A Reforged World (NO SV, You are King of Italy, in a Greatly Changed World)

Do note that Other people have complain to the church before Luther and they didn't get killed for it but when Luther nailed that note to the door the letter in public it cause a big scandal to the world

so they could, for example steal church valuables in their territory.

Which is what England did to be able to pay for their Navy and everything else..they were broke after Henry VIII's irl invasion, after all.

The Catholic Reform Initiative

A Letter from Cardinal Guilio to the Pope and The Chamber

Brothers and Sisters, the issues in relation with the great questions of the day related with the new changes sprung up by the Spanish's Conquests in the new world, in addition to the great uproars in the Catholic Domains in the North and Wests of Europe and the Italian Unification, has brought to me and my fellow colleagues a semblance of enlightenment.

Indeed I indicated a fortnight ago, that the resolve of the Catholics only will continue to spiral to the abyss if there are no changes to be occurred. Speaking with a fellow Cardinal, who is known in many Circles around Catholic strongholds in Italy as 'Cardinal Irohvanni Ottorus of Milan', only made this likely with evidences from his connections across France, the region of Germania (Germany), and other places of the state of affairs of their fellow communities.

Have I not said enough, that reform and a renaissance of our own must be done to preserve the rest of the Catholic World together?

A schism is on the rise, and if the Church does not band together as a community and confront the issues that plagues Christendom, Italy will be all what's left of the once great force of good.

"Brothers and Sisters." Cardinal Guilio looks at his assembled circle of close friends and colleagues. "Thank you for attending this moment in reflection to what must be done to preserve the Church of its existence, in addition to changes that must occur in order for a better world provided by our fellows.

"Walking amongst our communities outside the Noble and Church-controlled settlements have brought me a time of reflection, of realisation and enlightenment as I read through the struggles of Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God." He speaks calmly as he shares his findings. "Jesus has taught us many things, and keeping all the Gold with no benefit or even help to the people is not one of them." He shakes his head in disappointment. "While the church practises that same method of upholding wealth all for grandiose statues and buildings that focuses on impressing rather than helping.

"If we follow his teachings and his struggles, instead of renovating churches to expand the rooms in their distance from our priests – that are looking at the sun rather than fellow community members (Yes, Priests and the community before Pope Paul VI's Reforms looked at the East during Mass, so they're rappi-performing for Jesus rather than learn and come together as an actual community) – to the people that now and more than ever continues to be alienated by those that are meant to protect them as fellow believers of God.

"Remember that, fellow siblings. For the oppressed will only continue to be dug to the Abyss of the Purgatory, those so-called guardians in the physical and visual flesh only continued to abuse them and perversing God and Christ's messages to care for our fellow people..not just them, but our good neighbours as well.

"They never said to persecute those who do not believe in his message, but instead remain tolerant. The Old Testament reminds us of God's story alongside his creations since the First Day of the World, he interacts with us when the time comes for change..yet the Papacy remains inactive with their heads stuck in the dirt next to worms that abuses Our Lord's words and the people we swore to protect as fellow members of the community.

"Not anymore! No longer the Church continues to play second fiddle to those who want to destroy it and continue to find ways to pervert it for their own personal gain! No longer shall we play in acts of aggression against fellow and hidden members of our communities! No longer shall it remain ignorant and isolated from the rest of the world where our siblings suffer from those who sought to do intolerable acts!

"We Are not the Church of the Past, But we are The Present, and the Building Blocks of the Future!"

Cardinal Guilio de Medici (Pope Clement VII IRL), Cardinal Irohvianni Ottorus of Milan, and other's Declaration of New Catholic Church Policy:

–A Church Free towards Exploration: The Time of Change across Europe calls for a Time of Change in Policy. The Renaissance reminds us and many people of the words of the New and Old Testament. Rebirth of Church Policy and exploration of previous and new solution traditions are to be encouraged with open debates.

– Language of Commons and New Music Policy: Language performed by the Priests can be done through the common language of the region, for what is the use of speaking a language only used by a small amount compared to the many? Active participation and understanding can be reached as the attendees can finally understand without having to fill an unnecessary requirement to come together as a community. In addition, this would be extended to music lyrics as well.

– Freedom of Thought, Discussions, and Ideas: Active Discussions and Learning of The Bible, Philosophies, and Ideas are to be encouraged - for who can truly understand the impact of God and Christ in the people's lives if it is not shared, discussed, and truly explored to become enlightened and continue to learn along everyone else.

