To all the people saying you perfer to finish off France. This plan still does that the changes are too personal actions. Being with our wife and child.
Cool. Do we get to find out what dozenish inventions you have him spit out before his death to shape the new future your making in this quest as a final legacy achievement post or will that be covered in some historic lore post in the future quest?
Makes sense about hitting the 1,000,000 point threshold. Depending on how much Luciano helps in shaping Europe post this war, and how much his actions have already shaped the world, he could arguably be on the same level as Napoleon in OTL.
So...to help me work trough my fury at France right now, @Magoose allowed me to design the 'False' Holy Roman Emperor who is currently trying to reforge and reform the HRE and who could be our biggest help against France. Which I did.
Here he is: Wilhelm I., Count of Waldeck and Holy Roman Emperor.
In case you don't know, Waldeck in roughly where I live, so I'm going with some Hometown Bias here.^^
Wilhelm was the second Son of Heinrich VIII., Count of Waldeck, in OTL. Pretty much nothing is known about him, hence why I can now play around with him a bit.
He is 28 years old as of now and made a bit of a Name for himself as a Landsknecht-Commander. He actually fought against the Ottomans in Italy under Gotz and gained experience there. However, his greatest Talents lie in Diplomacy and Stewardship, not in Warfare.
After his older brother Philipp IV. became Count of Waldeck in 1513, they soon converted to Lutheranism, together with most of Waldeck. Actual Lutheranism that is, not France's bastardization of it. Wilhelm, always a pious man, took a great liking to the message of Luther and spent much of his time helping cripples and otehr downtrodden people the Catholic Priests wouldn't, especially organizing relief efforts for crippled survivors of the War against the Ottomans in Italy, earning great acclaim and respect among Lutheran Germany.
When France invaded, he and his brother were part of the Forces trying to fight back. But the army they were in lost the battle and while Wilhelm managed to retreat with most of his personal forces intact, Philipp was captured and burned on a stake by the French.
As Wilhelm watched Frankfurt burn in the distance and heard of his brothers fate, he swore bitter revenge on France, it's King and it's church. Together with many like-minded Nobles, he went to the Emperor to organize a united defense...only for the Emperor to dissolve the HRE and run, leaving all Principalities to the French.
ENRAGED by what he saw as a perfidious betrayal of all German People, Wilhelm stole the Crown and other Insignias and, in an act inspired by zeal, ambition and just a desperate desire to right the injustice of this world, he crowned himself the new Holy Roman Emperor, supported by most of the Nobles with him, especially his greatest Ally: Philipp the Magnanimous, Landgrave of Hesse.
Now he is gathering Allies, with Gotz, who remembers him from Italy as a 'good lad', already assembling an Army to fight together with him. With the HRE officially dissolved and most Electors dead at France's hands, there is basically nobody left with a ground to oppose him in legal manners, so his Legitimacy will pretty much be decided by the coming War against the French.
A War for the Future of Protestantism and, as he puts it, the very Soul of all Germanic Peoples.
Name: Wilhelm I. of Waldeck
Description: A man in his late twenties, with sharp blue eyes, black hair and a short beard.
Titles: Count of Waldeck, Holy Roman Emperor, 'The Savior Emperor' by your supporters, especially among the common folk; 'The False Emperor' by your detractors.
Age: 28
Height: 6 feet
Hometown: Waldeck, modern Hesse
Birthday: 11th November, 1493
Religion: Lutheran
Nicknames: Willy
Allies: Philipp I., the Magnanimous. Landgrave of Hesse, one of the highest ranking Nobles in the Empire left after the French Massacres. Known for being a generous, merciful and capable Ruler, who supports you knowing that the Empire will need a strong, more zealous figure than him at the Helm to be reborn...and for Hesse to reap the rewards of that.
Gotz von Berlichingen. Your former Commander in Italy, now perhaps your most valuable Ally, given the resistance he is organizing against France.
Enemies: The King and Church of France.
Public Reputation: 8 (You have left an impression on the Nobles and common People of the Empire alike through zeal, piety and fervent desire to save them from the French. In fact, the common People in your territories LOVE you as a man of the people. But you have many detrectors still, and time will tell if you can prove them wrong.)
Family Reputation: 5 (Your Family was always a minor one: Respectable, but never more than a footnote within the HRE. Perhaps with you, that will finally change...)
Stats
Composure: 20 (Throughout life, conflict, war, and battle, you have learned, without exception, that there is one thing you can control. Yourself. You have moments of weakness yes. but never of doubt. The German People need you and no matter how heavy the burden, you will shoulder it.)
Military: 12 (You are not incapable as a Military Leader, but you are also no Gotz of Berlichingen.)
Charisma: 25 (There is a blue light shining in your eyes, a force behind your words, that captivate all who speak with you. You don't know when that fire and force came to you - perhaps it was when your brother and Frankfurt died horrifically before your eyes. But wherever they came from, you WILL use them.)
Decorum: 18 (You never really frequented the big courts of Europe, but your Charisma goes a long way to help you even there.)
Stewardship: 16 (You are no Genius, but you understand more than enough to properly finance and manage things.)
