A Hellfish flys again! ( a Simpsons X DVV CK2 Quest)

[X] Keep Him imprisoned in Springfield Prison, he is your responsibility to deal with (If you decide this, you guys need to upgrade your prison next turn, otherwise Gill WILL escape! Choosing to keep Gill will open an Action for Frink to Study Gill, allowing to learn more about mutations!).

[X] Tell him yes, its a good opportunity to make something worthwhile from what Mr. Black was doing. (Unlock Mafia National Action to reopen the Sweat shop operations, this time under you and Fat Tony's command).

Funnily enough I've actually been working on a draft of a plan as well, it's pretty different from yours but I feel like there's room to discuss some actions or hero unit placements:

[] Plan Name TBD
-[] National Actions
–[] Martial: Upgrade Your Security Force (DC 50) (Willie)

Now, the DCs for a few of these actions are likely to change thanks to us bribing Quimby, but I did the math and with how things stand currently most of these actions wouldn't require particularly good luck to pass outright; and none of them crit fail on anything but a nat 1 so they have that going for them.

Martial: Finishing the job on upgrading our plant security, would like to get it done to make any plans Burns might involving it be more difficult
Diplomacy: A Mafia action for Tony and another chance for more hero units to give us a little more leeway on who we can put on actions
Stewardship: The most crowded category, Jasper on Powell Motors because it's low risk and gives us an income boost, Moe on smuggling ops because he may have synergy there and it also gives income if we pass, Wilhelm on upgrading the prison to get it done quick, and Apu finishing the job on the restructuring.
Intrigue: To be honest I have Mona on investigating the robberies as a placeholder; I expect there to be at least a couple more Burns related intrigue actions unlocked thanks to her crit this past turn so we'll likely have options there and if anything seems particularly pressing I'll change it to that, and Finale on the mysterious group because that's literally his main reason for being on our side.
Learning: Multiple good options here, but I want to increase safety because I think we can all agree that making it harder for anyone to sabotage us is a good thing
Occult: Get ourselves another occult unit, which would both give us more options there and get us another step closer to unlocking a 2nd occult action (we need 5 heroes with occult scores to get it, Wilhelm, Moe, and Lena make 3. If Finale with his question mark score counts he's 4, if not then Frink is almost halfway to his own score, so one recruit would make 5)

I would argue is better to deal with the possible zombie apocalypse first that's brewing in the cemetery instead of recruiting heroes.

Like the cemetery is a ticking time bomb and it can blow up at any moment. Besides studying necromancy maybe we can fully bring Wilhelm to life instead being a undead.

Now to reconcile with Homer. And it better work this time!

Also, we really need to up our combat game.
I mean, we are playing a bunch of Simpsons characters. Martial isn't gonna be our point of advantage unless we get some pretty strong canon immigrants coming in.

Hiring capes will also hurt the goverment opinion since the SRA still is in effect we will be blatant breaking the law, we are not a King that has money and power to get away with this.
It depends.

If we have a cape zooming around doing highly public heroics that cause major collateral damage on the regular, it's gonna cost us because of the SRA.

If we have a cape on payroll who's just physically strong and tough, and we use them for relatively low-key operations like the one we just had, or in environments that are known to be hostile like the Wasteland, then the government may be more inclined to turn a blind eye, because while we're not King-tier, we're... Prince-tier, if you will.

The memories of a cat and mouse (non canon unfortunately)
Well after a long time, finally got some inspiration again.

The memories of a cat and mouse.
Scratchy could be seen in what looked to be a concert theater with a piano, he was fully clothed with an elegant suit.

As the cat got closer to the piano, he didn't notice certain blue mouse laughing like a maniac behind curtains as he had his hands on teather controls for the lights and the curtain, said mouse waiting for the demise of the cat as he had rigged the piano full of explosives after all, now Itchy just needed to wait for the hour of the concert to start.

As Scratchy looked at his watch, he saw it was time, so he took a seat in front of the piano and he gave Itchy the signal to rise the curtain.

Itchy smiled like a maniac and the curtain rised.

But if somewhere were to see what was behind the curtain it would be odd.

