A Hellfish flys again! ( a Simpsons X DVV CK2 Quest)

Hmmm, Shego would have a vested interest in making sure the prisons in the area wouldn't be able to hold super villains. Especially if it's already pretty hard. We might be the only game in town when it comes to that.

Maybe we can leverage a super prison into more income? Or favors from neighboring Kings? There's possibilities here....

EDIT: And if whoever ends up in supermax jail happens to be useful to us, or just not a bad person, we might be able to swing a "parole" for them! Along with a new job!

Also, it'll be nice to have a place we can dump Burns into that he can't escape from! Assuming we don't kill him.

Or he just keels over. The thing making sure Springfielders don't die is gone. Burns is ancient, geriatric and one of his actions last turn was raiding places for meds. He might actually be running on borrowed time. We still need to stop him from doing whatever he's planning but we might not have to wait to long after that.

And not just Burns; a prison capable of holding prisoners for more than a minute means that if we ever catch any of his minions we can all but take them off the board!

Grimes Jr is a prison escapee to start with so we wouldn't even need to make up a reason to throw him back in there, and I have strong doubts that any of his other minions (with the possible exception of Smithers) will have squeaky clean records either.

Not to mention Bob and anyone else who comes to Springfield looking to start shit.

Counter point: our town has a zombie problem. He might come back as (more of) an undead monster.

EDIT: Who are we gonna put on that, by the way? Frink will be busy, and I don't know if Ned is up to that particular task.
Assuming you mean upgrading the prison, I mentioned a couple pages ago (and in the discord) that my current plan has Wilhelm on there. His stewardship is good, and if he is there Glee has said he may put the +20 omake bonus he got for Old Man WIlhelm on it, which would result in a +50 modifier for the roll. If the DC doesn't drop next turn, that would mean we'd only need to roll a 10 to pass

No, I was talking about the zombie thing. That seems like something we should get on top of.

Ah my bad. Well it's an occult action and we do have that shiny new occult heroine. The problem is it's DC 80 and without any bonuses our modifier with Lena on it would be +22. Now, there are a few occult action omake bonuses available that could be put on there, but it could still take us a couple turns to accomplish unless we get lucky.

Honestly at this point I've been convinced that we should get started on it sooner than later and will make it the occult action in my plan when the next turn starts. We really need to either get Abe an occult score or unlock the occult position at some point because with his 0 we're basically limited to the score of whichever unit we put on there to accomplish anything.

Someone with talent start writing occult omakes!

I mean, Lena could use a proper teacher. Not like we can't still do that.

...We could put Jasper on finding other occult units. The DC is only 25 and someone (I think Nightmaster) has a +10 to that action specifically, so we'd only need a 15 or higher to do it.

...Sorry Herb, looks like it'll be a minute before we start shoveling money your way!

Better idea: Have Mona do it. She's pretty capable, plus Burns will either be laying low or done for here soon. Then she can focus on that!

I think recruiting occult hero still a option don't worry. Plus while the omake reward information hasn't been updated believe still have a plus 10 for finding magically incline action.

If remember right used a different occult omake reward last turn to the action so this reward one those not yet used.... I think we might need a go over on the omakes and rewards.
Oh sorry, missed it

Non Canon unfortunately

Either +10 to Magically Inclined People recruitment action or a +10 to recruitment actions in general

Investing in Powell motors is a Stewardship action so if we use our free Springfield action on the prison we could still invest in his company. I'd personally prefer to get the Plant up to code but whatever.

The problem is Searching for magic inclined people is currently a Occult action which we only have one action in. Which mean we can either look up Necromancy or recruit a spellcaster(or theoretically something else) next turn.

My idea is that because the action Jasper is assigned to is counted as a "bonus" action, so if we assigned him to it we would then be able to assign Lena to researching necromancy and (hopefully) get them both done in one fell swoop!

I'm honestly joking (like 99% anyway), but it would be an amusing way to get both actions done quicker.

