I wonder if we can reopen the "O' Flannegan Pub" in Springfield. From what I remember, it was a decent to good Irish Pub, and the owner got along well with everyone.
It may be a good way to attract more Irish characters, or minorities (Toons, Anthros, Robots etc...) in general.
I think if Homer saw a fish monster he would run over it intentionally, especially if he thought his kids were in danger. (Whether the fish monster was related to that danger or not.)
If he does show up, I hope he strangles Gil. That would be funny.
You can't help but stare at the red eyes of the even buffer Fishman, his hulking figure easily towering over your allies and you.
"Ugh. Morons. Fine. If you want something done right…you know."
The monster's voice is calm, speaks in but his rage is unmistakable.
"Another one of you freaks." Fat Tony growls from your left as he pulls out his switchblade. "We already dealt with one of your type, so scram before we turn you into ceviche you overgrown sardine!"
"Pfah ha ha ha!" The fishman belts out, clutching his stomach in a bout of humor belying his gruesome form.
"Whiteman ain't half the fish I am!" The fishman begins to charge, barreling like a Boulder downhill!
"I'll show you why I'm the big real kahuna around here!"

Homer arrives during the first round of combat!
What turn does he interrupt?
Rolling a 1d4
Result: 1!
And Homer joins the party right from the start!
Homer Jay Simpson character sheet
Martial: 23 (Homer May not have formal training like you do, but he has been though way to many scraps and fights. He can throw a punch and take a beating.)
Diplomacy 20 (Your son has a way with works that even surprises you. When he isn't drunk his speeches can teach the hearts of some people)
Stewardship: 18 (Homer is great when it comes to leadership, being able to organize mobs of people with some success. But he sucks when it comes to handling money)
Intrigue 13 (Homer isn't the sharpest tool I. The shed when it comes to lying. Though sometimes he Can come up with good lies and misdirection he can be fooled quite easily too.)
Learning 12 (Homer can be quite dumb most of the time. Though there's some smart on your son's head. He even is a polyglot!)
Traits
Superhuman resistance: Homer can take a deal of punishment that would incapacite most people. Not only that but your son is a brilliant fighter.+10 bonus to all martial combat rolls Homer is directly involved.
Music ability: +10 to Al music related rolls and +10 when singing.
Leadership skill: +5 to all roll on an adventure when Homer is the one leading it and he is invovled on the roll (Not including combat rolls).
Box of donuts: Homer is a very lazy person and sometimes can forget the job he was assigned to.
When Homer is assigned to a national action a d10 is rolled. On a 1 the action is rolled but Homer Stats aren't considered for it, like he wasn't assigned to it. On a 2 the action is done but Homer only adds half his stats to it. On a 3-10 the action is rolled normally.
That lucky fatass: Homer has managed to do some impressive things across his life. Some of it has been because of how stubborn Homer can be. Some of it is because of how lucky your son can be. Though luck eventually runs out.
If a National action Homer is assigned to end in a failure or bare failure. Homer rerolls the action with a +25 bonus. But if the action doesn't succed In the second roll it becomes automatically a critical failure.
The Finale's turn… He was gonna take a shot against Gill, but Homer beat him to the punch!
Homer's turn!
Homer attacks Gill!
Homer get's advantage on this attack cause of surprise car crash! No one never sees it coming!
Gill Critical Defends!
This results in a Homer Critical Failure!!!
QM NOTE: THIS IS GONNA HURT FOR HOMER!!!
But just before the fish monster can take another step, you hear roar of an engine and suddenly…
*CRASH!!!*
Everyone turns at the sound of metal through metal erupting from the front gates, makeshift walls falling to reveal a familiar pink sedan
"Homer!?!" You can't believe it, your son came! Your beautiful, stupid, reckless,-
"Dad!" Your grandkids cheer!
The car serves in serpentine as your son fights to direct its course, headed straight for you and the monster!
You feel someone pull you back, but the creature stares at it like a deer in the headlights. Homer has a clean shot, and-
"Vhat zhe hell?!"
Your jaw drops as the fishthing crouches, grabbing your son' car before it can hit him! With vehicular momentum, he pivots in place and sends it flying through arts and crafts!
Your heart nearly stops, but Homer's voice turns it into a skipped beat. "Oooooowwww!!".
"Thank god.." As you recover, you watch as the fishman runs towards the car, reaches out to the driver's side, and with a great show of strength, rips the door apart, and drags your son out of the car!
