Wish list: item of speak with animals for vee, item of dimension door or at least some form of 100ft range teleport for tyene she can use in a grapple.
Right, we need to craft that. For the Speak with Animals thing we can start small 1-3 times per day, then when we have the funding we can have Lya upgrade it so that it's at-will. And agreed on the item of dimension door for Tyene. It's a shame we couldn't get Aberi's boots. :(

For all we know, dany and lya have saved a whole bunch of pech and are out of or are low on spells. Also want: some (all) of Valerias communication stones. If it's betwen those and some random shiny... Well it better be a nice shiny that wont cost time to study, or it's a firm communication stone choice for me.

Party members: Viserys, why did you raise and restore the entirety of Valeria?

Viserys: made it eiser to find and recover the most valuable of all Valeria's magics: those streets paved with communication stones!

Edit: rather than some bloodthirsty combat spear of the old gods +3, what about one that passes all dr on helpless opponenets, and if it strikes a killing blow, sacrafices tge killed thing to the old gods fully. I wouldn't be to annoyed if sone of the power is lost if we do the sacrafice on another plane though.

I mean, Yss is awesome, but a large part of that is that he's way more accessible (and... Not vengful wanker*) and easy to sacrafice to than the old gods.

*they may or may not have good reason, but by our values... Let it go dudes. The people who did this to you are dead and gone. It's not the kids fault who their parents are.

I'm sort of hoping that Viserys never reaches that conclusion IC. Because the son of the Mad King killing others for the sins of their father's fathers times 1000 isn't going to end well. :(

An earrings of the wolf set for the whole party, or a farspeaking amulet would be useful.

Actually, earrings of the wolf would be perfect for improved command and control in our legions, but the cost there starts to really mount up.

Yss is also better than the Old Gods in that he's one God with pretty consistent values, while the Old Gods are a ton of different nature Gods who only have general things that they don't like, but can tolerate (see Bloodraven).

I imagine that the Old Gods won't get many more followers after we slaughter a bunch of noble families in their name for sins that they didn't personally commit.

We promised to end their lines. We didn't promise to personally string them up on heart trees. I'm aiming for a poison (or magic) that sterilizes men, ending their lines without directly murdering anyone.

What if we just changed their family names and exiled them?

I don't mind killing them all if it comes down to it, but the OG sure are asking a lot and they haven't done much for us at all. We'll be able to resurrect Viserys' mother with our own power soon enough.

And we have to pay through the metaphorical nose to get empowered Heart Trees.

If we fed all the Maenad to Yss, I bet we could get something better than a marginally useful Heart Tree.

There's also tainting their lines with First Men blood like Danar Crowl apparently did when he had a child with Alyssa Grafton.

And there's the slim possibility of getting Andal houses to forswear the Seven.

A point about the Old Gods, though: they're most likely a hivemind. The current theory is that whenever a Child of the Forest died their subconscious joined the hivemind in a network of Heart Trees. Some of these Children were likely witness to the Andal invasion. This is a deeply raw and personal desire for vengeance, and I completely understand why they want their revenge so much. Of course, we'll try our best not to deliver since going Stupid Evil would be counter-productive to our schemes of conquering the world, but the Old Gods can probably be somewhat appeased. For example, we're definitely going to run into the Faith Militant at some point. And that paladin that was chosen by the Seven solely to kill us? The Faith Militant and the Paladin would most likely be enough to appease the Old Gods at least a little bit.

Don't mess with my Diplomacy tree, Goldfish. I don't care what sacrifices happen after that, but I want that tree.

To be fair, Bloodraven has been feeding Lya and Waymar magic since forever, as well as in general being very helpful towards us. We just never bother to try and talk to him anymore.

Just exiling the lines would likely piss off the Old Gods, since it's essentially trying to weasel out of the deal, so Bloodraven would be obligated to fuck with us at that point. We could probably get away with doing so, but the Old Gods would be super pissed at us. We've seen how long they can hold grudges.

Ehhh, the Seven already hate us. I don't want to be fighting both the old gods and the new. Best not go back on such promises.

Furthermore, by using slow and indirect methods, we can claim to be "working on it" with utter honesty, and still not cross lines we'd rather not.

Old gods don't want worship, and to do so would annoy yss due to wasted food(prayer). They're not strictly speaking; gods. God-like in power, but I imagine there is as much qualitative difference between them and a god as there is betwnn Ymerli and a god. Probably a fair bit more.

One thing that I really really think would be (potentially) benefical to know is why the seven came to wasteros and promised land in the first place

Bestow curse can grant fertility curses. And there is also a version of bestoe curse tha5 affects the whole family. Pretty easy to end a line that way

That's weeks of meditation to talk to Bloodraven. :/ We can't spare that kind of time. That's why we were like, "Fuck it, we'll just see him in person."