After all instead of a amphitheater full of cats it was instead a bunch of cameras with a man directing various people to keep rolling.
Yes, the industry of animation was indeed a weird one, after all the very own characters that participated in this industry were alive, so why would they need the help of a bunch of people when an entire team of toons could just films themselves doing their antics and air them on live TV?.
As the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day after all, a toon may not need much to make people laugh, but they need a lot of help so people can enjoy their antics and laugh, the animation industry isn't just the toons, but the whole team of people that help create a show.
You cannot just create a bunch of characters for a one off episode to then never use them ever again, no, for a creator that would be suicide as toons themselves have feelings like any other being.

That is where the animators, the voice actors, the directors, everyone else enter, they take the base created by the toons and complete it.

For Itchy and Scratchy this was their every day bread, they were proud of being toons, they were proud of the art they did, after all, for a toon to not bring out their best performance in any type of production they participate would be like ripping their soul apart.

This wasn't their A-material, oh they wish they could bring that out, but beggars cannot be choosers in times like these.

As the curtain finally reached the top of the theater, Scratchy began to play a very familiar melody.

As the melody continued, Scratchy finally played the fateful note.

Suddenly the piano started to shake up, Scratchy keeping himself in-character quickly put two and two together and tried to escape the ticking time bomb while screaming over the top of his lungs, but it was already too late.

As the piano exploded, the force was of such magnitude that only his airbone bones remained, following their script, this was Itchy time to enter the scene as the bones finally fell down in a position that resembled that of a xylophone.

Itchy quickly jumped onto the piano seat and connected two cables he was carrying to one specific bone, as two more bones finally ended their free fall into Itchy hands, he started playing the same melody as the cat.

When he finished that is when the director shouted the magic words ''CUT, OK GUYS WE GOT A PERFECT SHOT HERE, NOW SENT IT TO THE ANIMATORS SO THEY CAN ADD THE CAT AND MOUSE CROWDS AND THE END KABOOM''

As Itchy finally got off the chair to help his cat partner put his skeleton back together, he could see various people running around doing their duties and a very grouchy man.

A face they came to know and loathe very well, after all Meyers Jr wasn't the most pleasant man to be around.

''You two better make sure this actually puts us in the green for the ratings, I have been losing money for the seconds listering to your ideas for episodes, if by the end of the year I am not swimming in money you two are fired understood?'' Roger Meyers Jr. said while smoking a very expensive cigar.
''Understood boss'' both cat and mouse said, as Itchy finished putting his friend skeleton in place.
''Good, very well as the saying goes time is money and I have a very important meeting with the board of directors in some minutes, so I don't want anyone annoying me'' the man shouted to everyone in the room ''Also call that stupid dog here to clean this mess and give the cat a new skin''.
As the employees heard their boss orders everyone started to vacate the room.
Everyone but 3 toons, the aforementioned Cat and Mouse and the newly integrated dog who was wearing a sad janitor outfit.
''Hey guys, how did it go?'' the dog asked the cat and mouse as he passed the cat a skin that was the same as the one that got blown away.

''Hello Poochie, I don't know really I feel like I could have screamed more, but cannot do much about the script sadly'' the cat responded in a tired tone.

''Are you kidding me Scratchy you blew it out of the park, if something I messed up one of the notes in the middle, at least the sound team should be able to solve that, but dammit I hate we cannot do anything we really want for our routines without that hack of Meyers blowing a gasket or fearing a lawsuit, still dunno who is more of an asshole if Jr. or Sr., no offense Scratchy'' Itchy said in a irritated tone.

''None taken, not than that your was any better Itchy'' Scratchy said in a understanding tone patting his mousy friend back.

''Ugh don't remind me, I swear to god Poochie here got the only decent one and that guy got fired over Meyers incompetence'' Itchy said while taking out a stress ball to calm himself down.

''Uh a little of info here guys, remember I am not as old as you two'' Poochie said in a confused, but curiouss tone as he cleaned the ashes from the set they using for the episode.

''Right forgot you were drawn recently, sorry for that Poochie, but when you are in the industry for as long as us, you kinda tend to get lost in what, well used to be our routine'' Itchy said in a sad tone.

''Yeah, well if you want to know, Meyers Sr. wasn't really the most fun person to be around with, the guy was money first everything else later, when Itchy says he was a hack he wasn't sugarcoating it, thing he saw that interesed him, thing he wanted to steal to get rich quick, he was my creator sure, but damn I was so damn happy when he finally kicked the bucket, especially after every single screw up he did, not that his son is any better'' Scratchy said in a bitter tone.

