This thread is so update dense that even if they were numbered with the Hindu–Arabic numeral system, it would still be hell-on-wheels to navigate.

We've no way to check, but I disagree. I'm reading this in metro sometimes and with arab numbers, I can at least quickly remember where I was. Or I can look at the number and think "... I don't remember reading a chapter with a number this big". With Roman's I'm looking at something like "LVCXXII" and I've zero idea about how bit this number is.

So I was looking through the Heroes of Battle sourcebook to see if there is anything similar to the Standards that we're making out of Valyrian Steel. For instance there is something called Heraldic Crests which we can place on shield that gives bonuses based on what image we use. Another interesting thing I found was Commanders Aura which is based off of however many men you command, which helps Commanders rally men with morale checks. I found the book quite interesting so here's the link to the pdf if you guys want to check it out.

EDIT: They even have a Standards Page! :lol

EDIT 2: And they're all 30 feet range..... why

Just copy over the information threadmarks and such. It seems rather simple.

More information of relevance is regularly included in regular discussion from pages and pages ago.

Also you would have a lot more people who just started reading from that thread and nothing previous with no context for many plans, which would feel somewhat exclusionary, more so than it already is.

I think at some point the minimum standard (one I conceded was probably necessary, and I'm the one who complained the most about how noninclusive and stifling things could get) would be a new reader had to have read every update and the informational posts, if not the discussion in between updates. And if they intended to make many waves and not just lurk after catching up, they would have to have read at least some portion of the discussion, and probably attempt to do some independent searching.

Knowledge of D&D is obviously useful.

Recently the system change for turn votes has been made somewhat more inclusive. Engaging in discussion for "we should make this kind of item" or "we should get these kind of minions" is even more practical with at least some willingness to read through the SRD.

Most of those people are kind of stupid if they think they can jump halfway into a story and understand it without context.

The smart readers go back and find the first thread and read from there.

Speaking of which how exactly do you do that?
We use the search bar to cheat. Just limit the search to this thread only, limit the search to the posters you're looking for, and keep a key word in mind for the specific post you want.

For example, I literally just typed Oathkeeper and specified that it was a post by DP in this thread. That brought up eight pages of results. I went to the last page, and it was the third or fourth result from the bottom.

Wow.... that is just unfair.... I honestly expected you guys to have to look through each and every entry like i had to when my computer shut itself off.

Ah I had no idea you could use the search bar that way.

Fine then. What chapter BY NUMBER AND TITLE was Oathkeeper created?

Lets see just how well you can navigate...
In the future, something like this could be found by using the in-thread search function. Use Oathkeeper as a keyword and only search posts by DragonParadox. You can then look back at the earliest uses of the word by DP.

That's how I find most things I look for in the thread.

I used to look for things the hard way before @Tomcost taught me how to use the search function.

Yeah, it's makes finding things a heck of a lot easier. The trick is remembering key words and who posted what.
Can one access search engine on mobile?
Yep. It might be a bit awkward, but no harder than anything else on mobile.
