What if, as long as we havent yet flushed out the main spy, every turn we do *as many PowerPlant-related NAs as possibly*?
This way, we essentially flood her pool which *random* plant action to try sabotaging with options and thus reduce the chances for any ONE plant NA to be affected thanks to how proportions work?
And since "Flushing out Spies" itself is a plant action, that way we protect it even more from possibly being sabotaged itself
Basically, we d be loading the deck against Burns for a change^^
The problem is that not every category has actions relating to the power plant so there's a limit to how much we can do that. Also, I feel like if we're taking the "flush out spies" action that's probably the one she's going to sabotage most of the time. Keeping us from upgrading reactor safety would sting, but having us have to keep trying to remove spies is probably the better long term play because the longer that takes the better for her and Burns. We'd probably succeed on it eventually regardless as long as we keep trying, but if she forces it to take an extra turn or two the B6 get extra info that they can use against us

The interlude is saying that she picks one plant action *at random* to sabotage, meaning that by itself "Flushing out Spies" is not at any more risk of being picked probability-wise than any other option - it s all about inverse proportionality ala "the more choices she has, the less likely she is to pick Option X from a purely stochastic standpoint"
And of course not every NA Group got Power Plant stuff - thats why I said "as many as *possible*"

Oh I missed the random part of it. Yeah in that case that might be a good way to do it if we can manage to do one or two in addition to flushing spies.
Of course, another way to do it would be to not take any actions involving the plant, can't sabotage what isn't happening after all, but I can't imagine we would ever do that in any seriousness.
Hm, since not taking any power plant options at all is simply not viable, it will have to be the opposite direction, taking as many options simultaneously as is feasible to lower the chances of sabotage where flushing the spies is concerned.
Unpleasant and unexpected, but no use crying over spilled milk and all that. All that can be done is to grit the teeth, get to work, and see it through to the end, regardless of setbacks along the way.
Also can I ask if capturing the birthday bandit will be a martial or an intrigue action? It's fine if you can't tell me, it just may help me figure out what to choose for that reward
Shoot, I was really hoping that it'd be an Intrigue action so we could do the attack on Burns' base and catching BB in the same turn. Now we're going to have to choose one or the other, unless we put Jasper on there instead. I suppose it'll depend on the DCs they have; martial is our best score after all, and Jasper's score is...Okay it's not good, but as long as it's not a contested DC I think we can manage it if we throw a few bonuses on there.
To that end, here's what I'll take for my rewards:
Dealing With The Duke: +10 to a stewardship national of my choice
The Long Road Home: +10 to a national of my choice
The Dirty (Half) Dozen: +10 to Capturing The Birthday Bandit
We have a powerful need for bonuses on various actions, and I feel like catching BB to deny Burns the bounty funds is slightly more important than straight up attacking his base. Ranger has said in the discord that the PD are willing to help a little more now that we have proof that Burns is actively working with criminals (and saved Ralph from the Kamp) so that might give us a similar boost to what they gave on looking into Burns.
Anyone else kind of thinking of putting Finale on capturing BB? I mean, I'm sure he's done bounty hunting during his time as a mercenary (he may have even been well regarded for it given his use of non lethal techniques for taking targets alive!), there may be some synergy there.
Mona will almost certainly go in flushing out spies, maybe we can put Moe or Willie on the other intrigue action? Setting up patrols is literally in Willie's wheelhouse thanks to his peeping Tom trait, and I would bet that it's an action that has it's DC reduced thanks to bribing Quimby.
Yeah, suffice to say I am pretty happy for having taken my mystery box for He remains a Simpsons Man (although I admmittedly misunderstood mine as Bart & Lisa *actively particapating in some roles* instead of us "only" getting a flat Grandpapa Wolf bonus on some rolls because of our grandkids.
Still, was very nice to have and I am pretty sure that it saved our bacon during one or two of our roll contests against Gill
Seymour Skinner and Bart Simpson in: the Bartman and Skinnerman
Seymour Skinner likes to consider himself a lot of things. He likes to think that he's a cool guy… OK he knows he's not cool by the student standards but it's nice to think about that he's cool to the students. But he does care about them after all. Which is why he decides he needs to talk to the most troublemaking student in the entire school and what he considers sort of enemy Bart Simpson.