"I don't know who you are or where you came from pal, but you guys are not messing this up!" He shouts as he starts repeatedly punching your son in his face!
"Owowowowowow!" Your stunned son can only say as he takes the beating, his face swelling from the many hits he is taking.
"Hey, that's my son you're punching! Stop it!" You shout as you manage to get back to your feet and ready to sick your hounds on him.
"Well then you can have him!" He answers back as he starts spinning with Homer in his grasp and lets go, hurling your son towards you.
Homer wails as he flies towards you, fear and pain plastered on his face.
Unfortunately, you can't get away in time and Homer crashes into you, making you fall to the ground again.
"Ahhh! My back!" You shout as the full weight of your son presses on your frail body. As you struggle to get him off you you can't help but cry. "Homer! What in Lincoln's beard are you doing here?!"
"I…ow…I had to stop you from…messing things up!" He mutters, still dazed. "Arhg…What just hit me?" He grabs his head, still on top of you.
"I was doing what you should have from the start and rescued your kids from this horrible place! I had everything under control!" You shout as you fail to move Homer…curse your son's fatness!
The fishman lets out a cackle as he turns to Fat Tony and Kaiser "Okay…with them outta the way…who's next?" He says as he smiles maliciously, both Italian and zombie German taking a step back, as they ready for the confrontation.
The Finale's turn, for real this time.
The Finale attacks Gill!
Result: 30(roll)+30 (Martia) +30 (Grand father of sniping) + 10 (one in the forest)=100!
Gill Defends:
Result: 8(Roll)+25 (Martial)=33!
The Finale Success!
QM note: The Finale's Sleeping Darts don't damage the enemy but put them to sleep, unfortunately, Gill biology is too weird for them to work effectively, it won't damage him but will give him a -5 malus as drowsiness starts to settle in.
As he finishes muttering those words, a dart hits him right in the neck. Confused, the fishman reaches to pull it out, staring at it like a crushed mosquito.
He looks around trying to see where the dart comes from. "Who the hell-Ohhh, I'm feeling weird." He shakes his head, as the dart contents start to kick in, you expect the monster to go unconscious, but…
He shakes his head again, and stares at Fat Tony and Kaiser. "Oh it's on!" He says as he rushes towards them.
Gill's turn.
Gill attacks!
Rolling a 1d4 to see who he attacks:
1) Abe, 2) Fat Tony, 3) Kaiser, 4) Homer. (The Finale isnt a target cause he is hidden and far away.)

Gill Attacks Fat Tony again!
Gill uses Trait Hardening Sludge: +10 to combat rolls for Gill when attacking. If Gill succeeds in a combat roll against an opponent when using this, the victim must pass a Martial DC 75 check, if failed, the victim becomes immobile for the time being.
Fat Tony rushes towards the fishman to meet his charge. The fishman goes for a right swing, but Fat Tony ducks under it and goes for a slash with his switchblade, unfortunately, the sea monster catches the italian's wrist, stopping the knife cold.
"Arrgh!" Fat Tony grunts as he struggles with the fishman, trying to get free. "I've gut fish tougher than you, merda!" He shouts right at his face.
"Oh yeah? Could those fish do… this?!" He says as his throat bulges. Fat Tony recognizes what's coming, but is unable to get away as the fishman shoots a load of sludge right at his face. The moment the substance hits him, Fat Tony can't help but shout in pain as the acid burns his face.
Blinded from the attack, Tony is unable to block a scaled hammer to his gut, the Italian dropping to the ground clutching his face in pain.
You couldn't just stay here under your Son as the fish guy beats the crap out of your coworkers! Still struggling to get off under Homer, you whistle as you point at the monster.
"Cripper, Badger! Go!!!" The hounds obey, rushing towards him, but the guy is ready, catching Cripper with one hand and throwing him away, as he shoots another load of sludge towards Badger, stopping the badger in his tracks.
"Don't interrupt!" He shouts as he renews his focus on Fat Tony, the Italian being unable to do nothing but writhing in pain.
Building his throat again, the monster shoots out a bigger wave of sludge, covering Fat Tony from head to toe. The slime hardens in seconds, trapping him in place like a grieving statue.
"And stay down if you know what's better for you!" The beast shouts as he fails to notice Kaiser creeping behind him, and begins shooting at the fish guy with his necrotic finger guns.