– A Church to free and help the Poor and the Oppressed: New Initiatives to help the people must be encouraged without sacrificing the people, unfairness that so-called priests are preaching of life are rectified to make Life Fair as siblings could help with other siblings. The Oppressed are to be freed and liberated from their suppressed state, they are to be helped to become better and live freely once again.

– Church Toleration Policy: Jesus has said to "Love your Neighbours as you Love Yourself", yet this message has been ignored by warmongerers that pretended to be fellow Brothers and Sisters and power hungry opportunists that only sought the treasures and lands of our nation. This behaviour henceforth is intolerable, for it is exploiting the people without anything beneficial in return..this does not mean to avoid this law by giving the people the Bare Minimum, but instead give them the same benefits and opportunities a person gets to have. Ideas and performance with the basis of Enslavement and Oppression being seen as positives are intolerable and the Church will not support Anti-Liberationist (Against removing Slavery) interpretations of Church Law and Policies.

Oh no. THere is... other things I can do.

And you don't want to find out what I will do in the name of keeping the balance.
Isn't the point of keeping the balance that we notice it's impact on the story and see Luciano pay for his mad inventor lad Shenanigans?
Well 30 years war might be far more… tense. If only because of one very important thing.

Martin Luther's… words have hit a chord. And lots of those people being the rich nobility that want church lands.

In France.

You can see where this is going.
To say that France was surprised about everything and the gift was something that angered them. Humiliation from the loss of prestige of losing in Italy…

The King grits his teeth and accepts, despite the many loud clamors of his ministers all but demanding to declare war for the honor of France and all the tresure that was lost.

Yet instead, the King just said thank you and left. It was a novelty… nothing more.
Well, I guess this problem has been kicked down the road by some unrest.

Hmm..

I think we need those Reforms and Snipers soon, Or begining the creation of Elite Rifled Alpine Units to slow the Northern Enemies while our forces arrives to quickly attack them..

Speaking of which, should we accelerate Industrial and Autonomous Serf-Town Plans earlier than expected?

I think we can prioritize reforms and elite rifled units, but the rest is something we'll need to evaluate after meeting Charles.

Go support Magooses rebirth for best completed quest.

Interlude: A Conference on the Atlantic
Interlude: A Conference on the Atlantic

It was almost impossible to really register the changes when you looked at the man who was now your peer in politics and Rank.

But it only just occurred to you that you were in great danger, and only had a pistol to protect yourself. Now it was one of your three-barreled designs.

Charles had changed since he had left for America. And it was not a change you found comforting, because behind his wild eyes and unkempt hair, was something you did not even know how to claim. He had changed. His face was covered in scars and wear and tear.

Much of his body seemed to be marred by conflict and harsh living. And you could see the scars of smallpox.

Yet his smile was something that didn't change, it was genuine, full of hope and delight as he saw you. "My dear Luciano." He had given you a great hug, something you did not expect. "I am surprised that you do not seem happy to see me?"

"I am not, unfortunately." You saw many of the Spanish ships ready, and flying the colors proudly, while you were on their ship, not a deck that you wished. "Even if you are my brother-in-law. I am here at your request, and not one I take so willingly."

"Quite so. We have much to discuss." He said as he clapped his hands, and a table was prepared. "Sit, sit."

You did, not taking your hand off your side as he continued to smile, before he pulled out a bag, and placed it on the table. "Open it." It was a demand, not a request.

You did, and paper was moved and he forcefully poured it down on the table. It was gold dust. A lot of it. "Beautiful, isn't it?" He asked.

"Certainly is." You replied. "But gold has never interested me, at least in the acquisition of it, not anymore."

He then laughed. "Quite. I have heard about the wondrous things you have created. Something to change the world…" He then stopped and he still had his wild smile on his face.

"Why is it you declare a crusade against the Slave Trade of the Muslims and Africa?" He asked, and it was true curiosity in his eyes for a flickering of a moment, like a fire on a candle in a light wind. However, instead of nothing, there was anger.

"Why have you disrupted the political and commercial order in such a way?" He asked. "There is nothing wrong about waging war for God and man, to rescue those taken… but why?"

"You may not know this horror Charles, but for almost a thousand years, Italy has always been under threat from slavers and pirates. We will not allow any to suffer from it's horrors ever again." You stated.

Charles laughed. "The world will always have those who are slaves and those who are free. It is only power that prevents one from being the others."

"Why should we not emulate Christ, in his word for others?" You asked. "Why should we not help thy neighbor?"