It's not like you hates the kid far from it. He's a creative kid but he does drive everyone up to the walls with his antics, especially yourself. The first part is out of concern after hearing from the news what happened to some of your students at Kamp Krusty. It does make your blood boil and your heart to hurt to think your students were being treated like sweatshop workers.
The second part is kind of out of some shame what you did to the Young boys family. In hindsight, Maybe getting angry and threatening the child's life and their family with death might've been a tad overboard. You can't technically justify about murder to one of your students family
So sitting at your desk at the rebuilt, Springfield Elementary school, you use the intercom on your desk to connect to Edna's classroom. Would you hear the PA come to life. Thankfully, given to you by Mr. Simpsons after he helped rebuilt the town.
"Miss Krabappel, I would like to talk to one Bart Simpson can you please come down to my office immediately to have a talk once again I would like to say I would like to talk to Bart Simpson in my office."
you click off the intercom on your desk and wait for Bart to come. after a while, you see Bart come into your office. At which you say to him. While gesturing for him to sit down in front of the chair in front of you.
"Ah Bart, can you please sit down so that we have a conversation?"
Which you motion to the seat in front of you for Bart to sit down and what he does and then he looks at you and says quite quickly and try not to look guilty.
" Principal Skinner before you start I would like to say, that's a Jell-O in your desk, wasn't me."
You caulk your eyebrow before wondering what's he talking about at which you decide to open up one of your drawers and see that somehow it's been full of Jell-O. You barely manage to not to scold Bart, but instead, you take a deep breath and say to Simpson well your fingers are holding your nose out frustrated sigh.
" No Bart it's not about that. We are however, going to talk about that later, but not now that's not why I called you here."
You see Bart looks curious about why he's here then and then says to you with a look of confusion says while leaing back on the chair in front of your desk
" if it's not about that then principal Skinner, what is it about?"
You look at Bart with a look of concern and the slight bit of shame and say to him
" I heard about what happened to you and the other kids during the horrible camp. I thought that maybe you wanted to talk about it. I know I'm not a fun guy that I'm not everyone's favorite, but I'm your principal and what happened to you concerned me."
You see Bart just leans back into the chair he's sitting in with a look of nonchalant just says to you
" oh right the camp. I mean it was bad but I'm fine. My dad and grandpa rescue me and that's it I don't really wanna talk about it. Thanks anyway principal Skinner."
You see Barkins to get up but before you do you motion to the continue to sit down and say to him
" I'm not done talking to you yet Simpson I have one more thing to say to you before I go."
You see Bart just shrugged his shoulder and sits back down looks at you saying
" sure anything that gets me out of class longer I'll take it so what do you want to say principal Skinner?"
You take a sigh and look at Bart and just say
" I'm sorry, Bart."
You see Bart looks confused for a bit and cocks his head at you and says
" What are you Sorry about principal Skinner? I don't think you did anything to me recently?"
You take a deep breath and look at Bart and say to him with a remorseful look in your eyes
" I am apologizing for before about my actions when the dome came down. I was not thinking clearly, and everyone was worked up, but that was not an excuse to do what I did."
You see Bart eyes widen a bit and looks at you and says
" oh… it's uh cool principal Skinner. I totally get it. My dad screwed up and everyone was mad and freaking out so I totally get it."
You hold up your hand and look at them still remorsefully and respond back with
"Bart, I'm glad that you don't hold it against me but still what I did was not appropriate in a situation like what happened with the Dome and I'm genuinely sorry Bart."
You see Bart is his eyes are wide looking at you completely surprised at this action and you see him. Adjust himself before looking at you. Responding back to your apology.
" oh…uh… thanks principal Skinner. like I said it's cool. Everyone was freaking out and you needed someone to blame and my dad was technically responsible so I forgive you."