''Don't remind me, the times I had to get you out of trouble because the guy couldn't just stay out of court were too much to count, especially when they lumped us alongside him on the troubles he caused'' the mouse said remembering the various legal battles and fist fights they had to get in just because Meyers Sr. couldn't not be a dick, he will admit that at least Jr. knows how to avoid the court by not stepping on anyone's feet unlike his father.

Well mostly out of fear, Sr. after all died because he made one too many enemies on his late years.

Who knew russian animators could be so deadly.

''Well as for Itchy creator, well I suppose we can let you in on the secret, many said Itchy was stolen from his creator, heck, even legally it was said that way, the real truth is that Itchy abandoned Lampwick'' Scratchy dropped the bomb on Poochie.

''Wait what?'' The dog was really surprised by this, he has heard stories about toons being stolen from their creators and everything, to even hating them, but to outright abandon them, that was a new one.

''It is the truth, buddy, as sad as it is, if you saw him today you would see nothing more than a lazy bum who is enjoying a retirement with the money he won from that theft case, but I knew the guy when he was... well sane would be putting it lightly, the guy was nuts, crazy, looney in a way, etc, when I was created the guy put a lot of that in me, you know how some toons may have some quirks from their creators?'' Itchy said to Poochie to which the dog just nodded.

''Well lets just say Lampwick put a lot of that in me and I mean a lot, I wanted to entertain people for god sake, it is the desire of every toon I know and knew, I wanted to throw pies, make people fall off banana peels, heck even standup comedy would had done it, but no that guy only wanted gory violence without any kind of punch, I had to convince him for more conventional toony stuff and less horrible stuff when we made my first cartoon, I made sure the original drafts of Manhattan Madness were lost for a good reason, the worst part is that I enjoyed every single second of said sadistic humor, so when Meyers Sr. took interest in me he told me he would put my talent to better use than that maniac of Lampwick, I was sick of it and wanted out so he didn't need much convincing, the rest well it is history, I joined his animation studio under the pretense I was his creation'' Itchy said as he remembered the past.

''Sadly the problems didn't end there, for as much as Sr. wasn't Lampwick, you still had those impulses that Lampwick left you with, you honestly couldn't made a cartoon alone due to them, not that Sr. was a well of creativity'' Scratchy said.

''How bad are we talking about?'' Poochie said as he continued listening to the story while shaking a little feeling a shiver on his toony spine.

''Ever heard of people like Negaduck?'' Itchy said at which the whole air became colder and both Scratchy and Poochie fur became a whiter one.

''Yeah though so, I can be as bad if not worse when I truly want to try, luckily for me, well this guy entered the picture'' Itchy said while smiling and pointing at his felyne compain.

''You give me too much credit really'' Scratchy said.

''Like hell I do, if it wasn't for Sr. creating you I probably wouldn't be here to begin with, Sr. may have brought me on board and away from Lampwick, but you were the catalyst that made me really be toony for the first time in my life, sure still a little gruesome, but still funny enough that I could actually be proud of making people laugh with our antics, you wouldn't believe it, after Sr. copied steamboat willie, we had a lot of creative directions to our episodes and man that was our golden time, we tried to mix it up from time to time with each of us getting our fair share of funny injuries, but thanks to this guy I am the toon standing here today'' Itchy said proudly praising his partner in antics.

''Yeah those were the times, from the caveman episodes to stuff like the radio shows we did back then, it was a roller coaster of good and bad times really, the only problem we had really was our relationships with other toons'' Scratchy said remisnicing of the old times.

''It couldn't had been that bad right?'' Poochie said as he stopped doing his janitor work as he was involved.

''Oh trust me you don't know half of it, mostly it was thanks to the legal battles Sr. kept draggin us in, others was becuase of my well quirks, sometimes it was both, Scratchy could get along with some of them and even got invited to some reunions and poker games, but little old me? shunned away, hated by pretty much almost every toon on america, even got into a fist fight with one of the greats, then again the power was going into that mouse head and he needed a reality check'' Itchy contiued his tale at which Poochie quickly connected the dots.

''Wait you don't mean you actually fought?!'' Poochie said before being interrupted by Scracthy.

