@DragonParadox, can you tell us what class levels Renly currently has, or any odd features aside from his race?
What about a combat situation where there are otherwise neutral or friendly fey near him where they suddenly see he has a cold iron weapon? The +1 Fiery Hand sword might work better.
The sword of Distracting?
1 Fiery Hand Longsword (+1 Distracting)
Then I'd insist Renly stay for several months doing nothing but training before we even consider seeing him off to the Feywyld.

Do we have anyone that can seduce him to stay?
I was about to suggest Azema, but this Renly was created to be the epitome of nobility and honor. He's not going to be swayed from his "righteous quest". The only way to get him to even temporarily stay is if we offer him lessons and training to help him prepare for his quest.

By the way, we should ask our own fey who exactly the Horned Lord is and how Renly would need to find him.

I do not think azema is properly .. equiped to seduce him. I could be wrong tho, you never know with demon girls.

I worry that if the two Renlys come into contact with one another the Renplacement will cease to exist. Or they will be compelled to kill one another, similar to the effects of a Mirror of Opposition.

A month of training with Richard would probably be prudent. The bare bones stuff he needs is improvement to his armor if it isn't already masterwork, segmented, reinforced plate (Lya is ridiculous), a magical sword or other means of overcoming basic fey dr, and an amulet of protection from evil.

We could probably sell a package deal of a few protection from evil amulets to Stannis (Renly for his quest, Stannis himself, and maybe a few for his family and important bannermen. I'd be willing to give him a bulk discount (and can Leila make Protection from Evil amulets yet?), by basing the markup off our actual cost, rather than hypothetical non-Lya cost).

I'm actually unsure if this Renly is homosexual at all. He's built to be noble and chivalrous, and the Faith and Westerosi society outside of Dorne are SUPER homophobic, so that might have been changed in interest of making him a "better lord".

Yes, Leila can make Amulets of PfE. She just doesn't have Dedicated Wrights to help her and she doesn't get a discount, but she can do it.

My first real informed vote of the thread. Also been reading the Book of Nine Swords and its like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Wuxia fantasy kung fu magic dream land:D:grin:

She's a good pick for producing them for a profit then, though I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of profit to get more of them in the Stormlands. It's a delicious political coup, skirting treason, for Stannis to buy magic from us.

WoT is finally here! I officially name this day, the Eight of January, as the start of the AWoT era (After Wheel of Time).

May this meme live a long life!

If he gets former Renly to retake his name, which of them would have broken a deal with a powerful Fey?
Former Renly alone or both?
I'm not sure if the Fey Lord will be angry, the hero going deep into the Feywild to save his original makes for a fantastic story.

Also I'm tenpted to send one of our baby PC squads with him, it's going to be dangerous as hell, but it's also going to be a grand adventure with plenty of EXP if they survive.

I don't think the thread would go for it, but if it was me alone choosing, I would be tempted to send Glyra and Maelor with him.

Could we give Renly one of our dogs?
It could help him guide his way, its a symbol of our goodwill.
But much more importantly, going with Renly makes It more likely the dog Will live to complete its real mission:
-find more ways into the Feywilds.
-attempt to Contact and recruit more of its kind.
-scout for valuable plants and resources.

As long as these objectives do not put him or Renly at risk of course.
@Duesal what do you think?

The dogs are a family—parents and children. I really don't want to split them up.

This is part of the reason I'm going to have Stannis fund the expedition when the time comes. Part of that funding is going to be to get some more Blink Dogs from the Orphne Court so that Renly has a good guide. Maybe one or two to go with him, and the rest to stay with us since we know for a fact they prefer Prime Material.

It is tempting, but I probably would vote against.
It is an extreme gamble, and we would lose a lot were they not to return.
