Warp tech is stuff like a void shield, warp drive, force sword, psychic hood, or Gellar field. Tech that messes with the warp using materium derived methods. Psitech is tech that functions purely off the warp. Enchantment mostly, spirit stones, infinity circuits, avatars of Khaine. A lot of eldar tech. That's my read on it anyway.

So a warp drive isn't magic, but a cursed door that opens to the warp is.

Aren't Warp tech and Psytech the same?

For our purposes, i think they are the same because all of our warp interactions are via psy tech.

Psytech at the moment is all of elder tech.

Reject the Warp entirely, severing your potential for psykery with the tether on your souls to the Dark Prince. You will be free of them, forever, save those who seek the Ruinous One deliberately, but oh what a price to pay!
Completely frees you from the Curse of Slannesh. Also prevents you from taking any Imperial age tech, developing Psytech of any kind, and using Psykery. As this includes Wraithbone you will pretty much have to reinvent your entire technology base from scratch, which could be… problematic

It pretty much nukes our tech base to be lower than the empire of men, in what kind of tech they have available.
At it doesn't just nuke the tech but also all the fighters because the psy abilities are what makes them truely dangerous.

Yeah this looks like a shit deal to me chief.

We're already outnumbered 10 to 1 by the Imperium/Humanity. We're effectively neutered by chowing this option.

It gives 8 points that can be used, so yeah a shit deal if you aren't doing a build optimized around rebuild said tech base as fast as you can (largest pop size, martial, industry, science focus + blessed as a baseline).

And even then it is a really risky situation at the start more so than most of the other options.

I'm dissapointed the Vaul build isn't tripling down on World/Machine spirits. Wraithbone and Wraithconstructs are genuinely one of the coolest things about the eldar imo. Personally, I'm hoping our big success with modifying our souls is better enabling soul uploads into and out of Wraith Constructs.

We know Dark Eldar can basically resleave themselves into new bodies, we know the Craft Worlders can upload spirits into Wraithbone. Creating a society where one basically doesn't leave the safety of the Craft World and its Infinity Circuit unless one is sealed up in a heavily enchanted wraithbone construct would be true to form for Eldar, and a pretty cool niche (move over Iyande). I want to be peaceful, artistic space elves who just quietly make beautiful statuary and works of art but when provoked all those beautiful art pieces are some of the most dangerous forces fielded as artists go to war literally possessing the works they put heart and soul into.

Of course, that sort of build is probably better served by better Soulstones, so here's

Because if there's three things Wraithhosts can bring to the table, it's insane melee potential, durability, and a lot of D-cannons. And D-weaponry in Space sounds awesome.

In light of The QM's words I have created a new plan. I added key of Asuryan for webway tech and forge of vaul will let us throw heavy metal rather then bodies at problems and greatly reduce casualties we take. I added peaceful as a flaw since it seems bearable and cuts down the point debt somewhat.

[X] Plan: Vaul's Disciples

I just realised that with us looking up to Vaul was (or is depending on if @Mechanis is fan of the theory that being enslaved to Khaine who didn't die during the fall saved Vaul) the savoir of Isha we are destined to follow his example.

Funnily enough I'm hoping that we end up rolling the "Severed from the gods" option.

Btw, what's Farseerer quest?

It's actually better than that- D-weapons are (at least here) failed attempts to recreate Voidcannons, which go right past "yeet it into the Warp" and throw things out of the universe entirely. Hense why they can perma-kill Daemons.

Edit: of course, you can't make them without Blackstone and Wraithbone, and the former is, let's say, extremely unpleasent to work with when you are as Psykeicly active as the Eldar.

Oh, and if you are seeing that description and going "gee that sounds like a Necron Transdimentional Beamer", where do you think the Aeldari who made the first ones got the idea?

This.

I am somewhat miffed that Vaul's Disciples didn't included the key of assuryan, I mean we are extremely unlikely to get one again and with our "fuck off Slanneash" choice getting a key to the lost parts of webway where old ones research notes could be sounds good. But I think I saw this quest too late for my complain to have a impact

Too much heat for us to afford, even if we went Major Craftworld.

Better to have a strong foundation to do something new with. Though I did consider it.

I agree (one of the reasons why I didn't make spliter plan), I just wished for it to be possible but alas I do not want to be stuck in the webway or face major waagh or be near rangdan or near those Slaneashi sneaks or... You get the idea

I'm gonna be changing my vote to Vaul's disciples as it and my own plan are pretty much similar to eachother

[X] Plan: Vaul's Disciples

I mean if we do things right we would have loads of Heat, but it would also make us all but impossible to attack. We just stay in the Webway, and any Eldar society that tries to attack us gets their access points destroyed.

There is no such thing as Perfect Safety, and that requires us to be left alone while carrying an artifact everyone wants.

Yeah the ability to make more webway stuff IS nice, but it's kind of a gigantic target for pretty much everyone, and while we might be able to beat up a legion / their primarch, we are NOT gonna be able to handle if the Emperor himself decides to show up, or chaos, Or the Necrons, or the other Eldar, or the Dark Eldar, or-

Point being, the risks outweigh the benefits, and without taking webway seeds, we probably aren't gonna be able to make full use of its benefits unless its ALSO capable of making webway connections.

(Basically, if we take this and we aren't a major craftworld, we WILL end up getting dogpiled the moment anyone finds out what we have, and like the others said, too much of a danger to warrant grabbing it)