Knowing Springfield it's just going to be a regular prison with a "No supervillains past this point" sign at the exit. I mean that as a joke but even a regular prison that's not held together by duct tape, cardboard and well wishes would be an improvement over what's there now.
Yeah. I mean, honestly, Gill's strong and tough and has a nasty close combat option with that acidic slime, sure. But a bunch of klutzy old weirdos were able to throw hands with him and survive with only minor injuries.

It sounds like guards with assault rifles could stop him, and he can't bust through a foot-thick concrete wall. The trouble is just that Springfield Prison, being Springfield Prison, is probably riddled with security holes and "we just did not think this shit through" points where someone with even very limited superpowers could bust out fairly easily.

Burns of the Third Degree…
Burns of the Third Degree…

Mona Penelope Olsen-Simpson is a woman on a mission, that mission is to investigate the whereabouts of one of the most vile, mean, petty and evil persons that she had the displeasure to meet…Charles Montgomery Burns.

After last time she found out where he was hiding, Abe entrusted her once more to repeat the job and hopefully this time, put the snake behind bars, right where he belongs!

…Unfortunately, she hasn't been successful on her endeavor so far, no matter where she looks, she can't find any more traces of that sleazebag anywhere, it's like he found a literal hole to hide and hasn't left it since then!

Frustrated from days of searching without bearing any fruits, Mona decided to take a break and focus on one of her favorite hobbies, clean the parks of trash. Picking up the trash that other people were too lazy to leave fills her with a sense of satisfaction, knowing she is still doing her job of helping the environment.

"It's like people never change…" She sighs as she picks up another chocolate wrapper with her trash pickup stick and places it inside an eco-friendly bag. "Is it that hard to walk a few steps to put trash in the bin?" She shakes her head as she walks over to some bushes, where she sees a few plastic bottles just laying there.

She had arrived in the local park almost an hour ago and she had picked up enough trash to fill up 2 bags already! Mona couldn't believe how irresponsible the citizens of Springfield were!

As she puts the stick inside the bush, checking for more trash, she is surprised to hear the stick land and make a loud metallic clang, instead of the soft thump sound of when one hits the earth.

"What is this?" Mona mutters in a curious tone, as she keeps inserting the stick, and the same sound keeps being made.

Narrowing her eyes, she takes a look inside the bush and is surprised when she sees a metal gate on the ground! It's one of those that needs to spin a valve to open, it looks all rusted and worn out, as it has never received proper maintenance.

Mona feels the hairs of the back of her neck stand up when she sees the gate, taking a look around to make sure there is no one else in the park, she kneels and proceeds to open the gate.
Once she manages to open the rusted thing, she finds some rusted stairs that seems to lead down to the depths of the earth, looking down at the hole, Mona isn't capable of seeing where the hole ends.

dropping the stick and reaching for her bag, Mona retrieves a flashlight pen she carries around, turning it on and holding it with her mouth, she starts to climb down the stairs, determined to get to the bottom of this.

The stairs are only a dozen or so steps long, but the lack of illumination because of the bushes covering the entrance, with only the light from her flashlight makes it somewhat hard for Mona to climb down without missing a step.

Eventually Mona finally reaches the bottom, and with the light from the flashlight she can see that she is in a sort of circular chamber, the walls all rusted and having lost whatever color the may have, several metal and cardboard boxes are piled up in one side of the wall, all opened up now, whatever they may have contained a mystery that she may never find out.

But what catches Mona's attention the most is in front of the stairs. It's a vault gate that is half open! Mona can see light coming from the other side of the room, but before she can even take a step towards it, she hears someone talk.

"-sure they won't find us this time?" A nasal voice asks, sounding between irritated and worried. As Mona inches closer to the door, making sure not to make any noise, she hears another voice that makes her gasp.

"Do not worry my four eyed comrade." An even more sleazy voice answers back, Mona recognized the voice in an instant, it was Burns'!

She had found his new hiding place! She had to inform Abe as soon as possible! Her instincts told her to get out of there as soon as possible, but another part of her mind told her to stay, it was a prime chance to learn more abut what Burns was planning. She couldn't let this chance go to waste.

