Maybe they would like to help Vee get some experience installing subdermal mean armor?
... Brilliant. Getting test subjects for this would be amazing.

They get cutting edge armor, and we get experience for Vee. :D

There's a magical item out there that's essentially Mage Armour in an underskin garment form. Can't remember the name, but I think it was Pathfinder sourced.
Wait, there's another thing aside from what Varys had?

Also, @DragonParadox, so for some reason there have been cyclical full-on raids from the Deep Ones?

Have they managed to kill any Mind Flayers or Aboleths? Do they have the corpses?

Here the foes are mightier and more cunning by far, fish-like monstrosities that sing songs of impossible beauty to twist the minds of their prey even as their foul slime defiles their bodies, the eaters of minds armed with strange magics no mortal mage can match. By far the most perilous of such raids had been when they had brought with them broken mewling things of utter madness and despair that infect other living things with the same corruption.

Hello Aboleth, Mindflayer and chaos beast. It is so very nice to loot-I mean- meet you.

Ok, guys. I think you need to take into account the people you want to do this to and that we are in fact not in a cyberpunk setting. Magical items that give them a protective layer beneath their clothes? Fine and dandy. Implanting armour into their skin, especially after they've fought fleshwarpers? Likely to be less so.

Also there's this if we really want to give them something non-magical to be worn under normal clothing. I'm sure our Drow could help us with them.

It's a good thing we made sure to harvest the silk glands from our Fiendish Monstrous Spiders before we used them for Valyrian Steel. We can have Fungal Pods for spider silk up and running soon enough.

On the other hand, they might embrace a non-magical form of hidden armor which cannot be taken from them, and which can be used with traditional armor for even greater protection.

You're really reaching here, mate. Viserys and Vee were pretty disgusted by what Varys had done to himself. Body modification horror is not a stigma you are going to be overcoming any time soon.

I would not say Vee was disgusted, it takes a lot to do that and Viserys was more impressed by that part of Varys had done, that said neither of them are a typical case of... anything really
Can we get volunteers from our Legion who would like the extra protection to serve as test subjects?

Also @DragonParadox, has Oldtown managed to kill any Aboleths or Mind Flayers yet? Do they have any corpses we can poke at?

@TalonofAnathrax, specially for you, adding to next month's Minor Actions.
[] As time trudges on, and your Empire grows steadily... So does the stream of those wanting to learn, to grow in power, rank and stature... And all of that Scholarum promises to those people. Yet, even Sorserer's Deep's Scholarum may face trouble in the coming months, even with all the teachers it has, many Aspirants do not awaken to magic. If not rectified in one way or another, this does not bode well for the future.
-[] Throughout the years since magic's awakening, you have seen great many way in which one's eyes could be opened to it... Some you even shown the truths yourself. Still, one ritual you remember in particular. Alysande's awakening came at a great danger... Yet, could that ritual not be refined? Is the way Lannisters awaken sorcerers by nearing them a planar rift not be made working in a more broad way?

--[] Visit Armun Khellisk and Opaline Vault's wizarding establishments.
---[] Attempt to find if there's any ritual existing that allows to awaken one to magic. It doen't have to be an empowerment of any great kind - but merely imparting some wisdom of the truths aroudn them, like Alysande achieved.
----[] If such method or a ritual indeed exists, it can be put to use in Scholarum as a "last resort"-measure, to awaken those aspirants taking space and attention of limited teachers for more than half a year without awakening to magic.

---[] Attempt to settle an arrangement for sufficiently knowledgeable individuals to be hired from those establishments to serve as teachers and tutors in the coming months, although that may not happen right now, in year's time you expect the war against Efreeti to be over.
--[] If no ritual exists, nor hiring specialists is possible/sensible, dedicate some of your time usually spent on summoning Mammon's devils to summoning Phoenixes instead - have them play the same role Velen once played for you, and the same role their brethren play for orphanages and schools across your Empire - be tutors, but in magic this time.
