Book 3: Final Chapter.
A New Challenge appears.
-[X]The Army's First Class… Well Actually: The Army have asked something… They need money to build an academy for Officers. And train recruits. Doing this might piss off the Navy. DC: ??? Reward: You see about founding an Academy… and a training camp for training new soldiers. The Navy hears about this, they will throw a fit. Rolled:
D100 + 25 => 40
The Navy's Reactions:
D100 => 61
As you looked through many of the reports, and the approval of such a thing, there were going to always be problems.
The army, as is tradition to maritime powers, was always neglected by the Navy, yet there is never anything that would have caused you to fear mutiny. The Navy was well trained, the Sea Lord was practically a saint among his men, and he was an ally who was enjoying his status.
But the Army in this new and final budget of this Government, was practically set. The Navy got its share, but far more resources were sent to the Army, far more than ever done before.
The army, the Generals, captains and garrisons thanked you, and most of the men were drinking to your heath.
The Navy… said nothing. There was grumbling yes. There was anger yes.
But you had spoken, and this government had its orders. So… they agreed and listened.
Reward: Army Reforms unlocked.
New Actions Available.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-[X] Free Elections: This will be the first Free Elections of the Italian State. Time to see who wins. DC: 0 Reward: You see the makeup of this new government. And who will lead it. Rolled:
D100 + 25 => 117
The Election:
The Grazini's:
D100 => 42
The Moderates:
D100 => 17
The Republicans:
D100 => 49
To say that the election was incredibly close… was a drastic understatement.
The Moderate's failure in the foreign policy game, despite massive economic growth and millitary adventures, and the starting of the new Italian Education system, did not see them respond well in the polls for the election. And it seems that the Grazini's with the hero Medici… Well as heroic and politically talented as the man who helped unify Italy… And he promised even greater wealth, and… glory.
They gained quite a bit in the north and Naples and Sicily.
It was Senator Octavian, that capitalized on the numerous smaller issues that had been ignored by this government. The school system was nice, yes, and had great political policy success. He promised liberation
But no one ever expected it to be a divided government.
No one had a majoraty.

The English were not happy with that. It seems that the English Admiralty and the Navy captains spoke to Parliment.
And they convinced them that such a treaty would only harm England and her navy.
Failure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

You rebuilt Rome in your own image. And it would all be because of one thing. Lead pipes were replaced with Steel ones.
And then it went even further. Aquaducts rebuilt. Water flowed into the city, safe drinking water.
And then you needed to send the waste water out… and then it got more and more.
Every project just got bigger, as one problem was solved.
But you liked the challenge. And all it did was prove how right you were.
Reward: Rome's entire sewer system was replaced and rebuilt in 6 months. The city never has to worry about dirty drinking water. And now it can grow bigger.
The Pope even praised you.

And Severin and the Order of Solutions have a bounty of 20 million silver on their heads by the Ottoman sultan.

To think of just how simple it was. It required water yes, an incredible amount of it, and than the bellows and then cloth, usually sheep wool… because it was cheaper.
But after a while, while the coal is still toxic and causing you coughing fits, you could spend far longer dealing with it, and working in it.
Honestly, you think if you didn't do it, you probobly would be getting sick, or worse.
Reward: Invented semi-modern coal filters.
The emissions by Italian industries are far less now. The Italian industry is far more effective.
