I want to keep the tree from Storm's End. That thing is from the Age of Heroes and will have a very nice range.

Heaven can get a newer tree.
Heaven is a mess, this tree will be our outpost there, and it will probably be under regular attacks by Daemons and the like, it will need a strong guard, and it will need to be strong, using one of the oldest trees we have access to, sound to me like a very good idea.
No you would have gotten that on a regular success, the crit was getting the OG to be more focused on the Enemy overall as opposed to other grudges.

Anyway it's ridiculously late now guys so good night, see you tomorrow with more from Heaven's Shore
So it's now easier to get the old gods to calm down about the Seven, especially I suspect, if we can convince the Seven to dedicate forces to fighting the Void.
Wait wait wait. @DragonParadox, so we crit here, and now the Old Gods' vengeance against the Andals is even more lessened?

Gods be damned, this was the single greatest thing I could have hoped for. I shall sacrifice in the name of the Dice Gods today.
Their grudge against the Seven is slightly lessened in importance, but I suspect the real gain, is that their grudge against the Others was massively strengthened, since the stronger their grudge against the Others, the more forgiveness it will buy the Seven, if they send forces to assist in fighting the Others.

The worth of Winterborn to the old gods just increased(not the worth in term of HD modifiers, worth in term of how much their opinion of you will improve per Winterborn killed) which mean the Seven can now pay a bigger chunk of their debt, by assisting in the war against the Others.
I wonder what they used to do for currency?
My guess on the currency of an intact heaven, would be that they still traded in soul-stuff, but it was harvested in a distinctly different manner than Great brass seals, when we sold our shadow no pain or suffering was involved, and we collected new EXP and regrew said shadow, I would guess that Heavenly coins were forged in a similar manner to that, people sold small amounts of EXP, and then they regained it slowly by experiencing new things.
... Are the First Men secretly really tall dwarves, while the CotF are just really hipster ones?

Because they fucking run on grudge power.
No it's simply that the old gods are grumpy old people, and you know how grumpy old people can get, with a lifespan of less than a century on average, the old gods on the other hand, has had many millennia to get ever more grumpy.

Honestly I feel every Weirwood beyond the wall should be game for replanting. Because there is no logical reason everyone of them wouldn't be just wrecked when winter rolls in. So yeah a couple hundred millennia old trees to transplant at the very least (Weiwoods not Hearttrees...unless that's what we need in which case we can just make them heart trees and transplant them).

@Goldfish

Only tangentially related to the current issue, do you think we should buy/make a Rod of Embassy for Malarys or Dany?

Rod of Embassy

There are actually many varieties of this item, and they vary so widely in appearance that it is practically impossible to characterize them at all. Each kind of rod of embassy is keyed to a different plane of existence, most to a specific Outer Plane. In general, the design and decoration of a given rod is strongly reminiscent of the plane it is keyed to. Thus, a rod of embassy keyed to the Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia is made of precious metals and includes images of archons, while one keyed to the Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo is almost amorphous, resembling an elongated ooze, though careful examination reveals the likenesses of slaadi lightly etched into its surface.
When a creature carries a rod of embassy keyed to its home plane, it is considered to be on that plane for as long as it holds the rod. The creature's type does not change, but it is no longer considered an extraplanar creature. Thus, it cannot be sent away by banishment or dismissal, or even the powerful blasphemy, dictum, holy word, and word of chaos spells. In addition, it can use similar spells to banish other extraplanar creatures as if it were on its home plane. If a creature holds a rod of embassy keyed to plane that is not that creature's home plane, the rod has no effect.
CL 9th; Craft Rod, plane shift; Market Price: 20,000 gp.

We travel the Planes a lot.
Being immune to Banishment is always nice, but here in Heaven they could even use this to cast out Daemons via Dictum and Holy Word.
Rod of the Material Plane would help.

*Looks at Jinn spymaster personally promising to set people on finding ice-resistant plants/trees after we explained that shit is Winter to everyone and why we need help against it*
*Looks at Vee managing to make Wood immune to Fire*
Yeah, no.
We can manage that one.

A very different question, indeed, if we should.
Defending trees beyond the wall from being simply... Cut down, when the Winter arrives in earnest?
That wouldn't be reasonable at all.

Making all the trees in our territory defended from being frozen?
Yeah, that has a lot of merit.

Kinda a bummer that making a Heart Tree of... Ice and Fire [:V] would likely take double+ the time of "regular" element-immune tree.

Literally when we come back home. Danar and Alyssa needed at least one or two Companions to help catch Corbray. After that Grafton is ready to sacrifice him.
Just a reminder that we crafted them a lot of gear, including a pair of Boots of the Wide Earth for Danar, so they are quite mobile. Although they may need assistance, it's not impossible for them to nab Corbray on their own.

We'll just need to talk to Bloodraven about what to do with the Heart Trees that are Beyond the Wall. I suspect he has a plan for that and we simply haven't asked him yet.

A million years from now, Weirwood trees are going to be a blight on all of Creation, taking up every bit of arable land, and even land that shouldn't support any life at all, because someone now lost to history took it upon themselves to engineer them to be virtually indestructible and able to survive anywhere but the surface of a star or the vacuum of space.

I know, but even with that we were explicitly told they'll need at least one Companion to help them with the capture as well as deal with whatever surprises may be in store. I don't intend to ignore that warning.

I'll make a note once I get back to my computer.
oh, ffs, and why did I make that bookmark "remind goldfish", on a phone that doesn't support me pushing small buttons with meaty fingers, again?
:V

Make a note of those silver arrows, or something, (the ones I sent in PMs) for erynies and all other archers of ours.

Mithral arrows? What are they going to kill?

Weirwood tree that grows from nothing, 3 effects are light, water and rich soil somehow to support other life.

Nah if Weirwood spread too much, we would just research another alteration to them, and make them fruit bearing trees, with said fruit being the most nutritious food known to the planes.

Here:
Silver Nocking Point

Price
3,150 gp; Slot none; CL 1st; Weight —; Aura faint transmutation
DESCRIPTION
This small silver cylinder is no bigger than a pinhead and is engraved with an Elven aphorism that roughly translates to "unhindered flight."
A silver nocking point can be attached to the string of any bow or crossbow. When using a weapon equipped with a silver nocking point, a character can treat penalties for wind conditions as though they were one step less severe. For example, a character firing a ranged projectile in severe wind conditions would fire at a ranged penalty of –2 instead of –4. Magical wind effects that would normally deflect the projectile (such as fickle winds) instead impose only a –8 penalty on the attack roll.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Cost 1,575 gp; Feats Craft Wondrous Item; Spells true strike