The magic bullets hit home but don't do much but startle the fish monster, who turns around to deal with the Kaiser.
"Stop that! It's annoying!" He says as his throat bulges and start shooting back globs of sludge. Kaiser, recognizing what it is, rolls out of the way, as he keeps shooting, unable to damage their hide.
Meanwhile, your son finally manages to recover, as he finally rolls over, freeing you, and starts to unsteadily get up. "Ugh…where's the buffet?" He mutters as he shakes his head, clearing up the last bit of confusion.
"Oh I haven't forgotten about you!" The monster says he shoots another acidic sludge blob towards Homer, who shouts in surprise but manages to duck away, letting the attack fly by.
Kaiser, Homer and you are forced to keep moving as the fishman starts bombarding you with waves of sludge, being unable to do anything else but avoid getting hit.
The chaos is almost enough to distract you from Tony's prison. Little by little, cracks had formed in the Hardened Sludge, acid weeping through the gaps in his face, and you hear Tony cry
"I won't…let…you…hurt...MY SON!"
He shouts as he starts to push with all his might, and a second later, the sludge breaks, letting Fat Tony free, who manages to stand up.
Though a face covered in burns, he shouts "Come on you pesce di merda! Bring it up!", charging the fish with his switchblade once again.
…Which is received by a backhand from the monster, dropping the italian to the ground, and as he tries to get up, the fish stomps HARD! Fat Tony can't help but gasp in pain.
"You old fossils will need to do better than that if you want to beat ME!" The fishguy boasts, still stepping on Fat Tony as he readies another onslaught of sludge.

Round 2 is over
And as if responding to the fishman's floating, another dart hits against the monster's neck.
"Aaagh! Seriously! Who is doing that! It's even in the same freaking place!" He says as he starts wobbling up a little, removing his foot from Fat Tony as he grabs his head, a yawn escaping his lips.
"Man…I…need my beauty sleep soon." He mutters as he continues shooting sludge towards Kaiser between yawns, who yelps and goes to hide behind a cabin to avoid the sludge, completely stopping firing back.
Seeing the fish monster distracted you decided to take your chance, whistling again to call your hounds to attack the monster, you break into a run towards him.
Once he notices your charge, he changes towards you, but you are able to avoid the sludge shoot and get right up on him, delivering a solid hook to his chin while your dogs bite him from behind!
"AHHH! Bad dogs! Bad dogs!" He shouts as Cripper and Badger keep biting and scratching at him as you deliver another punch to his face and a knee to his gut!
"Cut it out!" He shouts as grabs Badger and throws him away as he hurls a punch at you, which you duck and back away, getting some distance before he resumes shooting sludge.
You see Homer trying to help, running over towards the monster, but before he can get closer he's hit by a wave of sludge directed at him! This time, he doesn't duck, and is pushed towards his flipped car, impacting it. The sludge solidifies before Homer can get away, trapping him in place. Your son struggles to break free, and though the Sludge shows cracks here and there, Homer can't get out!
Seeing his chance, The fish monster runs towards you and before you can react punches you hard in the gut, losing strength in your knees you can't help but fall on all fours as you gasp for air.
Badger growls at the monster seeing you hurt and rushes towards the monster, but the fishguy just looks at him and shoots another glob of acidic sludge, hitting the hound and making him howl in pain as they writhe on the ground.
"You bastard! Those… are my…dogs!" You shout at him as you gasp between gasps, not able to do much else.
"Aww, and what are you gonna do about it, old man?" The monster taunts you, as Kaiser runs to help, but this time his spray of magic zombie bullets have almost no effect, the guy taking them as if they were nothing.
Growling annoyed at his magic trick not working, Kaiser goes to punch the fishman, and they begin trading blows. Unfortunately, Kaiser doesn't seem able to land a punch strong enough to make the fishman flinch, and in exchange is unaffected by the monster's s.
Fat Tony manages to get up again, but he looks battered, his face sporting burns and body swaying like he'll fall over after another hit. Still he gets up, drawing his blade as he stares at the fishman, gaze full of hate. Noticing this, the monster fires another shot of sludge, but Fat Tony manages to side step it and runs towards him, ready to stab!
The Monster grabs Kaiser Willhelm II by his short arm, and throws him at the italian, who has no choice but to drop to the ground to avoid the flying zombie projectile.