"I had this bunker built decades ago right after I opened my Power Plant, it was made to hide in case if the worst case scenarios I could face… I never documented its existence anywhere, only the people present here on this room know of its existence." Burns monologues with his annoying and smug voice. "We are as safe as we can be."

Tiptoeing the most silently she has ever done in her life, Mona managed to walk up to the door, and managed to peek through the door opening.

She saw a barely lit room, only a ceiling light shining its brightness over the darkness of the room. Inside there was one of those tables that you would see for business meetings, with several comfy chairs surrounding it, there were currently 5 people sitting on those chairs.

Burns and his attendant Smither were there, currently sitting together in a way that they were showing their backs to her. To the right of Burns was sitting the man she encountered the other night, Frank Grimes Jr!

In front of Burns were two other men sitting, one was a young man with thick, wavy black hair that is styled in a side-parted manner. He had small and round eyes and thick, square framed glasses that gave him somewhat of a nerdy look. He was currently crossing his arms as he continued tapping one of his fingers against his arm.

The last person sitting at the table gave you pause, you recognized him from the news as well as the stories that your grandson told you. It was Sideshow Bob! Wearing a huge hat that somehow was able to hide his prominent hair and a brown trenchcoat, as if he was acting as some sort of spy.

"You better be telling the truth, when I decided to join you, I never expected to be forced to hide and skulk like a rat all the time!" The nerdy looking guy commented as he looked to the side.

"Can you please stop complaining? You have repeated the same thing this whole time" The gruff voice of Frank Grimes Jr sounds out as he points a finger at the nerdy guy. "You knew the stakes when you decided to join, I'm not going to let you screw up my chances for my revenge." He snarls as his fist hits the table.

"Hey, don't get pissy with me! I'm no longer interested on Marge, but I still want some payback for Homer putting me in Prison! You can count on me to not mess things up" He shoots back as he stares nonplussed at the guy who had attempted to murder your son. "The guy we should be worried about is the clown over here! He might go for a hissy fit and attempt to go off the rails.." He adds as he points with his thumb towards Sideshow Bob, who looks annoyed.

"Please Mr. Ziff, I would prefer if you didn't think so low of me." Sideshow Bob says as he crosses his legs and mades a triangle figure with his hands. "I promised the night you guys rescue me out of prison, didn't I? I will follow along with whatever plans Mr. Burns has to get his revenge…" He then narrows his eyes as he directs his glares towards Burns and Smithers. "...As long as you deliver Bart Simpson to me, and guarantee me a free ride back to my family in Italy." He finishes with a tone that left no room for counter arguments.

"Don't worry Bob, I shall keep my part of the deal." Burns says with one of the biggest smug and annoying tones you have ever heard. "Gentlemen! I know most of us may not see eye to eye, but that does not matter!" The corporative greedy snake says as he pounds his fist on the table…which fails to make any impact or shake the table.

Burns gives Smithers a side glare and the attendant pounds his fist on the table, making the appropriate sound. Satisfied, Burns continues.

"We all share a common enemy! The Simpsons! That family has been a blight in our lives for one reason or another, interfering with my-OUR happiness!" Burns continues as he stands up, showing his back to Mona as he looks at the members on the table…except Smithers, his words carry an intensity you have never seen before from him.

"Family members of that blasted family have crossed paths with us and slighted us in ways that can't be fixed! Some may just be content with forgive and forget but not us!" He says with an intensity, each word emanating hate and contempt palpable enough to make Mon uncomfortable.

You see as both the nerdy looking guy and Sideshow Bob nod, agreeing with what Burns is saying, and while you can't see the expression of Frank Grimes Jr, the tightening of his fist makes it clear what he is thinking.

"As I said before…help me get back my company and achieve my revenge against Abraham Simpson and in exchange I will help each and every one of you achieve your revenge!" Burns says with a swipe of his arm. "Once we have obtained our revenge, we will be free to seize our destiny!" Burns adds as he sits down again.

"Alone the Simpsons have proven to be too much for us, but together as the Burn's 6…we will be unstoppable!" Burns finishes as he stares at Smithers with an expecting look. Smithers sighs and then starts letting an evil laugh.