''Yep guy over here got into a fist fight with Mickey Mouse during one of our legal escapades, cannot remember which case it was, we got into so many arguments thanks to the fights Disney and Sr. had, seriously those two looked more like a married couple than animators'' Scratchy said.

''Wow you guys are living history when it comes to toons'' Poochie said surprised by the shenanigans the cat and mouse got into.

''Yeah, Disney and the mouse rise to power we were there, the creation of certain rabbit, we also were there to see it, heck, Scratchy was friends with a lot of the big ones back in the day, well before THAT happened'' Itchy said in a melancolic tone.

''What happened to be more exact?'' Poochie continued poking for more history.

''Ever heard of Toontown?'' Scratchy said to which Poochie would just shake his head in a negative answer ''Not surprised about that, you were drawn long after the incidents that happened there occured, but I can tell you it was the paradise for a toon, a town just for us, where we could be ourselves all the time, enjoy the life we were given, but then everything went downhill, there was a bank heist where a very violent toon managed to steal the entire reserve from first national bank of toontow, the police never catched him, but Itchy due to his nature was one of the main suspects, if it wasn't for one Eddie Valiant identifying that Itchy wasn't the toon that did it I doubt we would be both here today, not that it helped in any way, even if that guy saved Itchy from the slammer, lets just say he said some pretty hurtful things, not that I blame him, we later learned the guy lost his brother to the toon that did the act and even then we weren't on toontown good graces, after that incident too violent toons got banned from the town'' Scratchy finished.

''Yeah at first I got mad, but well cannot cry over the past now, especially after that guy entered the picture, everything went from downhill to hell, not that anyone with the name Judge Doom couldn't do that'' Itchy said with venom in his voice when mentioning the name of the judge.

''Wait are we talking about the same guy who politics againts toons?'' Poochie said scared a little.

''The very same, it is thanks to that asshole that the situation for all the toons around the world is as bad as it is, he was the guy who created the dip, he was the guy who destroyed toon town, he is the cause of every toon mysery in the world right now'' Itchy said as he took out a knife stabbing a photo of doom he put on a nearby table.

''Good god Roger, my friend didn't deserve to die like that'' Scratchy said failing to contain his tears.

''Don't remind me, that sick bastard made his execution public on TV for everyone to see, even the screams of agony were too much for me'' Itchy said as he shivered at the memory.

''Please tell me at least he left this world quickly'' Poochie said being scared shitless, he has heard what the dip can do to a toon, but to transmit it live, what kind of evil you must be to do it.

''Trust me Fido there are things you never want answers to, Roger was my friend and when that happened we both swore that if we ever got our hands on Doom scrawny neck he would pay even if that left us in an execution ourselves, that is as much as I am willing to say about that day'' Scratchy said with venom in his voice thinking about the Judge.

''Jesus, well good thing the dip is not here in springfield'' Poochie laughed nerviously trying to raise up the mood.

Itchy and Scratchy both gave themselves a quick look and back at their canine ex-partner.

They don't blame what happened during those days on the poor dog.

No that was Roger Meyers Jr. entire fault because of his creative decisions, Poochie had talent, they could see it every day on the office.

But because he wanted to be hip with the kids, the poor dog had his entire career ruined from the start.

If they already had problems with Doom little invention, they had an even bigger one when Meyers tried to buy the stuff to get rid of Poochie.

Not only they put their foot down when it came to Meyers buying that stuff and told him directly, that if he tried using even a drop of that stuff there would be consequences for him, consequences for them be damned.

But they made sure that even he couldn't get it behind their backs, the mafia was more than happy to keep said shipments of dip out of springfield territory, they had more than enough money to burn on that.

He gave up after the third shipment misteriously exploded as Jr. didn't want to burn more money on that.

As Scratchy finally gave a look at the clock in the wall he exclaimed ''wow look at the hour, we better end up cleaning here and go home before they close the front door''

Both Mouse and Dog looked at the clock and nodded to the cat as the two stars and the ex-star started helping each other to finish up cleaning.

Yet something cannot stop bothering the cat.

Roger was his friend, he met him back during the toon convention of the 55.

Just days before his eventual capture and execution he had called him and told him he wanted to meet him in toontown, he was close by so he obliged.