"Seriously *Yawn* you guys don't know when to quit!" The freaky fish guy complains while yawning as he looks at you, throat bulging as he fires another round of sludge at you. you manage to roll out of the way, but you can feel how your body aches with the movement; you know you can't take more punishment like this.
"You abused innocent kids and forced them to work in a sweatshop! Like hell we'll stop!" Fat Tony shouts, anger laced on his voice, as he slowly gets back up on his feet.
"Wait, they were doing what again to my kids?!!!" Homer shouts. In the distance, he spots Bart and Lisa, having fled with the rest of the children after the fighting started. Looking at his children for the first time in months, he spots their collars and sees blood.
Furious, he renews his struggles to get free. "Once I get my hands on you IM GONNA TURN YOU INTO CHUM YOU LITTLE FISH MONSTER!!!"
"I can't wait to see you guys try!" He says as he yawns once more. "I've been *Yawn* mopping the floor with you!"
The Finale's Turn
The Finale will shoot Gill.

As if tempting fate, another dart hits the monster again. The fish monster wobbles as he takes out the dart,
"Okey…tha..that's it! Once I'm done with you geezerss…whoever is doing that iz next!" The fish monster shouts, as the effects of the darts keep kicking in. You guess if you can stall long enough, another shot or two would put him under.
You just needed to last long enough.
"Ahhhhh!!!" The monster shouts as he runs towards Homer and begins punching him in the face! Your son is still trapped, there's no way he can defend himself!
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Is that-Ow-All you got?!" Homer taunts as he keeps getting hit over and over on his face, but takes the hits like champ! "I'M GONNA GIVE YOU DOUBLE THIS FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY KIDS!"
"You be quiet!" He says, lobbing a blob of acid on your son's face, causing Homer to howl in pain as the acid burns his face.
"I had a good thing going before you showed up! Black stole the collars, Whiteman's goons scared the kids, and all I needed to do was watch the lake! We would've sent the kids back after we met our quota in russia, but now that's thrown to shit!" The hulking figure bends over, face to ear with your still screaming son. "So take a good look at those shit-for-brains twerps you got, because it's the last one you get before i put everyone here in a closed fucking casket!"
"Hey fish freak! Why don't you pick someone who can fight back!?!" You say as you run and jump on his back, laying hit after hit on his head. The monster sways a little, but he quickly grabs you by the arms and throws you away.
Fat Tony tries to distract Gill, lunging as he goes to stab him one more time, but Gill catches the attack and answers back with another haymaker, making the Italian drop to the ground once more.
"Seriously, how many times *yawn* you guys…are gonna…get u*aaawwhhh*p?" He mutters as he shakes his head, trying to stay awake.
"I…I havent… heard…no bell!" Fat Tony shouts as he gets up once more, he looks almost on the brink of unconsciousness, or worse.
"Well tell me if you hear this!" The fish monster shouts as he readies punch after punch towards his face, but this time Fat Tony is ready and starts guarding, withstanding the blows as best as he can.
As the fish monster is focused on the italian, Homer has the chance to finally break free from the sludge keeping him stuck on the car. Almost sick wit, he runs towards the fish guy and delivers a drop kick right on his back!
The monster stumbles, the hit causing more damage than expected. He turns around and stares at Homer who is quickly getting up. "Oh you little…" He mutters as his throat bulges, sludge ready to be fired.
But Homer is ready this time, reacting quickly, he launches a punch towards the throat of the monster, making him choke on the sludge, leaving an opening for Homer to pounce him and give him a beating!
"Take this you monster, and this! and this!" Homer shouts, choking the monster with one hand and punching him in the face with the other! This goes for almost a minute before the monster roars and throws homer off him.
Getting up unsteadily, the fish guy looks at you and with a look full of anger tries to fire of another sludge wave towards your son, but the moment he opens his mouth, Kaiser quickly fires a shot that lands directly on his open mouth, causing the monster to choke once again.
Fat Tony tries to use this chance to stab the guy one more time but the Fishman just ducks under the swing and throws Fat Tony to the ground on his way to you!
You aren't able to react before the guy grabs you by the neck and begins choking you, as you struggle in his grasp, unable to do much.
"I..won't lose!" He says as he fights to stay awake, you feel his grip weakening, letting you pry his hands open to breathe again.
You punch him in the face one more time as he stumbles back. "Go to hell you freaky fish guy!"