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Burns has a satisfied look on his face as he hears his attendant release that over the top laugh.

Sideshow Bob shares glances with the glasses guy, who sighs and puts his hands up in a "Surrender" motion. "Fine! I will stop complaining then, but seriously! Will we ever get on with this revenge of yours? We have been spending the last few months just hiding away and collecting Medicine for you, what's the big plan here?" He asks, with an expecting look on his face.

Mona couldn't believe what she was hearing, were this people really gonna band together just to get vengeance on her family? What have they done to receive such animosity?!

"Patience Artie." Burns says in a placating tone as he raises a hand. "I admit it has been taking longer than what I expected, but our patience will surely be rewarded."
"As you may have seen, that fool Abraham has been spending my hard earned money on the City, fixing the damage from that Stupid Dome and other stupid things." Burns explains with a tone of disgust, he makes a gagging sound. "I can't believe he would treat my Power Plant this way, the buffon doesn't know the first thing to direct a business!"

"The citizens of Springfield have taken a liking to Abe…one that we must squash! If Abe wants to gain the respect and adoration of the common folk, then we should make him earn their ire!

"We shall squash his public opinion! Force him to make a fool of himself and if needed, make sure that he brings the Power Plant to the ground!" Burns continues explaining his plan. "Once the citizens realize that the idiot should not be leading the company, they will beg for me to take my rightful place! The fool won't be able to handle the pressure and give me back my Power Plant. It's the perfect plan!"

Mona couldn't tell if Burns was serious, she didn't know how effective that plan would be, Abe wasn't a man that would fold easily to what other people think…right?

"And in that regard, all of you, give me a status report! Have you all accomplished your tasks?" Burns questions as he reclines in his chair, giving an expectant look to the 3 men sitting in front of him.

The man named Artie just folds his arms. "Well…I stayed all this time here…because someone forgot to give me a task and forbade me from exiting the bunker!" He explains with an annoyed look.

"I had no tasks that required your skillset, Artie." "But you did need my credit card for your expenses." "Moving on, Grimes Jr, what can you tell me?"

"Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky this time." Frank Grimes Jr comments with an annoyed tone. "I sent some feelers, trying to see if there were more people with a vendetta against Homer or another Simpson…I found nothing. It's just us apparently."

"Blast it! Burns curses as he stomps his hand on the table…doing absolutely nothing. "I refuse to believe that the damned family hasn't made more enemies. They are out there, waiting for someone, for us! To call them so they gather under our banner. We shall keep looking for allies that support our cause!"

"Very well…I shall try again in a few days." The man who tried to kill her son answered back.

"Excellent, I expect better results next time." Burns says, leaving no room for argument as he looks at the next person on the table. "Bob…have you managed to find our famous Clown?"

"Oh yes… I have found him." Sideshow Bob comments as he twirls one strand of hair. "I'm an old hand at dealing with clowns. You wouldn't believe where he is." He adds with a smirk.

"Oh and where would he be? That clown is my ticket to regain some of my fortune…I must secure him as soon as possible." Burns say, Mona couldn't see him but she was sure he was rubbing his hands greedily.

"Here in Springfield."

"Wait what?!" Artie shouts surprised. "You telling me the most wanted clown in the U.S is right here?!"

"Yup, he is currently hiding on the Junkyard, making the place his home, guy looks terrified even of his own shadow."

"Excellent! Go capture him immediately! It won't be long before more people find him, we must capture him first and bring him to Syndrome so he may reward us!"

Burns then continues, this time with a more gleeful tone. "And from my part, I will gladly tell you Gentlemen that we have made great strides towards our plan."

"Our missing Associate, Miss Botscowski, managed to infiltrate the Power Plant this last month!"

QM note:...Not gonna lie, not much to say here except this:
…FUCK!!!

"Her mission was a simple one, get a job inside the place, and find potential places to sabotage, what can be easily messed with and how best to exploit it for our gain!"