"Because that is not how the world works Luciano." Charles stated as his eye twitched. "This world does not belong to the weak, try as we can to help them. It belongs to those who have power, and we have power to shape the world."

"Then we should use it to right a wrong that all of Mankind has suffered from!"

Charles only seemed to grow angrier. "Have you been listening to a single word of what I have been saying?"

"I have, and I grow weary of it." You said.

"I have seen a world that is ripe for the taking, and it could belong to both our nations…" He said. "All I need is people. Simple as that."

What do you say?:

AN: As you can tell… Charles has been through some shit. His conquest of the Aztecs left a lot of scars.

However… he is offering you an incredible.

The entirety of North America.

All he wants is slaves to build his empire.

.............No.

If the world belongs to those who have power... Well, I have power, and I will do what I want with it. Which is opposing slavery, for that, I'm sure, is the will of God, and the right and just thing to do.

There should be a comma after the first "Sit".

"Beautiful isn't it?"
There should be a comma after "Beautiful".

"But gold never interested me, not anymore."
I'm seeing a contradiction here. "not anymore" means that there was a time when gold interested Luciano, which goes directly against him saying that it never did right before that. Did you mean for him to say that gold doesn't interest him, not that it never interested him?

Hah.

Not a chance.

We won't fire the first shot, naturally. If Charles wants a War over Slaves, it will be on his head.

But we will NOT help him in this. NEVER. And if he wants to stop us from breaking the chains, we will await him with shot, shell and steam.

[] Luciano's Response
-[] You know Charles, I once thought that life was unfair, yet after everything I've went through..this journey since my days as a street urchin, to the Great Inventor of Italy, to even becoming King of Italy..I've only realised one simple thing. Life is unfair for those who don't want to do the hardwork, of truly taking everything into consideration. Frankly, after seeing you, I won't be shocked to find your eyes looking to the forbidden bosom of apples that would even make Adam and Eve become pale and completely hesitant to bite..even making the Serpent look at you as if you're the incarnation of Evil itself. The World works on Power, as you have said. If Life is Unfair, then we can use the power to turn the world Fair, which I have decided to do. I'll use that power to spread goodness as you spread foulness.

Anything more I should add?

was a time when gold interested Luciano

Luciano was a street urchin after his parent's passing..meaning he needs money to be able to live the next day, however since becoming prominent as Italy's Great Inventor and later King..he really dosen't need it in excess. Thus why it no longer interests him as he can be focused on his work and running the state than trying to earn a living.

""Because the Spartans showed how inefficient it was." Luciano drinks a bit of Liquid Chocolate (brought from the Americas) mixed with Milk. "While at the begining it would seem plausible and efficient." Here, Luciano looks at the confused Charles with a stern look in his eyes. "What matters more is the long term, than simply burning and slaughtering them would be counter-productive to your imperialist idealistic world of your and my own making.

"Think about it." Luciano points at the map of Italy. "The Spartans had slaves, and they paid the price after quickly realising their more intelligent men are cut out from the picture, potential ones from slaves only culled with foods decreasing in number..in terms of Empires such as yours." Luciano glares at Charles with anger. "A Waste of Resources." He coughs as he tries to rein in his anger.

"God and Jesus never said to enslave your fellow neighbours on a Sunday morning." He pokes a paling Charles at the chest. "They never said to kill them all for no reason and personal gain that does nothing for the collective!" He pokes again, harshly this time. "They never said to suppress the poor and treat fellow brothers and sisters that Christ himself made sure to help!

"You want your Empire?" Luciano spits out the word. "Then fine, but we will continue the Liberation of our Neighbours that were vindicated, neglected, and treated unjust as fellow citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven!

"Unlike you, we will treat them as our right to protect them. Unlike you, we will give them the opportunities they are missing all their life to serve a state that refuses to serve and reward them. Unlike you, we will make sure they are fellow Italians, brothers and sisters..A Family!""

A few great ida of possible answer redacted a few time ago in perspective of this aswer,i bring them back for possible inspiration.

(Themarineguy, page 41 post 1010)
""The thing about slavery. It's wasteful. Whenever the worker is a slave or not, needs still need to be met, and some manner of leadership. And yet, slaves are not given any real motivation, as well as requiring effort and resources spent to avoid products going bad, or preventing said workers from disappearing. Never mind the fact that working someone to exhaustion not only risks injury, but risks drops in quality and efficiency by mistakes and inefficiencies that creep in due to losing the ability to focus. And that's before counting the importance of skill, which is still relevant and could mess wit the intended system, doesn't it?"

