Pretty sure Walder has been supporting us and doing it pretty well if I remember correctly. Also one of the few people to actually come to us for a deal.
 
Seeing that this will be a major turning point of history - Certainly the start of a New Age - I wonder what effort is going to be put into capturing it, perhaps the creation of the 'Remembrancer' role?

Though perhaps we should call them Chroniclers instead for the sake of some in this thread

Also, we are recording the whole event with Serpent Stone recorders. Likewise, we will record other important events in the future.

I like this entire plan except for the very last line...
Why are we eschewing all other titles? It's not like the Sultana is doing it.

I'm not a huge fan of the name "Imperium Sempiternum", but this point I've given up on curbing the infinite Latin. AFAIK Latin isn't even a thing in-setting, but that's never stopped us so far!
Still, if we're going to call our realm "Imperium" I'd prefer if we stuck with that. "The Imperium" will do, especially as there's no Empire that uses exactly that name. And being informally known as "the Dragon's Empire" will do wonders for the cult of personality and long-term goals we used to have. Remember when we wanted to make our name synonymous with "Emperor", so that our citizens wouldn't even dream of deposing us?

My linguistic OCD wouldn't let me stick with just "The Imperium", since that does make sense as an informal name, but not as a formal one. Take note that it was the Imperium Romanum too, despite no other Imperium existing.

How about we name it after ourselves? Or after our dynasty?

I really liked the old "removing Viserys is literally unthinkable to our citizens in a few dozen generations" goal, you see. I'd just prefer to achieve it through social conditioning and not through Fey-style mass mind-control.

We have no dynasty. We intend to rule eternally, as you yourself just pointed out.

Naming it the Targaryen Empire is actively detrimental for that goal by implying another Targeryen could be placed on the throne.

I can't think of any even more specific name that wouldn't simply sound tacky. "Viserys' Hoard" is funny, but won't work. o_O

I get you. I tried for a long while too and "Eternal Empire" is the only thing I came up with that has no unfortunate implications about potential Viserys replacements or sounds like the (potentially edgy) teenager version of naming a state. And before someone suggests it, I'm especially unfond of any "Dragon Empire" shenanigans, since a) there already was one, namely proto-Valyria, b) it implies that Amrelath or someone else could take over and c) sounds corny as hell.

(And it's not as if I didn't have recent practice with naming stuff like that, but for once, I'm not going to stoop to subtle puns.)