We'll have to figure it out in the future. If it comes down to it I'm willing to end the houses in the name of the Old Gods, but for loyalist houses like the Graftons I'd much rather not spit on their loyalty.

What I want is their holy artifacts. There's Hugor's crown made by the Father, fashioned from seven stars. Then there's 44 god-forged suits of Iron worn by Hugor's sons. The Old Gods would be ecstatic if we sacrificed those.

Huh. That's a really convenient way to do it.

I imagine that the Valyrian Freehold and their Lawful Evil shenanigans were pretty scary to everyone that wasn't them, so the Seven gave their followers visions to get out of dodge and go to the land across the sea that doesn't have Evil Dragon People.

Now whether they told their followers to genocide the First Men or their followers did it of their own volition I'm not sure, but I imagine that anyone would want to get as far away from the Freehold as humanly possible.

Even if the Old Gods don't want worship, I'm pretty sure they still get power out of it, so it's not "wasted". If Yss was mad about Old God worship he probably would have brought it up already, since I'm pretty sure we have some Old God worshipers in Sorcerer's Deep.

Wall of text alert! Rambling ahead.

Ok, since we're talking about this now, I'm just gonna get on my computer (feck that fecking touchscreen of crappiness +2) and expand on something that has been percolating in my mind for quite some time. I'm gonna check on the terms of our bargain exactly, but we need to
-End some lines?
-Humble the seven?
-Spill some septon blood??

Really not sure about the last one.

So, the above really gives us a lot of room to operate in.

We could go the simple route, stupid-evil it up and sacrifice some septons, kill a few of their chosen ones, break and somehow exploit their places of power. And have the south hating us for 3-4 generation in general, and many families hating us forever (100 generations style, that is a trend in planetos, apparently), having brought religious war and the probable death of many, many thousands (at minimum) as people try to kill the followers of the seven thinking we like it when that sort of thing happens. And then the followers defend themselves. Or they get organised by their priests and gods to fight back.

This will continue, distracting us, and weakening Westeros as the long night approaches. Having done that, and suddenly, Ice Zombies/Demons attack, all the survivors band together and stop trying to kill each other in the face of a greater threat.

A peace forced by an outside threat is the shittest type, but frequently, it's what motivates people into... not being muderous asholes.

We could do that. Or. We go full dragon at level 15/16 (leaving that decision to the class planners, unless we gain the size increase when we go from 15->16, even if we ascend at level 15). Anyway, all the skillpoints, all the stat bonuses. Then we break out the diplomancy.

We haven't attacked each other yet; directly.
Ourselves and the seven. No blood has been drawn, no (visible) harm done (they are countering us in Sunspear)

Lucian shows up (hopefully after we ascend to dragon), and we just.. talk. Neither of us want people to suffer and die. The only reason that he's out to get us is that his gods warned him, who only did that because of our deal (I'm assuming that's the 'why' here, they could just be asshole/have their own plans).

We can bring up the threat of the Other (i.e. the big diplomatic stick that we have never used on anyone, and existential threat is a big deal). We point out the losses, the suffering, the time wasted we could have spent preparing for the coming of the Long Night.

We point out that the Old Gods don't want worship, that they, more than most other god-things, are actually compatible with the seven as most of their (seven) food comes from worship, and the old gods only accept sacrifice*.

Depending on the reason for the Andal invasion, we use that, we point out the atrocities carried out on the Children and the First Men.
We beg of them, desperately, in the name of peace, in the name of moving forward without further strief, to humble themselves and apologize. We can try to take it further. We can even ask them to do it, not just because that the gods, old and new working together without fighting, can better face the coming of the Other, but because peace is better than war. People living free is better than dying to a pointless conflict.

In the sept that has the heart tree, Lucian can sacrifice like 5 hp to the old gods as a symbolic gesture. Rather than rivers forcefully taken from thousands, a drop, from the champion of the seven, willingly given. An accord of peace!

Also, curses of infertility, (but not impotence, that would make a large number of people unhappy :p), backed by oaths to not break them, and come get new ones if they end up broken, in front of the trees and in the light of the seven from the houses who perpetrated the atrocities.

*The Seven can have westeros, if they're greedy about their share of the worship pie (I expect they will be). Yss can have the magical capital of the world :D

Not something I've brought up before, but I'm pretty sure others have had the same idea.

And... if we fail, well, at least we tried dammed hard.

Also, if it was the Lords of Air and Fire that drove out the Seven, which lead to the Andal invasion; well, it would only be fitting that their eldest living heir (Dany makes 'Greatest' appellations... wrong, what with her being a full 85% as ridiculous as Lya) helps bring peace.