"And I must say, she had complete success on the endeavor! She managed to get a job in the power Plant and incorporate herself deep into the organization! She has found people that share animosity with Abraham…the idiot forced them to run through an obstacle course, like monkeys in a maze, can you believe that?" Burns shakes his head, laughing to himself.

"The Power Plant is open to us to interfere with as we wish! We will make sure that the Power Plant ends up as a laughing stock! Once people see how inept Abe is at managing it, that's when I shall appear!" Burns cackles happily as a few of the members laugh too, caught in the atmosphere.

"Our professional thief has managed to gather allies in key positions in the company that keep us informed of Abe's movements, she has even compromised his stupid Pigeon Network! Anything he does or knows, we shall be aware and prepare accordingly!" Burns gloats happily.

"That means they won't find us again?" Artie comments, wanting to be sure.

"Exactly! She told me that Abe asked the blasted Mona Simpsons to look for me again, but she made sure to tell me that she had men following her, and will inform me if she was even close to finding this hideout!" Burns informs the rest of his party. "Even if Abe found out about this, he won't be able to get rid of Bots! Her roots have been firmly planted on the Power Plant!!!

Just then a cell phone starts ringing, Burns looks to his left, towards Smithers, and he retrieves a phone and offers it to Burns, who grumpily takes it and answers it.

"I told you not to call me during a meeting!" Burns says as he listens to what the person on the other side has to say. "Wait what?! You are serious? Mona managed to find us? Why am I just hearing about this?!" He shouts, boiling with anger as he continues listening to what the other person has to say.

"Your guys were on a coffee break?! Are you kidding me!?" Burns closes the phone and turns to the rest of the men gathered. "Mona has been listening to us this whole time, catch her!"

Unfortunately for Burns, he nor his minions would find Mona hidden behind the gate… The moment she heard that people were keeping an eye on her, she decided to retreat, not willing to risk being caught.

She had to inform Abe of what she had just learned. Burns was stepping up his game and they needed to respond in kind.

As she exited the park and returned home, making sure to lose the tail she just noticed had been following her, she hoped Abe would be able to deal with that snake Burns.

Results:

You have learned that Burns has formed The Burns 6, a group consisting of members with a grudge against Abe and his family, currently the members are:

Artie Ziff
Sideshow Bob
Frank Grimes jr.
Smithers
And a Mysterious Thief named Botscowski.

Currently Burns is focused on recruiting more members with a grudge against the Simpsons. He will attempt to recruit again next turn.

You have also managed to learn that Burns has found the Birthday bandit and is planning to capture him next turn and deliver him to Syndrome to cash in the reward.

Most importantly you have learned of Burns' plan against Abe, he plans to ruin Abe's relationship with the citizens of Springfield, he will attempt several actions to damage your public image until the Relationship Value reaches negative levels, turning them against Abe.

The most urgent thing is that apparently your Company has been infiltrated thoroughly by one of Burns' agents, you have serious security leaks that you aren't sure will be able to fix easily.

Until you manage to dig out Botscowski, assume that Burns will be aware of any National Action Abe attempts to do, as well as any aggressive movement against Burns, giving him a chance to prepare accordingly.

Anything Abe learns or does, Burns most certainly will find out. Also, expect Botscowski to attempt to sabotage random National Actions that Abe chooses to do next turn that occur specifically on the Power Plant or are Power Plant related, this will continue until you manage to flush her out from the Power Plant.

Unlocked an Intrigue National Action to flush out spies!!!

Well, fuck. That's certainly not good. At least we know about it now, but what a turnaround from how good I was expecting this interlude to be for us.

We're going to have to completely rehaul any plans we were making to counter this stuff. At least we know where Sideshow Bob is now, that's something at least. And my omake reward was able to prevent Burns from recruiting anyone new for his little cabal. I guess we're going to have to try to get our hands on the Birthday Bandit before Bob can next turn to keep them from getting their hands on that money.

For those who're curious, Butzcowski is almost certainly Lucille Butzcowski, AKA the Babysitter Bandit. Seems we're getting into the deep Simpsons lore now. The sole good thing about who he's assembled so far is that none of them seem to be physical powerhouses, so we have an advantage in terms of martial scores.