You look at Bart and say to him with some shocking surprise and how he was willing to forgive you adult that try to hurt him when the dome first came down.
" Why..Uh thank you Simpson that's very mature of you. I'm actually… I would like to say something before you you go for real this time."
You see Bart just leans back in the chair and just nods his head giving you the go ahead to say your last words before you let him go. Take a deep breath and look at this promising student and troublemaker, and decide to bury the hatchet with him
"Bart can I tell you something? I think you are a talented kid your creative and smart. But at the same time, I think you would have a bright future in the arts or anything you wanted to do with your skill set. I'm not your enemy Bart. I want you to succeed in life. So I want to help you, Bart let's not have these petty squabbles anymore let's restart."
You see Bart looks at you and gives a smile and says to you as he gets up from his seat and begin walking way to exit your office, turning to face you
" You know principal Skinner maybe you're not as lame as I thought you were."
At which he says this to you, he exits your office and begin walking back to Edna's class which you lean back at your chair, chuckling to yourself
" Guess you are cool after all Seymour. He he."
At which you immediately we decide to put one of your pens away in the what are the drawers for getting that Simpson had filled the cello at which you may contact with. You let out a frustrated sigh mumbling out
" Simpson."
hope you like it like always criticism is welcome. I would very much appreciate it and likes would be great as well. Thank you for reading this.
"Alright, Alright! Settle down guys!" Carl Carlson called the Nuclear Workers Union to order. "We only got one piece of new business today, but it's important, so let's get to it!"
Carl looked out at his fellow nuclear power plant workers while they slowly quieted down. The energy in the room was pretty positive, and had been for the last couple of months. Most people had a smile on their face. .... Which made the the news Carl had all the more unpleasant.
"Now, I think things have been pretty good for all of us lately." Carl began, to the crowds murmured agreement. "But I just got some news from Mr. Flanders. Apparently, that crook Burns is trying to get his greedy little claws back on the power plant!"
"RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!" Yep, there's the commotion he was expecting. Everyone was in an uproar and looking mad. Lenny was going around trying to get everyone to calm down, but it took a few minutes before Carl could continue.
"Apparently, Burns has somebody inside the plant feeding him info, spying on everybody, and planning sabotage! Now, I don't think any of us want things to go back to how they were with Burns in charge. The wage theft, the pay cuts, the pokin us with sticks..." A chorus of grumbling agreement met Carl. "So I want everybody to keep an eye out for anybody acting suspicious or too nosy. Mr. Simpson's been good to us so far, so let's be good to him, too!"
Carl took a moment to gather his thoughts while the crowd was nodding and talking. He was going off script a little bit here, but he honestly didn't think Mr. Flanders or Mr. Simpson would mind too much. Once things quieted down, he spoke again.
"And uh, if whoever this spy is happens to be here tonight, I just want to say this: If you're being threatened by Burns to do this, or he's got something you need, or you got any kinda reason for doing this, just come out and tell us. We're willing to talk things out! Ain't gotta be a whole thing, promise! All right guys, that's about it. Meeting adjourned!" Carl walked off the podium to a round of cheers as he mingled with the other union workers. This union rep job was tough sometimes, but he was glad to have it. Felt good to give back to all these people.
Here's hoping nothing screwed it up.
A/N: My first omake! Nothing fancy. Here's hoping it doesn't suck!
"Mister Simpson, the general is ready to see you now." You hear the (surprisingly young) assistant say as they gesture to the door.
You gave a polite nod before entering the door, not really knowing what to expect or even what kind of toon the general would be.
…Oh, he's a bulldog…a toon bulldog?
"Mr Simpson, I presume?" The Army toon briefly looks up from his paperwork before he gets back to writing and for a moment, you are surprised to see an old pen and bottle of ink next to the pile of documents, that's old school.
"That's right Sir, and I am here on behalf of Springfield to discuss some matters with you."
You say before taking a seat across from the general, Your old Army instincts making you surprisingly uncomfortable near the high ranking officer.