"Nevaaah!!!" He shouts in defiance…and at that second another dart hits him in the neck…
All of you can only stare at the monster who stays quiet for a few seconds, hoping that that was enough…and you sigh in relief once the monster falls on his face, snoring coming out of him.
"Please tell me it's over…" Fat Tony says, body falling to the ground, unable to keep standing more.
"I zhink zo?" Kaiser comments as he walks over to the fish and pokes him with his foot, no reaction comes from the monster aside from more snoring.
"Finally…good riddance." You says as you crack your back, stiffness appearing all over your body.
"Grandpa!!!" You hear Bart and Lisa shout as they run towards you. "Are you guys okay?" Lisa asks concerned.
"Yeah…yes we are." You say with a sigh, your body feeling like it went through another war just now.
"Kids!!!" Homer shouts as he goes to hug Lisa and Bart! "Oh I'm so glad to see you!!!"
"Dad!!!" Bart shouts as the kids return the hug. You just stare as your son and grandchildren start talking with each other. Slowly, the darkness of the night goes away and the sun rises, its warmth appearing all caressing your body as you can feel all the tension in your bones just go away.
"Finally… it's time to go home." You mutter to yourself, ready to put this place behind you.
Adventure Finished!
Congratulations!!!
You managed to rescue your grandchildren alongside all the other kids trapped here!
You managed to dismantle Mr. Black and Gill's operation! Looking through the remaining cabins, you found all the money that Mr. Black had managed to obtain. +2 income gained!
You managed to capture Sergeant Whiteman and Mr. Black! They will spend a long time in Springfield Prison…if they manage to last that long!
For all the fighting you guys did during this quest, Abe, Fat Tony and Kaiser gain +1 point in Martial!
You have managed to capture the Fish mutant cape Gill! Decide what to do with him:
[ ] Keep Him imprisoned in Springfield Prison, he is your responsibility to deal with (If you decide this, you guys need to upgrade your prison next turn, otherwise Gill WILL escape! Choosing to keep Gill will open an Action for Frink to Study Gill, allowing to learn more about mutations!).
[ ] Give him away to the government and the appropriate authorities, he is too much of a hassle to handle (You let the government deal with him, he is no longer your problem).
Fat Tony's opinion increases by 10!
On the way back to the Power Plant, Fat Tony asked you for a favor. He wanted to keep the operation's that Mr. Black had, they had some potential, just needed to be…more clean, according to him. There was a chance to make the operations worthy to you and his mafia once the criminal organization is rebuilt.
You choose:
[ ] Tell him no, this place was horrible and you wouldn't let no criminal act occur here no more!!! (You tell Fat Tony no, He looks annoyed and pouts all the way back, ???).
[ ] Tell him yes, its a good opportunity to make something worthwhile from what Mr. Black was doing. (Unlock Mafia National Action to reopen the Sweat shop operations, this time under you and Fat Tony's command).

Well I at least the sweer shop will be under our control.
Fat Tony has big plans for the future and he will start to look elsewhere to opportunities to rebuild his criminal empire if he's denied this and we will not have control over him.

Imma let those with more familiarity about our responsibilities and actions choose what to do.
Man that was sure a slugfest. Really felt like a gritty throwdown with everyone just getting back up to get whaled on or whale on the other said some more. And that despite Gill being more of a mudskip or something than a whale.
That nat 100 for Gill defending with the car sure was something.
Mayor Joseph Fitzgerald O'Malley Fitzpatrick O'Donnell Quimby (better known as Diamond Joe or just Quimby) liked to think he was a simple man, who enjoyed simple pleasures.
He enjoyed the same things any man would: Wealth, women, a fine meal.
He had to admit, he was so far pretty unaffected by the changes going around Springfield. Burns was a significant loss in his donations pool, but he wasn't exactly worried. It had been awhile, but he was the mayor at the end of the day. If that old guy who took over from Burns wanted the same level of freedom, he would have to come through him sooner or later. It was only a matter of time.
As if to prove his point, an old fellow with an impressive beard made his way in without even bothering to knock. Normally this would annoy Quimby, but any complaints died in his throat when he saw the briefcase full of money in the geezer's hand.
Just as he expected. He chuckled and reached for it, but his hand was promptly hit with a cane.
"Not yet, sonny. We gotta talk business first." The elder (you think you recall him now... starts with a J…) said firmly. You scowled but nod.