When he met his friend that day he was a mess, something big happened, he never explained what, but the happy and bumbling rabbit was a nervous wreck that day.

He tried to make talk, but the rabbit refused, he just gave him a box with a trick password, one the bumbling rabbit never gave him, he liked Roger, but damn he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed sometimes.

He only told him that the box contained something very important stuff to the rabbit

He never gave him too much importance until that day.

God the screams the rabbit made that day on tv will be something that will never leave his nightmares as he was being bathed in dip as slow as possible to hear his screams of agony.

After that he hid the box in the attic of his shared house with Itchy.

The memory of that day was just too much to touch anything related to the rabbit for both the cat and the mouse.

It is still sitting in there, waiting to be deciphered.

But the cat knows only time will tell if he will be brave enough to do it.

The only thing he can do right now is leave that to time itself.

One thing is for sure, sooner or later their revenge againts the Judge will come to pass, even if it is the last thing they do.

Jesus christ haven't written in a while, made an itchy and scratchy omake, mostly trying to fit in the context of who framed roger rabbit here and how Itchy and Scratchy themselves came to be.

Poochie doesn't has much of a paper here other than to be the one asking old questions as he is technically a new born compared to both Itchy and scratchy who are from the 20's and the late 10's in itchy case.

So of course they aren't slouches when it comes to toon history unlike poochie who is from the 80's

As for their actitudes, well it is no doubt they would hate both Meyers, due to all the bullshit they make them go trough the years with stuff like executive meddling to pretty much being on the black list of toons all over america.

Sr. was quite the plagiarist after all and Jr. is an asshole all around only wanting quick money.

As for Lampwick, we saw on his episode he wasn't a good person, the hobo life probably humbled him a little, but to make Itchy? he probably must have been nuts at the time.

Itchy didn't knew his place in this new world that gave him life, he probably is the oldest violent cartoon in this verse, even older that people like Negaduck or Doom, so of course for him his existence would be a weird one.

Considering Lampwick was an ass too it wouldn't be too out of the question that Sr. didn't had a hard time for Itchy to jump ship.

It was only when Scratchy was made that things really clicked for the mouse, someone that could take on his sadistic nature while also making sure he makes the dream of a toon a real one aka making people laugh.

After that a bloody bromance was born.

I could see that since Scratchy is the more meek of the duo got alongside other toons, at difference from itchy who was by many standards the weirdo of the industry, not helped by the beef Sr. gathered over the years.

Then there was toontown, their only safe haven, ruined by a over the top evil toon.

That they hate Doom would be putting it lightly.

They wouldn't mind a swim in the dip, if they get to maul Doom as many time as possible.

Then a little plot hook that could end up being quite funny.

After all what are the possibilites that certain letter is inside that box.

Well it is over 5 am over here so with that I am singing off.

Imma let those with more familiarity about our responsibilities and actions choose what to do.

Man that was sure a slugfest. Really felt like a gritty throwdown with everyone just getting back up to get whaled on or whale on the other said some more. And that despite Gill being more of a mudskip or something than a whale.

That nat 100 for Gill defending with the car sure was something.

Yeah, Gill pretty much nixed any immediate advantage there that Homer crashing his party woulda have had - us rolling pretty shittily definitely didnt help matters even with Homers body to "throw around", so to speak.

Tbh, only Finale *eventually* managing to put Gill to sleep saved our asses there - maybe we should reward him somehow for pulling through for us?

REWARD: You have successfully bribed Mayor Quimby! You have pretty much free range over Springfield! You have unlocked an extra free action that can only be used To do something directly related to Springfield! Quimby is willing to put you into contact with many fellow politicians, most notably a mysterious senator!

Very nice - both that extra-ish Action slot (right in time to wedge in the Prison NA to keep Gill contained, too) and getting access to Quimbys contacts (eventually we definitely should at least consider rubbing elbows with the government again to make things eadier for us going forward)

I ll take it^^

REWARD: You have recruited Lena De Spell as a Hero Unit! She doesn't quite fully trust or like you, but it's better than juvie.

Very good, especially since our actual Occultist Recruitment dint go too well this turn - as for next turn, I actually kinda want tp try Necromancy to at least make ways in adressing that looming Zombie threat in the cemetery. Unfortunately, even with Lenas Occult stat that still leaves us having to roll in the low 60s to even get a Bare success and while I do have an option to a NA bonus thanks to me turning Candace Flynn into a vampire, honestly I kinda wanna save that one for when we get into talks with Doof some time in the near future.

