Maybe she hopes to prevent Tywin from salting the very earth with his fancy new anti-dragon weapon and doesn't think she can do it from outside.

In any case, as long as she refuses to surrender or defect, she is fair game to be KIA during battle.
She's the most powerful caster the Lannisters have, and Lana has had plenty of time to make her decisions. I think one of our opening moves should be a steam cannon round through her bedroom window at 1am, or something similarly final.

Lana's likely to be a key part of whatever they're doing, and even if she isn't she's still too powerful to let run around.

The thread with Lana right now:

(And I couldn't be happier)

Re the construct, part of me thinks maybe it got superpowers by that Aasimar awakening conduit to the Plane of Earth down in Casterly Rock. Planar Leyline fuckery is always a good boost to shenanigans!

Nothing about mass cloning has been brought up yet.

Speaking of murdering people though, what's the threads opinion on sending Praetorified Sandor, Oberyn, Tyene and Waymar to pay a visit to Gregor Clegane and Armory Lorch in the 4th month?
It's not executing our own vassals when we extrajudicially murder them before they become our vassals. :grin2:

Or does someone want to give them a fair trial before hanging them?

I'm a sentimental softie who wants to give Sandor his CLEGANEBOWL and Elia a chance to spit in his face. (if she wants to and doesn't just wana move on)

Ah. In that case, I would like to propose a solution to this problem:

Jokes aside, I'd still look into raiding the Lannister laboratories, if we can cram it into the schedule. They might have some unique resources that are worth acquiring and there's no point in taking unnecessary risks.
However, the odds of Lana being able to bang something together that can do more to the Dauntless then scratch up the paint job is pretty much nil. The hull has hardness 21 and 455 HP per square. Which only matters if the thing can get close enough to actually attack it before the weaponry turns it into scrap.

What it could do though is to hide in the mines of Casterly Rock and force us to dig it out by sending a group after it, or collapsing the mountain on top of it. Either way, it would take a bit to get rid of it. So it might just be a diversion for Lana to be able to grab her family and skedaddle to a refuge on the planes if things go sour. Or to buy Tywin time to destroy evidence of whatever he was up to in regards to mind control, Fiend calling or other things that would be bad for his reputation.

Relaying from PMs woth DP for transparency's sake.
Slaver's bay Devils (living and dead)

7 Erinyes
8 Bone Devils
1 Ashmede
15 Gaavs (Lesser Host Devils)
6 Magaavs (Greater Host Devils)
9 Imps
Slaver's bay Devils True Names obtained (Serve Asmodeous unless specified):
5 Erinyes (1 Servant of Mammon)
1 Ashmede
6 Gaavs (2 unaffiliated)
2 Imps

SD summoned imps: No names (they are imps no one is going to let them hold a name over them)

Summoned Devils First month:
1 Dogai, 7 Magaav, 9 Gaav, 2 Accomplice Devils (Servants of Asmodeus) --- 3 steps removed from the Devils from Slavers' Bay captured originally.
3 Atropocustra, 8 Erynies (Servants of Mammon) --- can't even begin to guess where from originally
Summoned Devils First Month True Names:
5 Salikotals, 2 Ink Devils, 3 Gaavs (Servants of Asmodeus)
2 Erinyes (Servants of Mammon)

------------------------
And can we all agree that we will not summon the allegedly Mammon's Erynie that the ones we captured/killed in Slavers' Bay knew?

That feels like the "stupid greedy"-sort of security risk.

That aside, the quoted above are all the True Names we have to work with for 2nd month's summoning.
Gotta try and pull weight eith 3rd mjnth spree, methinks.

Summon her and if she tries to swear false oaths, it's into Yss gullet with her.
I feel like "false oaths" won't be a thing a plant/pawn of Asmodeus' would get caught at.

The Uniilas had (some) memories changed so thoroughly that we couldn't even see that change in bookified forms of theirs, IC.

A pawn wouldn't even be aware they have some sort of subliminal trigger, if they were to be 'planted' within the reach of a particular summon-happy draginlord, imo.

Agreed. She's not worth the risk, IMO. We can just kill her and let Hell sort it out when she's reborn sometime next century.

Those mental triggers would still be detectable though. There's a difference between a sleeper agent and just having someones memories scrubbed clean and if anyone can detect that, then Yss.

But ultimately, I don't care all that much.

I'm guessing the ritual they're using was acquired from less than credible sources, since this is the first inkling we've gotten of Lanna and her mages practicing any sort of sacrificial magic. If we don't interfere with their ritual and allow the Construct to come online, there's a decent change that its animating force is going to be something sent by the Efreeti.

We've speculated over the years about the likelihood of Tywin throwing in with Devils, but we don't often talk about Lanna being a Sha'ir. If she's desperate for an anti-Dragon weapon, she would be far more likely to turn to the Elemental Planes rather than to Hell, and among those Planes, the Efreeti are not only our avowed enemies, they also have the most expertise with empowering Constructs and sacrificial magic.

/fingers crossed the anti-Dragon Construct will end up being formed from Living Brass

One more reason to interrupt the working before it's done.

If another power is behind this the contruct might teleport away and be a properly-supported foe somewhere else, later, instead of flying at tge Dauntless and getting killed.

Which reminds me that there is a portal to the PoE under Casterly Rock.

Did we ever figure out where the other end of it?
It would be quite a marvelous invasion route to send a contingent of Praetori through there.

No, we never really bothered with Lannisters, learning about them included.
From either end of Planar connection.

I suppose that Shaitan don't allow their people say "I'm Lannister-aligned" publically is already a win of sorts under such conditions.

Hm... shouldn't be hard to divine the portal. Use a regular Divination to get a rough idea of where it is, then make it more precise with a Commune and lastly you can find the exact location by going near it and using Find the Path to locate the shortest route to Casterly Rock.

Say, @Azel, @egoo, @Goldfish, what are we doing with all the different mercenary groups we hired from...everywhere we have visited. Are they doing something or just feasting their days away on our money?
We only hired a couple aquatic mercenary companies, I think, and they're still on contract, IIRC. They should have at least three months left on their contracts, so they're at least available if needed.

I don't think we ever properly tracked those and thus they are indeed just sitting around and doing not much of value.

This seems a bit too paranoid. Yeah, Asmodeus himself wouldn't get caught, but we're talking a lowly Erinyes. She won't be able to hide any false intentions from Yss in the heart of his power, he should be able to detect a false oath since that's something he explicitly loathes.

A bit of bad news guys, I'm not feeling up to writing today, at least not a proper post. I'll be working out some notes in the background and hopefully post tomorrow.
I don't pray, but I will direct all of my hate at whatever disease is messing with you, DP.

Pay no attention to the sensation of tentacles squirming under your skin that you may experience. That's perfectly natural! 🐙
