Actually, she is Inquisitor in training. Interrogator is the rank of what amounts to a detective of the local branches of the Inquisition, while she is in the territorially unrestricted branch.

Though I'm thinking about sending her and Mya to deal with the Daemon cultists who got away and if they manage that without needing a Resurrection, we can promote them to full Inquisitors.

Mia and Mya team-up?

MiaMya.

I think we are still missing Mya the Junior Inquisitor on the front-page.
We don't have a sheet for her yet, but I've kept on gearing her up and making sure she has a nice spell repertoire and scroll collection.

This month she got a pair of Bracers of Arcane Freedom added to her inventory.

One day, she will be on the front page!

Interlude CCCLI: Seeking Talent
Seeking Talent

Twenty-Eighth Day of the Seventh Month 293 AC

"I afraid you can't possibly teach courses in the King's Siegeworks, though you might learn something from attending them," the sharp words of the incarnate of fire hung in midair for a long moment before being followed by a stiff 'good day' and the thunk of a door closing with more noise than was strictly necessary.

For a long moment silence filled the small offices of Elbert and Dos, well respected if somewhat obscure solicitors in the great city of Braavos. Finally the man sitting in the corner worked up the courage to speak: "You catch more flies with honey..."

"Well I don't want to catch flies now do I?" Beryl's snapped, eyes momentarily flaring with annoyance in a rather more literal manner than most could claim for she was flame as much as flesh. Seeing the man cringe away from her she willfully pulled herself back. It was hardly his fault that all the hopeful engineers who showed over the last fortnight were rather more of the former and less of the latter.

"My pardons, my lady," the solicitor continued, twisting the collar of his doublet with sweaty fingers. "But I do have a point beyond hollow truism."

"Start with that then," the flame-kin replied, careful to moderate her tone.

"While I believe your guess earlier today that Braavos has run dry of engineers both skilled enough to be worth the title and adventurous enough to head south I suspect the sharp words you have for the incompetent cut far more than them. If they should then spread unfounded rumors about the opportunities in Sorcerer's Deep and, pardon again, your own character than those candidates of a more timid disposition would never even approach our door."

"Fair," Beryl sighed. "I shall be sure to temper my impulse to be curt with fools in Myr next month..."

Construct Specialist Training Center (Stepstones) Progress 4/20

"It's true then, Myr has surrendered to the Dragon King without a fight?" the solicitor asked, his desire for gossip outweighing his timid nature.

Seeing no reason to hide the truth and wishing to part ways under amenable circumstances the young woman unfolded a message she had transcribed from the Astral Currents headquarters in Braavos, available to anyone associated with the King, the Sealord, or the Iron Bank, but which had obviously not filtered down much yet. The fact that some of the Myrish soldiers were marked down as 'specialists' made her hopeful that she would be able to simply recruit the best among them to teach.

Myr:
17,000 Levies
6,000 Men-at-arms
500 Specialists
8 Large Galleys
10 Medium Galleys
6 Small Galleys

Lys:
7,000 Levies
5,000 Men-at-arms
4 Large Galleys
2 Large Galleons
7 Medium Galleys
1 Medium Galleons
11 Small Galleys

"A prodigious gathering," Elbert was obviously filled with questions but uncertain if they would be welcomed. Seeing her nod he dared to ask: "Does the Dragon King plan to recruit more for his legions? They sound remarkably expensive for such a new realm, from what I have heard and seen at least."

For a moment Beryl wondered where he would have seen legionaries, before remembering that a handful helped out at the tree shrine of the Old Gods, not so much as protectors but aids. Military men had been judged more dependable on the post than a simple commercial contract. "You speak of the Deep as a young city and in that you are not wrong, but that is not the aspect onto which you should turn your eye," she replied at length. "Say rather that it is growing. Only this past moonturn the the city and its hinterlands have grown by almost a quarter through folk brought over from the Disputed Lands, now disputed no more. Such is the growing wealth upon which the legion is based."

21 Population moved to the Stepstones from the Western Disputed Lands (Action Complete)

By the end of the conversation Beryl suspected Elbert might just be tempted to move south himself. She suppose they will be needing lawyers as well as engineers, she told herself still frustrated by the low progress, but vowing to improve next month.

OOC: Well you were going to get below average rolls somewhere. This was one of the least time sensitive places.

Also include levels, if you can.

Sure

On the dragon inheritance point, there is no such thing as a part-metallic. Dragon inheritance is more arcane than that. When two dragons of differing breeds come together their child is as much born of Tiamat the Many Hued and Bahamut the Platinum Dragon as they are of their own parents.

Thus the hatchling's inheritance will be split roughly so:
  1. 25% that it will be of the mother's kindred
  2. 25% that it will be of the father's kindred
  3. 50% that it will be any sort of dragon among all of those that have ever been.

According to my math, Viserys maximum carrying capacity should be around 630 metric tons, though I'm fairly certain that something must be wrong there. @TotallyNotEvil, could you check that?

Oh Dragon genetics, never change.

Does the same, or similarly weird things, go for unions between other kinds of dragons?
Like Red and Blue, or Brine and some other?

Problem is the resulting half-Metallic wyrmling would basically be guaranteed to die horribly while surrounded by Chromatics.

Not guaranteed, likely, but the chance remains.

It would be interesting to find we are a throw back to a mixbreed dragon.

Edit: or not...

So a Red and a Gold could come together and a Prismatic dragon might be born? Is this RWBY genetics?

It's about 2.46 million pounds if we Blood Wish Righteous Might and Bite of the Weretiger and cast Ant Haul while wearing our Muleback Cords, curiously enough on our HHD form as the bonuses round of to the next bracket, i.e. 60 effective strenght (36 + 4 + 12 + 8) and Gargantuan. As TD, it's down to 2.12 million pounds.

If we do a more freeform wish in the form of "count as quadrupled for carrying capacity", it goes to 3.686 million pounds in HHD form.
@Azel, some old numbers, but still.

You know what, let's keep it simple for now. This place won't suddenly disappear and we don't really need to store over 5,000 tons of mercury at home when the Moonchaser is still a while away.

[X] Planeshift back to SD to pick up the fused basalt containers you prepared for this, each one large enough to contain 1m³ of mercury. Dip them in the lake as Huge Half-Dragon to fill them up and put the lid on. Once all 40 vessels are filled, for a total of 540 metric tons of mercury, seal them up with Stone Shape, shed the outer layer to remove clinging mercury and Planeshift them all back to a wide open field away from SD. Use cleansing spells to make sure that the outsides of the containers are safe to handle. Then store them all in a prepared cavern a bit away from the city.

That's enough for 21 fighters with a bit left over.

Well considering that fact that SD gets most of its food by sea and that it is by far the greatest attraction in the region for a lot of reasons I would say about half of them live in SD so 53,000.

How does Viserys feel knowing his city has now just grown incrementally larger than either Gulltown or White Harbor, two of only five cities in Westeros? :V