"And what would those matters be?" The general says as he dips his pen in ink. You briefly wonder if it's the same type of ink toons are made out of...toons are made out of ink right? Bah, it doesn't matter; you can always ask later.
"Well for starters, why are you here? The government isn't trying to put someone here to keep an eye on us, are they? Because I doubt they'd send a hotshot general out here to Springfield without a very good reason." You say deciding to just bite the bullet though you suspect the general is going to try and deny your accusation-
"Oh-hohohohoho…is that what they're calling me nowadays?" The general says chuckling slightly as he keeps writing…okay you didn't expect that to be his reaction.
"Um yeah…well that's what Jasper's old army buddies said about you at least."
"And this jasper is a Veteran, is he?" The general says, sounding surprisingly uninterested as he keeps writing almost as if you weren't in the room with him.
" Yeah and he served his country well, he's a man I would of been proud to have in the Hellfish unit."
"....Hellfish?…Ah you're that Abe simpson, the one that tried to kill Hitler during the war."
The general says actually looking up from the paperwork at you.
"Yeah, that was the 2nd time I tried to kill him. Actually, I also tried to kill him during the Olympics…unfortunately I missed both times…" You say as you dredge up old memories and the feelings of shame you felt during them at your failures.
"Unfortunate indeed…but there were a lot of things that were unfortunate in that war, that I believe we both have experience in" The general says solemnly as he puts down his pen and clasps his hands together deep in thought...
"You fought during World War 2 too?'
"Indeed I was placed in charge of the toon battalions, the first of their kind, even became a general on account of my leadership skills with my fellow toons…well that and some politics with none of the other generals wanting to handle the toons, or not being able to deal with them." The general says smiling lightly as he relives old memories before soon shaking his head and asking.
"Apologies, I believe we're getting off topic, what were you here for again?" The general comments as he stares at you, focus renewed.
"Oh right, I was asking if You were put here to keep an eye on Springfield, after last time, we don't want more of you black suit guys messing with us." You frown as you cut straight to the chase.
"Ah well… No, this is what you would call…a disgraceful reassignment, my star has…fallen it seems." The general says, a forlorn expression on his face, as he leans back into his chair looking up at the ceiling twiddling his thumbs.
"...And the worst part is it's not even because of doing anything wrong…but what I am." He finishes, a mixture of anger and shame hidden by the expression of sadness clear on his face.
*...they fucking wouldn't…" You heard toon discrimination was bad but even you didn't think it was this bad!
"They reassigned you just because you're a toon?!, they can't do that to a gosh darn war hero!" You shout as you stamp your hand on the desk, sheer indignation in your voice.
"...I'm afraid that…in these changing times that doesn't matter much to people like Judge Doom. He's been trying to push his policies into the army…in fact that's the very reason I have been reassigned here." The general says before looking back at you as he leans forward, his hands now touching the desk to support him.
"The world is getting worse and worse for my kind Mister Simpson, not only in the Army but in general. In California we live in fear of the toon patrol knocking down our doors before arresting us for crimes we didn't commit. I've even heard of toons being tricked or threatened into signing false confessions… and more and more crimes are being punished with Dip as time goes on." The general growls as his knuckles turn white from clenching them too hard while he leans closer to you with each word spoken, baring his fangs all the while.
…A moment later, he realises how close he is to you and stops leaning forward.
"...Apologies for that outburst, thinking of Doom gets me…heated." The general says sighing as he slumps back into the chair with the fire having seemingly left him.
After that, none of you said anything for a while, neither able too look each other in the eyes. You thought this man would be your enemy; a high ranking, ferocious vision from your past who always had a trick up his sleeve.
But in this dull, lifeless office, watching the fight leave his eyes, you realise you're both the same: Army men who served their country to the best of their abilities and then just…thrown aside and ignored…
"...We fought evil once and succeeded. We can do it again." Is all you say as you stand up from your chair to the confused look of the general.
"What?" The general says, being caught off guard by your statement.