"Fine, Johnny-"
"Jasper."
"-Jackson, what do you wish to discuss?"
The bearded elder glared for a moment but moved on.
"As you are well aware, my good buddy Abe has recently come into money and Power. He wants to use this money and Power to improve Springfield, and has been doing so. But he's just a business owner. A very powerful one, yes, but a business owner nonetheless. There is things he can't do without going through you."
"Correct." You nod along, wishing he would get to the point so you could take the bribe already.
"So, he is going to give you this money. On a few conditions." Jasper explained.
"This bribe has alot more steps than usual.. go on." Quimby grumbled, irritated but willing to hear this out if it added to his bank account.
"One, you don't fight Abe on anything he does. If he goes overboard, he has his checks and balances to keep him in check, you don't gotta get involved. Two, you will help properly maintain any improvements he makes. He can't be everywhere with eyes on the fixes he made at all times. Three, if he asks for help with something, you will give it. No exceptions. Deal?" Jasper layed out the terms.
Quimby sighed, thinking it over. The first and third things definitely seemed like they could easily backfire on him, and the second thing sounded like A LOT of work. He took another look at the suitcase full of money.
…Yeah, it wasn't really a choice. What could this old geezer really need that could cause him much issues anyways?
"Deal." He nods.
Jasper nodded back and handed over the suitcase and started to leave.
Quimby opened it up and almost choked on the Duff he had grabbed a bit beforehand. This was a ludicrous amount of money! Even Burns hadn't offered him this much.
He NEEDED to stay in Abe's good graces.
"Wait!" Quimby shouted. Jasper looked annoyed and turned back, his age having stopped him from leaving as fast he would have liked.
"What is it?"
"As a further reward for your… generous donation, I feel it necessary to help you out a bit more. I have been a politician for a long time, as has my bloodline before me. I have many connections. Connections I would like to help extend to you." Quimby gave his best winning smile.
Jasper raised an eyebrow. He sees right through Quimby, he doesn't trust him as far as he can throw him, but he figures he's most likely trying to butter them up for further donations in the future. There aren't really plans to give him anymore money unless absolutely necessary, but he doesn't need to know that.
"Oh?"
"Indeed, my bearded friend. In fact, did you know a Senator has been trying to come here for weeks now? He could be quite useful to get in your pocket."
"...Why don't you just tell him where we are if he's been searching for that long?"
"He didn't ask."
Jasper gives Quimby a flat expression, but figures it didn't matter much. This supposed Senator would find them soon enough, most likely.
"Though that's just the most notable example. I can get you into contact with a great many political allies." Quimby nodded.
"Make it so." Jasper said bluntly, continuing on.
"So we can expect further.. discussions like this one in the future?" Quimby smiled.
"Maybe." Jasper said noncommittally before being gone.
Quimby smirked. Good enough for him!
Meanwhile, A tall muscular man with a mustache and a nice suit enters Springfield.
"Finally. Here at least. Time to-" he began.
"Uh, who are you?" A man with Texan drawl asked. The suited musclebound man looked around and noticed he had, once again, went to the wrong location.
"...GOD DAMN IT-!"
REWARD: You have successfully bribed Mayor Quimby! You have pretty much free range over Springfield! You have unlocked an extra free action that can only be used To do something directly related to Springfield! Quimby is willing to put you into contact with many fellow politicians, most notably a mysterious senator!
You were Lena De Spell, and you were in a bad mood.
Granted, it's not like your life had been rainbows and sunshine lately.
You gave up everything for your Aunt, your friendships, your comfort… uh.. some third thing! And what did it get you?
A one way ticket to homelessness and then the slammer.
You grunted as you fluffed your pillow again. It was pointless, but it was better than sitting around doing nothing.
You could probably escape at any time, but then what? Live the rest of your life on the run? Bah. There was no good options here.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"You have a visitor."
Your blood ran cold. A visitor? You didn't know anyone who would want to visit you who was also still aware you were around…
It… it couldn't be her, could it…?
You reluctantly get up. Best not keep her waiting if it is…
Xxx
You were Ned Flanders, and you were a tad reluctant to come here. You didn't like the sound of "a duck girl with mysterious powers".
But your new boss was going away for a bit and he said she was young, so your sense of compassion won out in the end.
Besides, it was best to check out for himself if she went against the Good Lord's name before jumping to conclusions. Didn't want to be improper!
