Our animal products can also now all be cruelty free!

We can just grow beef, pork, chicken, and fish now!

Which means we never have to worry about those markets collapsing, or growing out of control!

... we can just make everybody vegan now, without any kind of debate whatsoever.

We just beat the modern world, hands down.

@Goldfish, so 10,000 broadsheets cost us a whooping 500 IM.

And I see no reason not to run them through the hardening chamber. It gives the parchment hardness 7, meaning you need an axe to hew it apart like a log.

That image is so funny I think it is going to show up in an interlude down the line, someone in Westeros trying to hew apart leaflets like logs to get rid of them... all the while wondering if maybe... just maybe he is on the wrong side.

I've had the image in mind of Tywin trying to tear it apart in a rage when he gets the one depicting him and failing miserably at it.

Each printing press can apply 250 words per minute. Between five of them, that works out to 1800 1000-word broadsheets per 24 hours, complete with high quality images.

We could have 10,000 of them printed in less than six days.

And after next month, when the number of printing presses quadruples, then we're really going to be in business.

With Hardness 7, the parchment should be all but impossible to burn in a regular fire, too. Sure, forge fires and other really hot fires should be able to inflict enough damage to overcome the Hardness, but it won't be as easy as just tossing them into a pile to burn like kindling.

Does anyone else imagine westerosi knights using the sheets to make themselves armor?

This is clearly the most important decision ever to be made in this thread. For the impossibly hard sheets of not paper people.

The thought of a smithy being appropriated (to the frustration of those on the Street of Steel or even in Lannisport) to shovel in piles of broadsheets continuously fills me with amusement, even as yet more rain down from the sky.

Is there any way to give people more incentive not to turn all the not!papers in? Obviously most people won't but I don't see any reason not to make it even more difficult

It's still worse than steel, though a particularly inventive free rider or sellsword might try it.
It would work well as padding material though, especially for the joints, as it's a lot more durable then leather.

Knight: "Ha! The Dragon clearly didn't think this through! I will use these vile leaflets of his to strengthen my armor for when the time comes to fight him!"
Squire:

And that's why you don't use INT as a dump-stat.

And this is how we created mascots on planetos.

That should be pretty easy.

We make each one beautiful. The images will be the highest quality most people will have ever seen reproduced, with a level of accuracy impossible for most artists to achieve and with colors that can't be reproduced except through magic or Alchemy.

We could also use the reverse side of the broadsheet to reproduce a image. Perhaps we should do a Wonders of the World series, with monuments and constructions famed throughout Planetos, or show images of animals most people have only heard of, yet never seen.

We could also use them to provide useful information, such as the basics for dealing with nuisance Fey, how to recognize magical enchantment, weaknesses of various sorts of Undead, etc.

I was thinking about using most of the front page for the main caricature, with explanatory text on the side. The backside would then be used for the actual newspaper.

-[X] If the Raktavarna in our service is willing, ask Yss to transform him into a useful guide through the Shadowlands, imbued with the knowledge Tor and Varys have over the lands and their hideouts in particular, together with a reasonable amount of power and mobility.

Thread: toys around with doing insulting broadsheets for irl months, slowly moving forward with it without the idea spending much time center stage on the threads discussion. Everyone waiting for paper to make it nice and economical.
DP: Shows us one (1) broadsheet produced by another faction.
Thread: ... Hold my tankard.

Now we have high quality parchment broadsheets with imagery so beautiful it might cause spontaneous weeping filled with actual news and useful info. Side note, so hard you can't even cut them (much less burn them) without ridiculous measures.
All going out asap.
This place rocks.
