The Metz Conference:
You were here, alone, with your diplomats, when you saw the False Emperor… now called the Last Emperor… as he walked through the halls of the fortification that had barely stood… yet it was the place that the Pope Kings representatives chose.
Sorry, the Former Pope King, had died, as you learned, in a palace coup, his officers knowing the situation that they were in had no hope of victory once the Spanish and Italians got their act together, once the navies were controlled the seas, and once the Army of the Alps just walked around. There was no hope of a contrasting victory. In their eyes.
The Germans would have soon destroyed them, if they unified.
They may win on the battlefield, but they had the upper hand now and wanted peace.
So, leaving an infant and themselves as regents, the General of the Army of the Netherlands, Henri, Count of Provonce called this conference.
The head of the Pope King was on the walls. "All this, and my victory is taken away from me." The Emperor stated as his mouth twitched, looking at the head. "Stamped away, and destroyed by others!"
You moved quietly and towards the Emperor. "They called for this, for peace."
"For their peace." He said bitterly. "I have a broken land, a destroyed home, and a title that is meaningless to the eyes of Europe. They have shattered Frankfurt into a memory…" He looked towards you. "Destroy them… do not let them escape lightly, they will only just come back and destroy us again."
"We can't," you said somberly. "We didn't win, but we didn't lose. They are tired… why can't you accept that peace now… is an option."
"Because they are monsters, deserving of God's wrath! And only His wrath!" He screamed. "I have to live, with not doing enough to save my people. You don't."

A few days before the conference, Charles stood next to you, smoking some weed from the Americas, who were holding his trembling hands. "What do you plan to do?" You asked. "Going to give France anything?"
Charles took a drag from the weed and blew a smoke ring. "What can I demand, that I haven't already gained? Germany is fragmented, the Church is looking for a protector, and I have risen to an occasion. There is a crisis of people fleeing from Germany that can be used more productively."
"You're thinking about the new world at a time like this when Europe is in ruins?"
"Europe has always been a ruin, ever since Rome," Charles said. "Always battling, and destroying itself." He threw the weed away. "I care for Spain, but it's the new world that is the true prize. I care little for much else. That legacy will make me immortal."
"But what will you do?"
"If I had to choose? Nothing." He said. "France barely won its victory… to take it away will create peace… only for a year or a decade to pass, and do it all over again. If France can keep her spoils, then fine. If she can't, then it will prove me right."
"Right about what?" You asked. "Europe?"
"Indeed." He smiled. "It's a stinking, rotting corpse. Let France be the king of it."

You looked at the demands. "No indemnities? No changing of territory not conquered and he4ld by French troops? No Empire?" You asked your diplomat.
What the hell were they playing at. They were asking for only territory, and nothing else?
Even the Ottomans were trying desperately to stop Italy from taking anything from Greece.

Control over the Austrian Netherlands: The Netherlands, rightfully conquered by the French Army, and with the support of the Dutch People, will be part of France in perpituity.
No Indemnities: The french Regents will pay not a single piece of Silver and gold to any of the losers.

[]Disollve the Franco Ottoman Allience: You will demand that the French immediately dissolve the Allience they have with the Ottomans. (+20 to DC)
[]Disarmernment and dismantlement of the French Navy: France will be left without a navy. and cannot rebuild one. (+50 to DC)
[]Indemnities to the North Germans (The Relm of the Last Emperor): The French will pay indemnities to the Last Emperors Realm of ten million Florins over the course of 20 years, to pay for the pain and suffering they have caused. (+10 to DC)
[]Indemnities to the South Germans (Austria and Bavaria): The French will pay indemnities to the South German alliance of ten million Florins over the course of 20 years, to pay for the pain and suffering they have caused. (+15 to DC)
[]The Rebuilding of Frankfurt: France destroyed Frankfurt, and they will rebuild it brick by brick. (+25 to DC)