Intelligence: 22 (You are an intelligent man, with a vision for the future and a plan, if a desperate one, to achieve it.)
Subterfuge: 8 (You understand the need for cloaks and daggers, but you would never entrust yourself with managing them.)
Command Skills
Command: 18 (You are not an experienced Commander, but your sheer natural Charisma makes people want to follow you regardless.)
Calvary Command: 8 (You know what cavalry can do to a man foot)
Infantry Command: 14 (You have planned and lead a few attacks)
Artillery Command: 6 (Artillery is not your greatest field.)
Grand Strategy: 9 (You are a novice in strategy.)
Civil Skills
Engineering: 2 (Simply put, you do not have at all a mind for machines.)
Education: 25 (You are well read and learned, speak multiple languages fluently and can recite almost the entire Bible verbatim.)
Logistic: 7 (You do not have a mind for logistics, besides the basics.)
Manual Labor: 12 (You are no stranger to hard work, but not truly used to it, either.)
Law: 23 (You plan to reforge an Empire. You are prepared for that task, when the time comes.)
Administration: 18 (You shine in this field in your own right, but you know Landgrave Philipp is better at it than you.)
Combat Skills
Marksmanship: 15 (You are a decidedly above-average shot, having learned it while on hunts with your family.)
Swordsmanship: 19 (You are no Master, but you are better than most.)
Athletics: 16 (You are in good physical shape)
Hand to Hand: 8 (Though you are no good when it comes to mere punching.)
Traits:
For The Love of Man: You believe, with all your heart that the greatness of humanity, in God's Kingdom, is discovering the world around them, and building relationships with others. To make the world better for all of us. (For every friend you have, with a relationship above a 5/10, gain +5 to all rolls.)
Lutheran True-Believer: You believe in the Thesis of Martin Luther: His true words, not the horrific bastardizations the French have made of it. And you believe firmly that following his teachings will benefit all German Peoples, Nobles and Commoners alike. (You stand for everything good in Lutheranism and fiercely oppose those who twist it's message. +10 to all Rolls interacting with other German Lutherans, -15 to all Diplomatic Rolls with Heretic (French) Lutherans.)
The Holy Roman Emperor(?): The Empire that has stood since the days of Otto the Great seems to lie dead...but perhaps you, against all odds, can bring it back from the Ashes, resplendent and strong like never before. (Your Ambition is to restore the Holy Roman Empire in a new, modern and strong form. Unknown Effects. Will be revealed should you succeed in truly becoming Emperor...)
The People's Saviour: You seem to be the only one willing and able to organize widespread resistance against the cruel French Invaders. While the Nobles eye you with trepidation, the common People in your Territories, enraptured by your speeches, your charisma and your care for the downtrodden, flock to your banner. (Will never face major unrest or Revolts from the common folk as long as this trait is active. Recruiting is no longer a problem, but your Soldiers will still need training and weapons.)
Arch-Nemesis: FRANCE, IT'S CHURCH AND IT'S KING. The blasphemous French have profaned Luthers teachings and turned their twisted, heretical interpretation of it into an engine of slaughter and destruction, with your own Family, Frankfurt and thousands of innocents to pay the price.
You will not rest, NEVER, until these Puppets of Satan are cast down into the fiery pit, their false faith destroyed and their King made to answer for his crimes. (Disabled Diplomacy with Protestant France and all it's Allies. There will be no peace until Justice has been done in full. +20 to all Rolls against Protestant France.)
Honestly if you want someone to run through stuff before you post it to catch this noise I'm happy too; I find that I'm better at editing prose than actually writing it and I'm very fast.
It's kind of a Meme of German History that a lot of male members of royal families, especially Prussian ones, had Wilhelm somewhere in their name.
Heck, two of three German Emperors in OTL were named Wilhelm, lest we forget.
It's basically the stereotypical default name for a German Ruler.

So I'm pissed off at some asshole who told me I couldn't be a writer because I didn't have a doctorate and couldn't be serious about it because I was a mechanic.
I'm using QM powers to give you all an extra +10 to the rolls.
I am in need of some encouragement.
So if you have any, give it. Or not, I don't care, I finished two chapters of my book in an hour just to prove that asshole wrong.
Last night I read 4 pages of a book I paid for because a quest I'm participating in made me interested. Those 4 pages are all I've read this year since I bought it early last year.
I've spent more time reading and obsessing over 3 different quests you've written recently than I have that successful first novel in a trilogy. I nominate your quests for SV awards. You can write with the best of them.
You ran into an arrogant snob who likes to fit people into neat little boxes without knowing a damn thing about them and whose opinion is held in defiance or ignorance of the many success stories of average joes who wrote a book and made it big.
He tried to tell you what you shouldn't do because of some narrow self assured viewpoint. Ignore him and continue your march toward greatness while he sits comfortably in his tiny world of preconceived notions.
You can absolutely be a writer with out a degree. Some companies might not hire you but most authors of books don't have degrees. Hell Octavia E. Butler didn't have a degree. Really unless you want to write for a company like microsoft and pixar you don't need a degree.
