A question, but what do we want to research the next turn?

We talked abaout the whole "Spirits living inside our Soulscape" thing but do we want to test it?

Maybe we should also put some more animals in our Soulscape. Bigger animals, like chickens or goats.

I'm not against checking animals in principle but there's a lot of other stuff we need to check out. Undoing Needlebinding quickly, inverting Ignition, trying to Infuse the chicken's Hamr (and feeding it, poor thing), teaching Bjorney Eyespeech, trying to work out the Burl and Bridge portal spell, and researching items. We could maybe ditch that last one, I suppose...

The items to me are less time sensitive than the other stuff. We can always research them later.

We also have this:

While your farmsoul is well protected by the presence of a fence, that's more then can be said for your soulscape as a whole. Already, wisps of curious spirit-matter prod at the limits of your soul, testing and examining to see what this new thing is. These entities are barely sentient let alone sapient, merely spirit-matter that's clumped together enough to have some semblance of locomotion. That won't last forever, though. One day, something with actual intelligence will have a gander at what you've built.

This implies that for now we have only weak Barely-Spirits araound our Soulscape. We should take advantage of the occasion before passing to stronger Spirits.

Alright, looks like...

Damn, guess we've got a tie on our hands!

For the record, IF has strongly implied on Discord that putting poems in our soul doesn't actually do anything. I'm not against adding one anyway eventually, but it's not something I'm happy investing time and energy into when we have so many more potentially productive avenues to explore.
well I didn't know that. can we experiment a bit with experience capturing? we got the ability two turns ago but did no experiments with it. potential options is putting the experience of fire into metal when forging(potentially creating molten iron?) or maybe the feeling of courage into a ring?
we can also try to combine it with cultivation later on.

On another note, if Asva returns to take over Steinarr's farm, can we arrange to teach our and her kids needlebinding together? we can easily say we do it for Asveig. and it will be useful for them to have the skills when we disclosure(both out kids and Asva's if we manage to get them to cultivate too)

Checking on spirits is definitely valid as a time sensitive project and I'm down for replacing item analysis with that (though we do want to do item analysis eventually)...but how would you suggest we do that? Like, I think we likely need more of a plan than 'poke them'.

well I didn't know that.

I figured. Hence mentioning it. Just trying to be informative.

Experience capturing is interesting, but several of the other topics seem a tad more time sensitive. Admittedly not the item research, but if we're ditching that for spirit stuff anyway...

Seems reasonable to me, yeah.

I mean, Solrun supposedly gave Halla lessons on how to deal with Spirits a while ago. But we were never given any information on mechanics out-of-universe.

So i suppose 'poke them' is a good plan as any other.

We could identify what type of Spirit they are, if they are useful and if they are trustworthy.

Then try to invite them in our Soulscape and make them our vassals.

If they are young "Proto-Spirits" i suppose they would be less dangerous for us and easier to recruit. Since they would desperately need a way to grow and become stronger.

I immagine the Spirit World is basicaly an infinite server of Agar.io were the big powerful players eat the small and inexperienced for breakfast. With the few survivors scavenging for resources in the hope to grow and climp the food chain.

Is there any sort of compiled list of the abilities and weakneses of The Foe?

We haven't made a singular post about what we know he can and can't do, mainly because there isn't much data on him. Basically, he can spawn Foemen out of thin air, can give orders/requests (we don't know) to draugr+trolls+giants, has some direct minions that are rather powerful (Pursuers), and can make requests of Steelfathers and teleport them at a noticable cost. He can basically see and hear anywhere on Midgard (Norse Earth), but his attention is in no way infinate, meaning that he doesn't notice some stuff but saying his Name (probably Yimr) will make him take a look at you which is very bad. Non-Odr Cultivators are, as far as we know, invisible to him, and he HATES the spreading of information. He can potentially hear inside your Soulscape, but he can't see there. We don't know either way on that, but Blackhand is on the paranoid side because if we get it wrong and He can hear there, we are inviting His attention and he may get to look inside our soulscape which is all kinds of bad. The river Gjoll(?) is safe to talk at, as the river is super loud and deafens him and the surrounding mists hide us, but using it as a place to chat might piss of Morgudur(?) after a bit, she guards the bridge and she can instakill us with no fucks given. I can't remember any other major bits but various other people probably can and will also correct me on the bits i've got wrong/forgotten. Sorry for the very rambly nature of this.

Thank you. i was thinking of making a post where all the info could be gathered so that people wouldnt have to scrounge trough the posts to find it but it seems you've now made one.

Also how the hell is all that "not a lot of data"

For one we don't know exactly how much he knows about us (does he know everything about us including what Tricks we have equipped or does he just estimate our strength based off of our Odr generation?) or what he can call on when Foemen aren't enough (What. Is. A. Pursuer???)

I play a lot of Pathfinder and DnD, and have a habit of memorising enemy builds and stats so that I know how to respond and can estimate the rough hit chance to guess what is the more optimal choice to make, meaning I have a relatively high bar for "sufficient data on an enemy". We know some stuff about him, but we have had 1 fight with a couple Foemen and 1 Draugr, and thats the limit of his tools we have fought. His higher end stuff we have bugger all on, beyond some stuff on trolls, that giants are smart trolls and better in most other ways than them, and that a Persuer is a thing that exists.

Question. Is it possible to bring people into a Soulcape, and if so can we perform a Disclosure inside without the Enemy knowing?
We have brought a chick in, and it worked, but we haven't tested a human as we have to trust them enough to bring them into our literal soul, but not be so attached to them that we care if we accidentally kill them in the process.

Solrun talk is done, moving on to crafting.

Current time: ~1:45

What were the results for the crafting rolls, again?
