our gifts has carried them along again. I see it as my duty to fight those who seek nothing but our ruin wherever I find them. I do hope you have many peaceful years before you, but I need to portents to know that you will one day face something that you will not be able to let stand. Know that you will be not alone if you decide to take up arms against on that day."
-[X] Give her a spare PfE: "Something more tangible then platitudes I wish to give you. A warding against the creatures of the pit and against those who wish to muddle your mind. I've seen to many who prefer to believe that no monsters are out there, even when the evidence stares into their faces. Likewise, the Devils are a vengeful bunch and I can not leave you in good conscience without offering some aid to you. Nothing I want in return, but the knowledge that it will serve a good purpose."
-[X] As a parting: "Should you ever find yourself in need of a safe haven, my gates are always open to those who come as friends. We have to stand united against what is coming or we will succumb."
-[X] If she asks your opinion on the Seven: "Many heartfelt prayers I have send to them when I was your age and yet they never answered me. I'm glad that you where granted their aid in your hour of need and yet I must admit little love for them after all the times my pleas where met with silence. Do you think they hate me for who I was born as the septons like to claim about my family?"

That should cover everything. Important core her is showing favor, respect and treating her as older and smarter then a kid her age. A heartfelt gift because she is special rounds up the picture. Sadly this is nothing you can rush, but the environment is on our side. Brienne won't accept decorum lessons when we offer her a sword.

By the way, who's up for letting Dany befriend her?
I thought that was the plan anyway?

@Azel, we should bring Dany up here to talk to Brienne.
I don't think you guys have a spare PfE amulet.
@DragonParadox, we don't have a spare. We're giving her Garin's regular Amulet of PfE and crafting him a new one next turn. Yes, Garin will be without the benefit of an Amulet, but at the start of our diplomancing it's a necessary sacrifice.

Garin is not wearing his right now and since he has no combat scheduled for the turn, I'm fine with that.

We improve his belt first thing next turn.

And remember that we waltzed into Mantarys with too few PfEs and got out just fine. Our one shot at corrupting Brienne is worth it.

This, and we don't even have to squeeze it into Lya's crafting schedule. We can just have Leila make the Amulet right now.

@Azel, can you add getting Dany for the meeting?

DP rated this Insightful.
Look, I'm not invested in turning Brienne away from the Seven, but if you want to accomplish it the easiest and cleanest way to do so isn't to try to recruit her, its to befriend her. She's a lonely child who has come into power she will struggle to understand, and will likely be fighting terrible foes (I don't believe the Warrior will let her sit on her hands, no matter how much Lord Tarth might wish it). Be her friend, adviser, giver of magical items, and confidant if possible. Most of all leave her religion out of things. What you want is when the church or the Warrior sends down the smite order, her first thought is 'but Viserys/Daenerys is my friend, they fight evil and haven't done me any wrong.'
So I want to get started on Diplomacy via friendship ASAP.

EDIT: Son of a bitch.

No way are we giving her Garin's PfE Amulet. Please remove that from the plan, @Azel. Remember Garin owes Burny a favor. Needlessly compromising a party members mental defenses for a non-party member child soldier of enemy gods is simply stupid.

Give her a custom suit of armor so she can learn to fight in it properly at her young age.

Garin > Brienne

Also, we can't forget to bring Davos with Stannis.

Damm, but Davos is awesome :'(

@All, @DragonParadox Any possibility on (now that we have Stannis' and Frenly's trust regarding magical matters), filling them in on our observations and conjecture (very hidden magic on Frenly, he called on a god)? It may be very relevant, and is in the spirit of "honestly best advice and context we can give"

Also, if we give them further advice we might be able to get permission for an inn. I can live without it, but I would find it hilarious for us to succeed.

Garin > Brienne
Not the same symbolism. Not nearly as effective.
And an armor is too martial right now. The PfE is exactly what we need for this.

@DragonParadox, can we take Richard and Dany along? I just wanted to add it as you closed the vote.

With specifically telling Dany that we are not collecting people for her, but for our own purposes.

Vote closed, and it's unanimous.

And I've been away, but would like to point out to @Azel that giving her our amulet of PfE would be a much bigger deal than giving Garin's. Neither have anything past the PfE enchantment, so same difference materially.

Also, but rude to give away a party member's loot. Like, bearable, especially when there is a replacement, but rude.

Changes in green.

And I've seriously got 7 name-votes before even posting a plan?

@Azel, let's avoid talks about the Seven if we can.

insightful for a reason. Emphasis on monster slaying and protecting the world, take the spotlight away from religion.
