Maybe. I kind of just want some of the more interesting classes for our legion outside of the basic "Armored Legion" type deal. Having a portion who are monks would be incredible even if we were to have them solely be of one type of monk.

Hell, shadow monks alone would make for incredible infiltrators, assassins, and spies with their abilities. The fact that they appear completely unarmed boosts that even further and add on a ribbon of disguise and we have a group who look (mostly) harmless, have some insane stealth skills, and at higher levels can go for long periods of time without supplies meaning we wont have to give them any....

Imagine an assassin who is near impossible to spot, sitting in one place for weeks waiting for their chance to strike them down...

Not to mention a shadow monk would themeatically fit what with the Shadow Tower and all.

I agree with this strongly. The Inquisition could use more combat based warriors. Although once we have Yi-ti we can start churning these out. Otherwise there isn't much we can do. We do need more melee based fighters. The only problem is that they get bodied hard by mages. Like you need tome of battle stuff for it to even work. We used to have Wheel of Time help push the endeavour.

@Goldfish I have a question regarding the Enlarge Spell metamagic. When I was looking at the long-range extension of 800 ft + 80 ft /level, does that describe the radius of a spell if its a circular range or its diameter?

No, that's only the actual range of the spell. Look at Fireball as an example. The radius of the blast is shown in the Area, which is a 20-foot radius for a Fireball. To increase the area of the spell, you use the Widen Metamagic instead.

Other spells don't necessarily specify the exact area of the spell, such as Lightning Bolt. In this case, it's because the Lightning Bolt is a Line-type spell with a static range. A Line-type spell is always 5 feet wide unless otherwise specified. Enlarging it would make the line 240 feet long, while Widening it would make the Line 10 feet wide.

@DragonParadox

This is a question for when you wake up but I was curious. It is about the First Men/ Old Gods lore Bloodraven copied for us. Was it just the Runelore or is there more that Lya has yet to see? I had assumed (maybe wrongly) that there would be some new classes unique to the Old Gods/First Men or something? Like Waymar's class?

Druid and Ranger were the main ones.

Duskblade seems to fill the "martial hero relying on guile and spells" niche.

For everything else, there's Barbarian.

I think there were some "special" classes, but the problem is for every one of those the Others get to make a move of their own.

The Minotaur Oracle of the Old Gods was one such example.

Yeah probably being too hopeful. I just like melee classes more I guess. I get the Legion will train some but the Legion is so standardized that some of the more esoteric and unique melee skills might not get much show. Doesn't help that the one monk in the interludes vanished somehow. At this point the only places to find martial classes is Yi-ti ad that isn't for years literally.

...Fucking Others. This has intensified my hate boner to 11. Yi-ti it is then because I sincerely doubt Valyria had melee classes. High magic empire and all that.

Well there's Spirit Shaman. Has two casting stats, but is a spontaneous Caster who can change their spells known every day. Also. I wonder if the Others have somehow managed to get better at choosing representatives.

Wait. When did the Oracle Minotaur happen? Was Rina their response to that? Or maybe the devotion and blood the Minotaur gave was enough to count as an alternate power source.

And thanks for the rumors!

*monks, martial classes and Yi-Ti mentioned in a single sentence*

*ancient evil awakens and starts crawling towards the current discussion once again, leaving naught but "like" ratings in its wake*

Anyone else suddenly desiring to have a fairy Barbarian? Or maybe a swarm of them?

I had the sudden image of a swarm of tiny flying fey holding (proportionately) huge swords screaming in wrath with high pitched voices that sound utterly adorable to those listening as they rush towards their enemy... and utterly shred them.

I find the idea of a tiny fey barbarian hoard hilarious.

Did we promise them pizza?
