Well there is nothing stopping you guys from making a general plan for the conclave, there are still a few more days before it starts never mind ends.

I just don't think we should have to be reliant on any one poster to carry things, nor do I think some grand master plan is basically the touch point in active participation or interest. They can in fact impede non-regular posters from trying their hand at suggesting actions if they think they'll tread on someone else's ideas.

I would rather we wing it as we go. Better to be fluid and roll with the punches than trying to conform to a script, even when the carts has come off the rails.

Sure, but you guys might want a general strategy, like what you want from each actor and general plans to get it.

I think in general we want the main factions of the Conclave to leave without having managed to achieve any of their goals meaningfully, and to ensure that each faction survives the aftermath long enough to go on and create splits and cracks in the Faith. More unity between the groups (or subjugation as I'm sure Lucan is willing to go toward if pressed) is bad.

So ultimately we might be forced to kill Lucan if he has set no outcome as acceptable barring the complete capitulation of all the groups present.

Hmm if we need someone to watch Lucan we can put the drow twins on him. They are free now what with us annihilating the Deep Ones?

  • [X] Plan Gold and a Child's Faith
-[X] Send Dany to seek out Elder Septa Maer in the guise of a beggar girl, relatively unknowing of the Seven and scared by the swirling rumours following the raid on the Smith's Sept.
--[X] Apply full anti-True Seeing measures to Dany and ensure she has any social buffs she might need for this mission.
-[X] Seek out Most Devout Ollidor, but not to arrange a meeting. At least not yet.
--[X] Once Ollidor is located, surreptitiously determine what manner of magical paraphernalia he might possess, whether or not he is warded, and if possible, whether or not he has any magical talents of his own.
--[X] If Viserys determines that it is feasible, use Brain Spider to thoroughly explore Ollidor's mind, examining any memories he feels are relevant and searching for how best to manipulate the man or simply to gain his trust.
---[X] Depending on what we learn from the man will determine how we proceed, whether we attempt to arrange a meeting as Dywen, Viserys, or both.

I'm not too confident in their ability to blend in and remain unnoticed for any length of time. Hide, yes, and sneak around, but they are really unprepared to conduct long-term surveillance in Old Town right now. The Cultural Adaptation spell would let them cheat for a short period of time, but that's not enough.

They are still very much strangers in a strange land.

We'll probably have one or more assassination targets for them soon, though.

@Crake, I think the plan goes as meeting each sect representative and get their measure. Then when the Conclave comes, get them to thoroughly disagree with each other's views so that Bloodraven's fractured Seven plan come to pass.

And kill Lucan too.

Goodnight guys, see you tomorrow with the new mechanics for church intrigue and the remaining players in the game
Don't worry man. This is an amazing quest, you'll have more players very very soon by virtue of both the sheer size of the quest and how well done it is.

So don't worry and let us know if there is anything we can do to help out.

I think this time DP was talking about the other factions in Old Town, rather than quest participants.

I'm sure the sentiment is appreciated, though.

Can't sleep. Doing my term paper, but also some changes to MA concerning Abishai and captured mages.
[X] Question the servants of Tiamat captured in Oldtown.
-[X] Utilise the full array of avaliable effects - Dominate, Brain Spider, etc. Learn everything Lormar and his apprentice know of magic, Tiamat's forces, various places of power and treasures, what they know of any intrigues, their knowledge on magical (and political) powers other than Tiamat, waht they know of situation in Yi Ti, True Names of Outsiders, etc.
--[X] Have Lormar transcribe his full knowledge of magic under effects of Dominate, not unlike that Tyroshi cultist, whose knowledge now helps Inquisition to root out Daemonic cults.
---[X] Once Lormar is drained of all knowledge avaliable, have him bottled again. He is too much of a danger to offer same clemency that is offered to regular cultists, and letting Bitch Queen get his soul would be too dangerous.
--[X] Question Abishai on all True Names it knows, all it's knowledge of magic, everything about forces and intrigues of Tiamat, on political/magical situation in Yi Ti, what it knows of other magical (and political) powers on Planetos and outside it, etc.
---[X] Learn in great detail how exactly was the faith of Seven subverted by it, what methods it used, what ideas it implanted, and ideally have another guide-book for Inquisition compiled based on these notes, helping in finding and rooting out anyone using the same methods, or at least allowing to spot centres of such subversion when acting in regions outside the Empire.
--[X] Once Abishai is throughly questioned, have it bottled again.
All in agreement?
Good.

Could some of you guys also tone down on Lucan-murder-boner?
I really don't think this conclave is the place to off him.
Ideally, we should get his other angel and talk it into some schism as well, but I feel like Lucan is a great tool for us for now, whatever hidden agenda of his DP was planning out so carefully.
...also, while he's the only one screaming about "VISERYYYYYYS IS HEEEEEEREEE!!!!" he's seen as just a crazy... err, crazier guy by most.

...Having written that, I feel like I'm going to be in the front rows screaming for killing him once he actually appears.
My cold logic doesn't last long when faced face-to-face with someone annoying and killable

We could kill him, sure, or we can capture him and feed him to the OG. He ends up dead either way, but the OG would be quite happy indeed to have him.

The trick would be to make us taking him out seem like we were saving people, perhaps even the rest of the Conclave, from a crazy Chosen bent on enforcing the will of the Father.

We'll have to see what can be arranged.

So long as he's dead at the end of it I'm happy.

I refuse to let this fucker become another cheesemonger.

Oh I know it's been literally Years both IC and OOC but no, I haven't forgotten about him.

I don't care if the stars grow cold, I will have his head.

While I'm all for winging it, a general plan of action would be nice. Basic suggestion would be
  1. talking to each person and seeing what they're about,
  2. picking the people that should be neutral/allied with them and
  3. passing them rumours about their associates goals.

Maybe the rumours are real maybe they're fake, but they should give a convincingly evil reason for the person to be pushing their agenda at the conclave, while also remaining vague/uncertain/outrageous enough that people won't openly accuse them of it.

This should ensure that conclave members refuse to come to a compromise and also refuse to talk about why they won't compromise, preventing any smooth talkers from successfully fixing the situation. I'd say if we can get fine control over it, we should ensure that people hate (in order of most to least hated)
  1. Lucan
  2. The Tyrell representative
  3. The lannister representative.
Everyone else falls below that I feel, though I'm happy to hear arguments to the contrary.

Man the Lanternbearers have had it pretty rough. Tobyn have had to kill his wife at the very least if not others close to him. And now he (and others like him) finds out that they might have been able to be saved.

Well. Once Westeros is taken over the Lanternbearers will no longer have to carry on their task without the right tools.
