@DragonParadox, for the blood factory of fiendish blood we're planning on making in the future, you ruled that they couldn't be used to produce Valyrian Steel... but could they be used to amplify other sacrifices?

Say we get ourselves a nice fat Cornugon. Could the Cornugon's HD be enhanced by Archduke blood and be calculated accordingly for Valyrian Steel creation?
That does make sense but there are also Sorcerer's Deep minor actions, the the demon summoning or asking people to write books. In any case I think we should stick t the list for this turn and consider if the system needs changing next turn.
Yeah, that's why it's in my interest to see the minor actions drastically cut short compared to what they used to be.

That I find myself in disagreement with
*dodges angry moonkin*

@DragonParadox, why, exactly, such a thing as Mammon's corpse, when put on a life-sustaining system of a fungal pod, would not be enough to forge Valyrian steel by itself?
I find it hard to think up more potent source for it than that.

Maybe not "hundreds tons" of it, but some VS made in a continous stream should certainly be something within a power of a CR-21 Archduke's corpse, no?

Because the act of sacrifice is important to the creation of Valyrian steel. Therefore you can never make it automatic since something has to be properly destroyed in the process

Because an explicit part of our contract with him was that he sever all connection to the corpse. Valyrian Steel is created by making the sacrificed fiend lesser, by feeding on their essence. With the corpse it has no connection to Mammon anymore, so there's no way to feed off his essence.

We're getting a fantastic deal by DP letting us amplify other sacrifices.

@DragonParadox
1. Did the Drow Mage skull know the following:
  • What the spider demon's name is
  • The names of any notable demons as well as their types
2. Did the Maharaja Rakshasa know any interesting fiend names? It doesn't have to just be Rakshasas.
3. Can we try to summon the Maharaja Rakshasa again in the future? How long do we have to wait for him to reincarnate?

a being from beyond all realms of sanity who was ironically one of the sanest people she knew.
Considering the other people she knows, that's not saying much.
"They do not have any magic other than an affinity to fire once removed," Velen reminded her, though he did not dismiss her words as Rina still feared could happen at any moment and for any reason.

Baella opened one enormous luminous eye and looked at her, perhaps through her. "You shouldn't worry so much, dear. We all have something worthwhile to say."
See, and this is why I wanted Rina on this task. Baella, Velen and Xor are pretty much the nicest people around.
Fire Whale Gem Harvesting Progress: 16/18 (monthly total)
To be honest, just knowing that it will be done next month is taking a lot of the sting out of knowing that this didn't conclude yet.

1.1 No
1.2 Yes, I'll have to roll what kind
2. Yes, quite a few
3. Yes however you need gate for it

1.1. Damn. We're going to really need to hunt around for that thing's name. It really isn't making this simple.
1.2. Would you mind giving us a rough CR so I know how excited I should be?
2. Jackpot. :D
3. Would the Maharaja Rakshasa be forced to go through the Gate or could it just refuse to go through? Also, do we have a rough time frame of how long we'll be forced to wait?

  1. The upper CR limit on said fiends is 12 or so
  2. It could refuse, you would have to trick it somehow
  3. You should probably ask the corpse IC. That is part of some stuff that should really be handled on screen

Will he be reborn as a Maharaja again?

I thought that was more luck or fate among the Rakshasa?

There should be a decent chance of him being reborn as something lesser.
I don't think it's by chance, really, mainly due to this line:
A maharaja rakshasa emerges only after a rakshasa of great power and influence has spent several lives as a member of the samrata, the height of the rakshasa's social-spiritual caste system.
Rakshasa's have quite a bit of control over reincarnation, and over each lifetime they learn and grow. When a Rakshasa ascends to become a Maharaja, that kind of innate insight shouldn't disappear after a single death, especially for a creature that would have mastery over its own rebirth.

Why are we wasting an opportunity by asking for a free market resource (enchanters who work for coin/sceptres) instead of a restricted resource (lore that needs permission from the Sultana)?

Very confused.

He has not yet ascended to that super-radja version though.

He has no great personal power over the cycles of fate and nature yet, so Chance can take it all away from him, depending how the dice fall.

Damn. They can't all be champions, but CR 12 still makes for some great sacrifices. There are plenty of nice and fat fiends in that range. *looks at Mallors*

Can we get the rough CR for each of the types of fiends the Maharaja Rakshasa had names for? Devils, demons, daemons, rakshasas, etc.

@DragonParadox, you know how you said earlier that we needed super rare reagents that would only be in the Sultana's vaults to make @Azel's Harbinger? Is that ruling still in place? Now that we're allies with the Shaitan, is that something we could reasonably approach them for on the side and expect to have it done with little issue, or would it be a special request that requires delicate negotiations?

Because our previous efforts to recruit enchanters were met with very, very lackluster results. It turns out that hiring competent people with specialized skills requires either a lot of effort or the right connections. We are now using the second.

The net result? Tons of minor items and a significant speed-up for the Moonchaser project.