@Duesal It took us days to get a sleep to talk to Bloodraven, without dany's help. I think. I dunno where you're getting weeks from. Considering how much of a big deal weeks vs days is, I'd ask for a citation, but that is a terrible thing to request in a 1 mil word story, so I'll just ask, how sure are you that it's weeks? I am... unconvinced without at least one vague general statement that you can paraphrase as something indicating that*.
I am... fairly confident that we spent 3 days both times we spoke with him, or 3 days the first time, and one day when we went with dany.
*Citation standards fell as soon as I realised what I was asking for lol :p

Problem is we're anathema to the Seven. We are an abomination of incest, who has used blood magic. We are friends with prostitutes, gamblers, and bastards, all things the seven's faith preaches against. Lucan's interlude also speaks of a prejudice against arcane magic users, and particularly sorcerers due to antipathy towards the Valyrians.

At this point, even without the old gods, we'd need to humble the seven just to rule Westeros.

To be honest I'm fine with some well crafted vengeance. We just need to be very through with it for certain subjects, and while killing everyone is one option, making large population of seven worshipers to renounce the Seven in front of a Heart Tree is deliciously ironic.

Bonus point if they sacrifice someone from the faith militant.

@BeepSmile, I'm not pulling this out of my ass. This is what DP told us when we asked about it. It's precisely why we haven't already contacted Bloodraven.

[X] Try to commune with Bloodraven to find a way to either realign the figurehead with the Old Gods or to dispose of it in a safe and preferably insulting fashion.
Would we need to hang some shark people to make this work?
Either that or a few weeks of meditation in the Godswood.
@DragonParadox , do we have to pray for weeks to talk with Bloodraven? Or is it simpler than that?
You can either sacrifice something or someone or pray for weeks to talk to to Bloodraven. Remember you were on the same time scale before... it cost you an action and you had to traverse the metaphysical distance in the dreamscape.
Yes, we've spoken to Bloodraven before, but Braavos is much closer to him than Sorcerer's Deep. Also, we are NOT risking the dream world to talk to him. Tiamat and other things are out there.

Being incestous is bad. If a person is a child of incest, then that is not their fault. Valeria is dead. Dead and being scavenged over. If arcane magic is hated because of the dragonlords, well dany and ourselves aren't assholes, it can be warm feels and hugs and forgiveness all round if get like 15 diplo crits every time we talk to the seven and the old gods.

If not, well, we do have a list. And there are seven of them.
One for us, one for dany, one for lya, another for Yss, one or two for the old gods, and the remaining one or two can be put up at a private auction on the isle of gods in brravos. Invite only, no assholes.

@Duesal. Shit dude, you found an actual quote. Um wow. Also, thanks. :)

So it does take weeks. Dammit. Cut somethings throat and then take a nap for a good signal looks to be the quickest way, if potentially more perlious than physically traveling into the area nearest the land of always winter. And I wouldn't be surprised if the chill air cuts right through an endure elements spell also.

The demands were fairly vague. End some lines, mostly in the Vale and Riverlands - but IIRC, DP directly said that the OG would calm down with every part of their vengeance that we completed, and eventually the voices of revenge would be drowned out. Which means we have latitude to focus on crushing those Andal-descended Houses that we're actually fighting.

And there is unlikely to be a shortage of those.

Edit: I do want to interact with the OG more, though. They're quite important to the Westerosi plot.

You're applying your view point to gods, largely unchangeable beings (the changes upon Yss were due to how he was dead and reborn). It doesn't matter if it isn't our fault, we're still abominations of incest. That's how the Seven Pointed Star rolls. *shrugs*

Ah, that's useful. We'll need to have Bloodraven give us a full list.

Ah, that's useful. We'll need to have Bloodraven give us a full list.

From what I remember of that discussion, there is none. The deal was: we aid the Old Gods in their vengeance, and in exchange they help us reconquer Westeros. 'Some lines they would see ended', but the only one they mention by name is the Graftons, and they already seem to be taking care of that without us. The details are up for us to decide, so long as the OG are satisfied with our services.

This is not to deny that they ask for a great deal, but then they potentially offer much as well.

As for peace with the Seven... we'll need to make a deal eventually; the difficulty will be in ensuring that it is on our terms, and not theirs.

The Old God's wants to humble the Seven... Oh I know! Once we get the Day of Change ritual, let's sacrifice the Seven Statues Aegon made out of the ships. The one Stannis burns in canon.

Granted, they could just be statues, but really. I feel they're important somehow.

We should definitely secure those things when we take Dragonstone.