The girl stepped out and sat at a table across from you. She immediately looked a mix between relieved and surprised.
"Uhhh… dude, who are you?" She squinted at you.
"Hi Ho diddly, duck girl! Pleased to meet ya! I am Ned, Ned Flanders!" You smiled gently, offering a handshake. A strangely nostalgic look plastered her face for a moment (proceeded by a confused frown at the term "duck girl") before she shook it off.
"....Lena. name's Lena." She said simply.
"That's a lovely name! Want a sandwich?" You offered. She stared for a moment before taking it. She looked at you a bit before reluctantly taking a bite… and then scarfing the whole thing down.
"Whoa! Careful there kiddo! Don't want to choke now!" You said worriedly.
"Uh, right, yeah. It was ok." The duck tried to regain her composure, but it was hard with the crumbs on her face and sweater.
A moment of awkward silence filled the space between them.
"Sooooooo… Why were you stealing doughnuts anyways? Don't you have someone taking care of you?"
Lena snorted at that, and you felt uncomfortable.
"Ha, I wish, man. I kind of had my aunt, but she was just using me. Once she got what she needed, it was off to fend for myself. It's funny, in a pathetic sort of way. A part of me genuinely believed if… if I got her what she wanted, if I was a success, she would love me. Ha. What a joke." Lena said, starting to laugh near the end while also breaking into tears.
You stare at her, your brow knitting in concern.
"Ugh. Whatever. Sorry to dump my sob story on you, man. I'm not your kid." Lena wiped her tears.
"That may be true, but the Lord preaches compassion and empathy. I can't say I one hundred percent support stealing but… sometimes I suppose life is more morally grey than I would like it to be. You seem to have gone through a lot. But life and the Lord puts us through tough situations for a reason. That reason may not always be clear, but it's there. I like to think we have been made stronger by our hardships. I hope you will find said strength and, by golly, turn your life around! I know I'm rooting for you." You smiled sincerely. She stared at you and you can tell she's mulling over your words at least, even if she's not fully convinced.
"....Thanks, guy. I guess it's nice someone cares." Lena murmured.
"I tend to find that that to be the case, by diddly!"
"What did you visit me for anyways? I doubt it was just to give me a bunch of sandwiches and a pep talk." Lena stated, munching on another sandwich. You didn't remember giving her that… eh, must have forgotten in your speechifying.
"Well, if you promise to not steal anymore… my boss was hoping to bail you out. Mr. Simpson sees something in you." you explain.
Lena's face sours and you get the feeling she had been told the name of the person who got her arrested.
"Ah phooey… Fine, but I want more sandwiches." She said simply.
"I believe that could be arranged, little Missy." you smiled.
And so you filled out the paperwork and escorted her off the premises.
Surely this couldn't go wrong… right?
REWARD: You have recruited Lena De Spell as a Hero Unit! She doesn't quite fully trust or like you, but it's better than juvie.
[X] Keep Him imprisoned in Springfield Prison, he is your responsibility to deal with (If you decide this, you guys need to upgrade your prison next turn, otherwise Gill WILL escape! Choosing to keep Gill will open an Action for Frink to Study Gill, allowing to learn more about mutations!).
That´ll throw our prelimenary plans for next turn, but I expect some synergy with Frinks already-done research into NUCLEAR Mutants, so it should work out in the end
[X] Tell him yes, its a good opportunity to make something worthwhile from what Mr. Black was doing. (Unlock Mafia National Action to reopen the Sweat shop operations, this time under you and Fat Tony's command).
I mean, we already were planning on doing a shit-ton of Mafia actions next turn to throw FT a bone after we kinda did shaft him during the Adventure by refusing his revenge and dragging our feet a bit about rescuing Michael - that and I actually trust him enough to keep our iteration of the sweatshop a few notches *above* previous horrid practice, even if for no other reason than child labour simply being more trouble than it´s worth.
But daaaamn if Gill didn´t make us pay dearly for eeking out a win here - that and our rolls just plain *sucked*
if not for Finale, we might not have made it as relatively cleanly as we did.
Aside from that, wow, is Homer an all-around BADASS stats-wise, but his two negative traits ("Box of Donuts" and "Lucky Fatass") will make him really tricky to use well once we gain access to him as an Operative - especially the former essentially makes him only effective 8 times outta 10 when working on NAs, while the latter has a change to backfiring horribly if we roll badly during the retry
