Just going to note these three questions have largely been unaddressed by the thread. I think that, given we have had prophetic dreams of a crab swarm, and that we found out that there are Oni who will attack at some point, the central defensible hall sounds great. As to the name, Ivor has suggested "Haskistadr," translating as "Danger-place". That could technically be our village's name too, if a bit bragadocious. Something like "New Gotland" would also be a very traditional way of naming our village, or naming it after our Jarl. Or even naming it after Blackhand, in his memory.
Haskistadr seems appropriate, we haven't even finished turn 1 yet and we already have a dozen things that want to kill us.

I kinda want to go hunting for that Void birb next turn. However, we're gonna need something to snare it.

@I.F. Ister Would preparations for a hunt, like say making a net and asking the Seeress to put some traping seidr on it count as a major action? If like say 3 people made it a passive action?

I like Haskistadr, because it could potentially be translated as the "Danger Zone", and I will make that reference as many times as I can if we actually name it that.

Village name ideas, using this dictionary.

Nyrgutheim - "New Gute Home"
Eptirhallr - "In memory of Hallr"
Rekavidr - "Driftwood"
Hridsandr - "Storm beach"
I like Rekavidr

Updated my passive actions so i'll just post them again here

Were going to hunt the Void Eagle, who can teleport so it needs to be a anti-teleportation net, and the seeress is the only that can do that with seidr.
A flimsy net with anti-teleportation seidr on it means it'll still escape as easily with a regular net without anti-teleportation seidr. A quality net along with an anti-teleportation seidr cast upon it means your hunt will be easier.

it's wings are shredded so it can't really move right now except for teleporting.

Haskistadr as the land and Eptirhallr as our village sounds good to me.

I agree that building a solid, well-fortified central hall seems like a good idea. I know I've heard some returned vikings mention that cracking open the Christians' castles is a major challenge, which sounds like what we want to be right now.

When are we thinking of building the Hall? I'd prefer to start next season but can contribute this one if we're doing a push for it now.
If we're going to make it Good it'll probably take multiple seasons to finish (and will probably be subject to periodic further reinforcement as we get a better idea of what we're fighting and also gather more resources), so starting ASAP would probably be for the best.

Runes are writings that must be filled with paint/blood/etc to make magic for a time, burning it as fuel.

Wards are mostly made by convincing/bartering with/intimidating spirits into doing special stuff, with more time and effort.
