@DragonParadox, regarding the others like Jeyne, is it possible for us to track them via divinations and Discern Location? Seems pretty important to find them given that they're the ultimate sleeper agents.

No, you can't really trace them, very much by the design of the Deep Ones, their minds, the ones making the decisions for the puppet bodies are behind anti-divination wards.

Speaking of Kennos @DragonParadox you included Thoros in this previous interlude, but he's not assigned with this group.

That was an error for writing late. Fixed now.

"Novels, histories, poetry, fables, legends, atlases...." To your amazement it seems as though he intends to rattle off every category in the entire shop, not needing to even stop to breathe.
How much would it and it's shop be worth, @DragonParadox? Can Viserys guess in-character what would this thing be interested in?
Thanks to a time-warping rating from @Dale Williamson, I have found another long-lost point of interest.

So, @DragonParadox, do we now?
Do we have enough bling to buy out The Librarian's whole stock?

More money then is in your treasury by a considerable margin.

So I'm looking at the winning vote and something is a little unclear, why are you guys haveing Rina try to bluff the enemy instead of say Zherys who has higher bluff?

Because we're dumb.
I say roll with our moments of stupidity during plan-making, it'll cost us and make us think twice in the future :)

On another note, AFAIK @Goldfish's reasoning was "Rina isn't bluffing - we're bluffing Rina, and so she'll be entirely truthful from her point of view".

[X] Viserys asks, "How can we free you if you have become one with this structure?"

Hmm... I'd say about 1.5 Million IM.
...hey, @Crake, do we have enough bling?

I think this batch of lore is the second biggest we can get to in any reasonable amount of time, outshadowed only by Valyria's Great Library - and unlike there, we don't have to fight multiple CR~20 encounters to get to it.
...And then clear it without dirther destroying books.
...And hold it long enough to loot it to bedrock.
etc.

We have all the bling. ~130 million IM is sitting in our vaults thanks to the raid of the Adamantine convoy.

... Speaking of which, @DragonParadox, I hope there are similarly vulnerable locations we can raid in the near future. I love having rich enemies.

It's possible.

Since the vote is still in flux would you guys mind if we left it at two updates today? As @Crake's correction with Thoros/Kennos showed I make silly mistakes when I write late.

There is always the mine itself
But no, seriously.

We but need to time it right and we can probably jump even greater amount of Adamantine right at the source.
We've got a fair bit of additional firepower since last bout, and will likely deal with Timmie by then to boot.

Or, we can take part in extraplanar war more directly.
As outlined in these:
[] Changing the Battlefields, One at a Time: take a personal part in war against Efreeti - hopefully breaking stalemates beyond mortal memory.
-[] The Ashen Cysts: Said to be the colony of some lost formian realm the Cysts tower above the shores of the Sea of Fire like a trio of oddly pyramidal mountains. They lie atop valuable deposits of iron, copper, and other base metals. The vast fortresses that have sprung up upon the slopes also provide a deep pool of azer slaves known as 'the Pale Ones' as they are raised in total darkness before they see the light of the auction block.
Status: Partial Shaitan encirclement. The network of old formian tunnels has proven hard to cut off even when the Shaitan otherwise closed the gap.
-[] Div's Delight: Once these caverns at the edge of the Plane of Fire were a place of great, if stark and unforgiving, beauty but centuries of attrition to claim the easy passages between the realms has made them into a haunted wasteland, most beloved of the wretched div who hunt the warriors of both sides to add to their ranks.
Status: Centuries old stalemate
Djinn and Shaitan face significant resistance in some places that we can personally deal with.
Likely for great deal of profit, too.

These aren't profitless either, and highly sabotaging for Efreeti efforts at the core.
[] A Fire, on Fire turned: Aid the rebel Salamander Kingdoms by striking at their rivals (Opposition: ??; Rewards: ??)

[] The Enmity Undying: Negotiate with the Lich King Salamander and potentially turn him against the Brazen Throne (Opposition: ??; Rewards: ??).

There is always the mine itself

Well yes, there is that, but I'm after more. I want to swoop down on entire fleets of Turtle Ships, I want to claim all the Living Brass possible, etc.
It's possible.

No worries, we don't need three updates every day.

In the meantime is it okay if I asked a few questions, @DragonParadox?

1. What bonus can we get for making messenger services via hiring our Pegasus herd? Granted, this is probably only going to be for Sorcerer's Deep and the Stepstones, but still.
2. The Sons of the Harpy in Slaver's Bay are mostly defunct now, with the real problem being the Asmodeus cult corrupting the worshipper of the Lady of Spears, but that said what news do we have of the Harpies themselves? The Harpy Queen was slain, so now what? Are they just a ragtag tribe now?
3. Does the Mind Flayer captain that Jeyne is about to face off against have decent psionic gear? I'm very interested in that mask. Jeyne will probably refuse to wear it, but I still want it.
4. Given all of the contacts we have in the Plane of Fire, between Maelor and Malarys working in the City of Brass, Baella Brightheart and all the Fire Whales and Lesser Phoenixes involved in the gem harvesting operations being considered friendly, and Yrten and Siduri keeping a close ear to the ground, once we get back from the Plane of Water can we have a big update briefing us on all Plane of Fire intel?
5. Given that we now have access to spells of the Ninth Circle, can we use Salvage in the future when a Turtle Ship is accidentally sunken? The spell doesn't require the ship to be on a seafloor, so we don't run into the problem that Raise from the Deep had.

Not terribly. But if you can only get an update and interlude out tomorrow, can you do the Scholarium rolls after the first update, and then the interlude afterwards?

  1. Mostly a prestige thing for the service making recruitment easier for now
  2. The Harpies scattered, but they are hardy beings and getting help from the hinterlands
  3. Well the mask at elast has some kind of magic to have that kind of flesxibility
  4. Sure
  5. As long as you get it off before the ship is crushed by the depths of the Sea of fire
@DragonParadox could we detect the bodies they are puppeteering through the use of this spell?

As long as the bodies are not also veiled yes, it will detect psionic classes and so far all the infiltrators have had that in common.

But no, seriously, @Crake and @Goldfish, can we afford to buy out The Librarian's stock?
I don't want to start pushing for spending those 1.5 million IM and then find we are tight on money we can throw around "freely" (for a given definition of "freely")

And on that matter, you told us previously we'd be getting more rumors from extraplanar war once we take more active part in it -
I'd like you to not compound it with Yi-Ti rumors if possible, is what I'm saying.

Do as you are more comfortable, of course, but we jsut haven't had a chance to see truly massive war betweeen the 3 Empires yet.

G'night all.

Detecting people under Mindblank isn't hard. We just need a few goggles of Healer's Vision. If a person does not show up under it then they are under Mindblank.

I'll keep this in mind

Fair enough I can think of some ways to split them and make things feel more organic.

Yes, we could afford it, but that's a huge sum of money, more than four times our entire monthly crafting budget.