Anyone else?

While Itchy and Scratchy are nowhere near as starkly murderous as the likes of Negaduck, I can honestly imagine Itchy keeping up with him in a contest of sheer ultraviolence, at least for a while. That is one vicious mofo. I think Negaduck would have to outwit him. Not that Negaduck couldn't, but he'd need to.

Some hanging out time to find out what makes him tick and find out how to reward him seems in order then.
We do know one thing that he definitely wants, that being investigating his mysterious group. I'm sure he wouldn't be upset if we did the new ecosystem either, but when the description literally says "choose at your own risk" I'm inclined to make sure we have all our ducks in a row before we do it. A little more security, a few hero units suited to defending us, and i'd think we could handle it, but not as we are now

''Ever heard of people like Negaduck?'' Itchy said at which the whole air became colder and both Scratchy and Poochie fur became a whiter one.

''Yeah though so, I can be as bad if not worse when I truly want to try, luckily for me, well this guy entered the picture'' Itchy said while smiling and pointing at his felyne compain.

...Itchy could be WORSE THAN NegaDuck if he tried and is still *holding back* on Scratchy and the viewers?

Holy shit-fuck, what drugs was Lampwick on when he cooked up that mouse?

''Don't remind me, that sick bastard made his execution public on TV for everyone to see, even the screams of agony were too much for me'' Itchy said as he shivered at the memory.

...aaaand Doom managed to exceed even Itchys limits with Rogers execution? Wow, I dunno if I should be awed or horrified at that...

No that was Roger Meyers Jr. entire fault because of his creative decisions, Poochie had talent, they could see it every day on the office.

But because he wanted to be hip with the kids, the poor dog had his entire career ruined from the start.

If they already had problems with Doom little invention, they had an even bigger one when Meyers tried to buy the stuff to get rid of Poochie.

... Meyers Jr. wanted to *Execute* Poochie just because the poor dog´s utter mess of a character design coupled with him just getting shoehorned into an established dymanic predictably failed to appeal to the kids?

What an absolute asshole...

But good to know that off-camera, I &S are actually *Good friends* with their ill-fated co-star and are pinning the blame for the whole mess solely on the Jr., where it belongs.

Yeah, now I actually kinda wanna buy the studio out to help those three out - and not just because I feel sorry for the mouse having to deal with being hardwired to experience ND levels of sadism and thanks to Scratchy managing to funnels them into *somewhat* more constructive ways.

I declare this omake canon!
We offer either a question or +20 to a Kaiser personal or a +20 to a National the Kaiser is assigned to.

+20 to a Kaiser NA, please

You outdid yourself with this omake Gleeman. Its amazing! We declare this omake canon, cause Vampire Candace its too good not to have on the quest! We offer you as your reward for your hard work:

+15 Bonus to any national Action of your Choice

or

A question, and an Answer, same rules as above.

or

+15 bonus to ANY Doof related roll of your choice.

+15 to Doof roll, if people don´t mind.

Man, making Toons people adds such a layer of tragedy to all the Poochie memes.

Yeah, that kinda thing tends to happen once you take WFRR into account as canon...

So we will soon have a prison capable of holding super villains. What will it have? Forcefields? Auto turrets? No moats, considering this guy, but maybe landmines and sniper towers?

Knowing Springfield it's just going to be a regular prison with a "No supervillains past this point" sign at the exit. I mean that as a joke but even a regular prison that's not held together by duct tape, cardboard and well wishes would be an improvement over what's there now.

So anyone have an Idea on what team to put on the action? I really don't want any chance of failure on this and let Gil escape.

Right now, on the Discord we had the idea to put Wilhelm on it and buff the shit outta him

Yeah, Abe and Wilhelm would give the roll a +30 mod vs the DC of 60 for the upgrade. Maybe we'll be lucky and upgrading the prison will be one of the actions to get a DC reduction thanks to bribing Quimby, but even if it's not there's a couple omake bonuses that could be thrown at it in order to guarantee a pass

And with my +20 to a Wilhelm NA, we can squish it down to 10 - very nice^^