"Another thing. You hear of the Egyptian pyramids? Miraculous works of engineering and ingenuity, something which is common knowledge to have been built by slaves. And yet. Something doesn't add up. The pyramids are the Tombs of the Pharaohs, grand edifices to their glory, built to heights others would have considered impossible. But how many of our great Cathedrals were built by slaves? Not sure if even a single one used slave labor, relying on highly skilled artisans to build what is in essence grand pieces of art, because not only would slaves not have such developed skills, they couldn't be trusted the same ways artisans are. So why would the Pharaohs of egypt trust such unmotivated and unskilled labor near something so important to them as his pyramid?""

(Randino Treviani, post page 41)

""All that a slave accomplishes is tainted. I did not need slaves to forge Italy's guns, nor bring about the rebirth of my nation. Neither were they needed to invent the steam engine or make my nation rich off steel. You wish to buy slaves and trade them for glory, but glory is earned, and never bought. Pretend the empire you build by the strength and fortitude of those you claim lesser is grand rather than rushed. It will not make a difference.""

Now how to asemble this in something tht let's hope would concince the guy ?

Why not add some religious point to it.

The best I saw was like this.
'Man was made in God's image and God's image must not be degraded. Therefore slavery is sacrilegious'.

[] Luciano's Response Draft 2
-[] "Because the Spartans showed how inefficient it was." Luciano drinks a bit of Liquid Chocolate, brought from the Americas, mixed with Milk.

"God and Jesus never said to enslave your fellow neighbours on a Sunday morning." He continues rant with more fervor in his voice. "They never said to kill them all for no reason and personal gain that does nothing for the collective!" He punches the table, harshly this time. "They never said to suppress the poor and treat fellow brothers and sisters that Christ himself made sure to help! Many of them not even Christian!" He shakes his head as he decide to tone down his anger.

"All that a slave accomplishes is tainted." He continues before giving Charles a moment to speak. "I did not need slaves to forge Italy's guns, nor bring about the rebirth of my nation." He looks at him with a steely gaze. "Neither were they needed to invent the steam engine or make my nation rich off steel." He draws out the silence before continuing his statement. "You wish to buy slaves and trade them for glory, but glory is earned, and never bought. Pretend the empire you build by the strength and fortitude of those you claim lesser is grand rather than rushed. It will not make a difference."

"Another thing." He points at a map of Mediterranean Africa, specifically the region of Egypt. "You hear of the Egyptian pyramids?" He asks in concealed smile of wonder. "Miraculous works of engineering and ingenuity." He frowns as he reaches the next point. "Something which is common knowledge to have been built by slaves.

"And yet.." He draws out the sentence to increase the tension. "Something doesn't add up." He waves his pointy finger at the map. "The pyramids are the Tombs of the Pharaohs, grand edifices to their glory, built to heights others would have considered impossible. But how many of our great Cathedrals were built by slaves?" He looks at Charles, as if he was being an imbecile. "Not sure if even a single one used slave labor, relying on highly skilled artisans to build what is in essence grand pieces of art, because not only would slaves not have such developed skills, they couldn't be trusted the same ways artisans are. So why would the Pharaohs of Egypt trust such unmotivated and unskilled labor near something so important to them as his pyramid?" He stops for a few seconds as his face softens with remorse for his old friend.

"You know Charles." His voice sadden and soft. "I once thought that life was unfair, yet after everything I've went through..this journey since my days as a street urchin, to the Great Inventor of Italy, to even becoming King of Italy..I've only realised one simple thing." His eyes becomes enlightened as he shares the lesson of life. "Life is unfair for those who don't want to do the hardwork, of truly taking everything into consideration.

"Frankly, after seeing you, I won't be shocked to find your eyes looking to the forbidden bosom of apples that would even make Adam and Eve become pale and completely hesitant to bite..even making the Serpent look at you as if you're the incarnation of Evil itself." He looks at Charles with a resolute look on his face and in his eyes, a conviction fully realized. "The World works on Power, as you have said. If Life is Unfair, then we can use the power to turn the world Fair, which I have and will keep deciding to do. I'll use that power to spread goodness as you spread foulness.

"You want your Empire?" Luciano spits out the word as confidence only continues to rise in his tone and body.

Unlike you, we will make sure they are fellow Italians, brothers and sisters..A Family! Critique about my lack of judgement on powers all you want, Charles. Because I'll Simply Use my and the people of Italy's powers to enforce a Free and Fair World!"
