A Reforged World (NO SV, You are King of Italy, in a Greatly Changed World)

Book 4 Chapter 3 Something Else
Book 4 Chapter 3 Something Else
In which our Hero, is now a father.

You were honestly lost in what to do, as the meeting with First Minister Octavian was… well beginning and you were finding yourself lost and unfocused.

"Your Grace, I understand the need for wanting to be with your child, but can you at least pretend to be paying attention to this meeting." The First Minister said as he quickly moved papers through his place. "Or is such a thing difficult for you?"

"I think it is." you replied honestly. "Though honestly, I would rather be there, rather then here, but I know my duty requires me to be there for this. And I will not shriek my duty when my country needs me."

Octavian nodded. "I just need you to approve these final mesures." You didn't even look at the papers, before putting your signature on it. "Sir, I would recommend you read them-"

"I trust you." You stated. "To not require me for the time being."

The First Minister nodded. "Very well."

You then left to your home.

"shirk"

Didn't expect him to do that for what?

Also, how many Personal Actions do we have? The update doesn't say... unless that "You have 3 actions" means we have three Actions total, in which case it should come before "Governmental Action".

Sorry, 3 gov

4 personal.
At least the action numbers isn't as bad a crunch as I thought. 😅

Still too few gov actions for everything import given the pope, the french, Octavian, Dynastic Politics, and the Squabbling HRE being major things.

We really need to prioritize given the war on the horizon.(More accurately, at the gates given the French diplomat almost certainly is coming for demands.)

The possibilities of a wagonless transportation device is what interests you. You spend time producing a Horseless Steampowered Form of transportation that can carry materials and people to different places..of course with its tracks.

I trust Isabella to not be wasting our time with these politics.
The french are an issue we should deal with now, and we can't ignore the HRE emperors death.
Might as well spend time with the wife and kid
Otherwise we need trains, and we need to meet the nobles and make sure none of them are considering betraying us.

Considering that Italy is still Catholic and our main enemy at the moment is Protestant France, I really think we should make sure the Pope doesn't do anything stupid.

The HRE are likely to be a key ally in the coming war, and as such we should do what we can to mitigate this succession crisis quickly.

I trust Isabella's judgement on what can and cannot wait.

I would like to spend time with our family.

See Randino Treviani's points regarding the nobility and trains.

And finally, screw the French and their ambassador!

Isabella is likely approaching us to deal with the issue of Niccolo's betrothal or some business with the Hapsburgs so it's important. Deal with France's bullshit and find out if we are in a full scale war or not. Maximillian is dead, so let's pop in to see if Charles is gonna be Emperor like OTL or if they're gonna go another crazy route.

Be there for our son's development. Have some nice moments with Isabella. Train in our command stat for the upcoming war. And help simplify the manufacturing process and make it more effecient so we can pop out more guns against France.

Considering that Italy is still Catholic and our main enemy at the moment is Protestant France, I really think we should make sure the Pope doesn't do anything stupid
I think it's too late for that and that the french are a bigger threat. Better to stall the french now with a letter to buy time for border fortification to finish and meet the pope later.
@Magoose, what are the chances of Luciano becoming the Emperor of the HRE?
Low thank Magoose dice.
1%.

the only reason they even consider us is 2 fold.

One were the most powerful fleet in the entire world.

2 Charles.
Yeah, Charles isn't going to let us just be ignored as a candidate when there are probably a few Protestant Princes trying to push one of their numbers claim.

Henry VIII: "Mary, my wonderful daughter, for you just gave me a great idea!"

A World where Henry realises he can tie Italy to England with his firstborn child.

You jest but I unironically want for Mary to become Niccolo's wife. Mainly out of the same satisfaction as Isabella in giving her a liberated life and becoming part of an actual loving family. Where Mary can avoid her father's nonsense and alienation and thrive as an actual Queen. We're so early into her life that we can completely erase the bad traits of her later life and she was noted at this point to be a rather sweet and intelligent child. Plus there's always the benefits of a strong alliance with England and it would help make up for our marriage to the Hapsburgs.

Also since Catherine of Aragon is Isabella's Aunt, since could foster Mary in the Italian court as one of Isabella's ladies before the marriage takes place, get some time for her and Niccolo to know each other.

England:D100 => 96+D100 => 49=145
Scotland:D100 => 1

The English Crown Sensed Weakness in their Northern Neighbor. Henry VIII pressed his rightful claim on the Scottish throne for that of his kinsmen.

But instead was crowned himself.

The Nobles want new blood and a powerful monarch that would serve their interests. Or rather, ignore them while he fights on the continent.

It is a blatant Lie, but there is nothing that they can do. The Scottish crown is weak, and the Clansmen welcome the new ruler with open arms, despite their fear of potential retaliation, there was none.

This new King was something that could be… interesting.

Reward: Welcome to the Scottish Throne, Henry.

Try not to lose it.

Magoose, I was going through the World Rumor mills and I noticed that for 1513 on the last quest that England had scored a nat crit and gotten a 145. Considering this takes place in 1513, would such a crit mean that Henry's first son Prince Henry have lived beyond his first month or his second son who was stillborn and born in 1513 would be a healthy and thriving baby?

Luciano's Journey: Randino's Nightmare

Reaches Nat 1:

"We've got kicked out from the Main Habsburgs Line."

We aren't Habsburgs. We married a daughter. And it would be bad for them if they tried to disinherit her after she had married. Like, destroy their reputation utterly bad. This is most likely having to do with the fact Luciano hasn't bothered putting the dynastic house in order.

Considering this takes place in 1513, would such a crit mean that Henry's first son Prince Henry have lived beyond his first month or his second son who was stillborn and born in 1513 would be a healthy and thriving baby?

There is a male desendent of Henry the 8th.

Problem is... will he survive to adulthood.

Be there for our son's development. Have some nice moments with Isabella. Train in our command stat for the upcoming war. And help simplify the manufacturing process and make it more effecient so we can pop out more guns against France.
Our manufacturing is fine. There are 3 companies supplying arms to the military already. Our supply line on the other hand are archaic. Inventing trains to ease logistics and the ability to call reinforcements to the border is worth a lot more than excessive Guns production to supply soldiers we don't have.

Inventing trains to ease logistics and the ability to call reinforcements

Knowing how Magoose doesn't want us to blitz into the next dimension..

We can actually start creating the Northern train Rails in the North after the Defenses are constructed (or even yet, only singular train lines something like Roma to Naples line, then repeat to other cities.)

Sure, once we invent trains we can do that.

I think the more important thing here is henry's whole divorce and Marry again thing was about Catherine's not providing him with a living male heir, so this kind of averts all that nonsense.