"I said, We fought an evil greater than Judge Doom before. When we stormed Normandy, it seemed impossible to take those beaches but we did!" You say in a firm voice staring right at him. "When we went to Rome, we thought through hills and mountains crawling with Germans, but we beat them anyway! When those krauts launched their final offensive during the battle of the bulge we smashed it! And I'm damn certain you saw moments in that war where things were just as dire!" It's your turn to lean forward towards him, slamming a white knuckle fist on his desk. "Whether it was being pinned down by sniper fire, facing down a tank or being outgunned in a firefight, I am certain you had those battles and bested them! So even though it seems that Judge Doom's unstoppable and freedom's in danger, it doesn't mean we can't fight for it like the old days and knock doom down a peg! Let's show him these old soldiers still have one last fight in them!"
The general is silent for a moment, clearly contemplating your words as he picks up a picture frame on his desk and takes a long look at it.
"...Maybe you're right…perhaps it's time I start giving hits instead of just taking them." The general says as he puts down the frame and stands up and dusts himself off.
"They want to reassign me to this fort thinking it will be the end of me? I'll turn this place into something even the navy seals would be jealous of!"
"That's the spirit!"
*He's certainly got a challenge in front of him, but you're certain he'll face it head on before he holds out a hand towards you.*
"Thanks for the talk, if you ever want some help from the military or want to get in contact with some important people, I'll be willing to lend a hand. I still have some connections after all."
"That would be appreciated." You say earnestly, with how difficult things seemed to be nowadays, having people you could reach out for help sounded useful right now.
You shake his hand while smiling, this certainly turned out better than expected… Maybe you'll ask him about the ink some other day.
Results:
You have met the General! You have learned about the situation in regards to toon discrimination in the military!
The General has given you some military contacts you can reach out to! National Diplomacy Action unlocked to reach out to military figures!
Hm, not a bad result really. And now from this turn we've got some potential contacts in the government (the Senator Quimby mentioned) and in the military. Could be useful if we're ever in a pinch and need someone on our side
By all acounts we have one of the still living studios producing toon programming considering warner and Disney must be bleeding money by the minutes thanks to Doom.
Tbh have had certain omakes ideas in the work, like warner studios selling some stuff.
Or Frink getting his hands on certain pair of mouses that once tried to take over the world to various degrees of failure.
Tbh thanks to Bugs appearing in who framed Roger Rabbit opening the floodgates to the warner side of things is quite way.
Wouldn't be surprised certain toons just retired to uknown places like Springfield just to not be bothered.
Either way no we just missing the rumor.mill to start next turn
"MR. BLACK HEART!" Bart shouted, finally allowing himself to express some genuine fear. You weren't a (complete) fool, you could put two and two together who this was...
"This is why I hate kids. Oh well. A little shock to their systems oughta-" He began.
Mr. Black was the camp director of Kamp Krusty. Mr. Black does very little work, instead relying on the services of the school bullies Jimbo Jones, Dolph and Kearney to "crush their spirits", who run the "Kamp Krusty" with an iron fist. Mr. Black also hired a retired drill instructor, presumably...

He was the original head of the camp during the series.
A nice addition to be honest, while toons are more comedy focused, it is interesting seeing one who was without doubt made specifically during the war propaganda era and that was on the active lines during said war.
Really hope we get to see him more.
My vote coming turn will prolly be heavy inclined to buy Itchy and Scratchy, think we haave left that enough on the backburner and no doubt the general would be glad to see the industry is still going strong in springfield.
Just giving them a place they don't have to fear for their lives would be a big attraction, I think. If they want to make cartoons, we'll give them a fair deal at the studio.
The General is a character from the short film, The Vanishing Private. He drives up to see Pete's antics, including jumping around a tree while singing "Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush" and throwing flowers. This convinces the General that he is acting crazy, especially after Pete asks the...
Mmmm i mean we have a cartoon company on springfield.
We could also contact Fit tony, trought fat tony. To help us smuggle out toons out of Doom territory.
And also contact Sweet Pete, to get toons more jobs i mean he also has a pseudo animation company
And we could even try to expand outside, and contact with other animations markets like Japan, France, and even Brazil. Well there is also the internet.
